Llanes Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Completed in August 2006, Residencial Covabella is a new development of 26 privately owned apartments on the edge of Posada de Llanes. It has beautiful views of the 'Sierra del Cuera' Mountains, is only a short drive from the famous 'Picos de Europa' mountain range with it's National Park and only five minutes drive from some of the best sandy beaches that are to be found in this part of Spain. The apartment has it's own private garden with a large terrace and lawn which is south west facing and a real suntrap. There is a parking space in the basement garage.

Getting there: Easy Jet fly from London Stanstead to Asturias airport (1 Hour by Car)and also to Bilbao (2 Hours by Car)

Ryan Air fly from London Stanstead to Santander (1 Hour by Car)

There are ferry services from Portsmouth to Bilbao (P&O Ferries) and Plymouth to Santander (Brittany Ferries).

Booking Conditions: A 25 % non refundable deposit is required on a firm booking. Balance is due 1 calendar month before booking plus a £ 50.00 refundable deposit for safe return of keys. Rates for Easter, Christmas, Spanish Bank Holidays and School Holidays will be the same as July and August.

Surfing Information: The apartment is close to excellent surfing beaches. Spring and Autumn are best due to consistent swell and good weather. Water temperatures are pleasant although a wetsuit is recommended.

The nearest beach is San Antolin, 5 minutes away. The beach has excellent waves, which break next to the picturesque natural archway. It has waves on all tides but is better from mid to high tide. There is parking on the beach and on the road above. Playa Torimbia is another good beach, 7 mins away, although a long walk is needed to get down.

Ribadasella is a popular surfing beach 20 mins away with consistent waves that are best on a high tide. It is safe, sandy and suitable for beginners.

The best surfing break in the area is Rodiles, about 30 minutes drive, a large sandy beach with numerous waves but the jewel in the crown is the world class lefthander which breaks in front of the river mouth, this wave is more suited to experienced surfers due to the nature of the rip currents from the estuary.

Our stay at posada de llanes

What a fantastic apartment. Ideal location close to supermarket, and other shops. Views from private garden of surrounding countryside, Very easy access to coast or mountains. Beautiful beaches within 5 minutes drive of the apartment. We stayed with our grown up children - 7 of us for part of our stay (August 08) and we were easily accommodated. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others. If you haven't been to Asturias before give it a try.

Lovely apartment and great location

We had a great week at the end of August 2016. Posada is ideal as a base for a holiday with various beaches etc within a short distance and the mountains not far away too. We had 2 nights in Potes before staying for a week in Posada.

The apartment is clean, well equipped, lots of local information provided, the rooms are spacious and having the garden is ideal. The supermarket and other shops are a short walk away. Getting into and out of the garage is a little tight but fine!

We had days out to various places - Ribadesella was the favourite where we were fortunate to see La Vuelta cycle through. You are only 2 hours from Bilbao on the half empty motorway and we managed to take in a game of football (Bilbao v Barcelona) one evening.

Lots of small beaches nearby though the wide expanse of Ribadesella was my favourite. Llanes is nearby and is a harbour town with a good choice of restaurants and shops.

We also went to the Cabarceno Nature Park which was ok ish despite rave reviews elsewhere. Great place but when you drive round and finally see one tiger lying motionless in the sun it is not that inspiring!

We would certainly recommend the apartment to anyone looking for some quality accommodation in the area.

Comfortable, well-equipped apartment, great views

Three bed apartment with comfortable beds, well-equipped throughout and great views from the small, private garden to the mountains. The owners provide plenty of information about the area and activities that are available, with some excellent suggestions for eating and drinking, in the town itself and in Llanes and surrounding villages. The apartment is ideally situated close to beaches and a little further afield the mountains of the Picos de Europa.we also had a day kayaking (for softies)on the River Sella. Happy to recommend this property for couples or families.

Great Holiday in a Lovely Apartment

We had a great 2 weeks in Covabella at the end of July and beginning of August. Posada is an excellent base for a family holiday, with lovely beaches just a short distance away, and easy access to the mountains and lakes nearby.

The apartment is great for a family holiday. It is clean, really well equipped, the rooms are spacious and we enjoyed eating our meals in the garden. The position in the town is ideal, it is peaceful, with the shops just a short walk away.

The areas of Asturias and Cantabria are beautiful, we really enjoyed the coastline and the sandy beaches – the sea is clear and ideal for snorkelling. Our favourite beaches were Playa de San Antonio, Playa de Toranda and Playa do Poo!! Llanes is nearby and is a harbour town with a good choice of restaurants and shops. It is also good to walk around and see the historic buildings.

Other places we enjoyed visiting were Comillas where Gaudi’s house was really interesting and the town is very picturesque. The Cabarceno Nature Park is a good day out and quite different to any zoo we’ve been to before. You drive around the zoo and get out at each enclosure. The animals have very large spaces and seeing 20 or more brown bears was amazing. We also took the Funicular de Bulnes railway and enjoyed visiting the village and walking up in to the mountains.

We would certainly recommend both the area and apartment as a great place for a holiday, and hope to return again one day.

Best apartment I have experienced in Spain

The apartment was exceptionally well equipped and everything worked properly unlike many other places in Spain! Spacious accommodation for a family with stunning views towards the nearby mountains. Even a garden to sit in- lovely :)

The apartment is perfectly located close to several pristine beaches as well as a supermarket a couple of minutes walk away. Close to access for the Picos mountains and the excellent hiking nearby. I would highly recommend this property to any family groups.

Spacious property, good location, comfy beds!

We are a couple in our mid thirties with two small boys 6mths and 3 years and we stayed at Covabella for 10 days in Sept 2013. The apartment was very well equipped with lots of space inside and out for our little ones to play safely. The beds were very comfortable and there were lots of extra pillows to make sure we were comfortable. We were travelling with a car through France and then to Spain and travelled in a large family car. This made the car park a challenge as the Spanish spaces are quite tight. Luckily there were rarely many cars parked there and we got used to it after the first few times. Having a car was great as we could explore the beautiful mountains and surrounding area. Our little ones played on a different beach every day! Posada itself was a quiet little town, with a well stocked supermarket very close by and lots of little cafe bars along the main street. We really enjoyed our stay and Colin was very helpful when there was a local problem with the water on the last day.

Posada de Llanes is a small market town 8 kilometres from the picturesque port of Llanes in the province of Asturias in Northern Spain. Asturias is on the Atlantic coast, known as the 'Costa Verde' and is the most unspoilt region of Spain. It boasts some of the finest sandy beaches to be found anywhere, many of which have blue flag status. Posada is an hours drive from either Santander Airport to the east or Asturias Airport to the west. The cities of Gijón and Oviedo are about 40 & 50 minutes away by car. Whether you want just a beach holiday, or to experience everything else that Asturias has to offer, this apartment is perfectly placed for you to do whatever you wish.

Golf: Golf is well catered for in Asturias where you can play golf in exceptionally natural surroundings, with courses ideal for all levels, just a few kilometres apart set in stunning landscapes.

Summer temperatures rarely in excess of 25º centigrade add up to the perfect environment for playing golf with the added bonus of uncrowded courses and low green fees.

The nearest is the municipal golf course “Club de Golf La Cuesta” located between the villages of Cué and Andrín 4km east of Llanes. It is a Scotch link type eighteen hole course. Par 71. White stakes: 5.859 metres. SSS:72 Yellow stakes:5.687 metres. SSS71 Blue stakes 5.009 metres. It is a location that enjoys beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding area. There are other courses nearby in Ribadasella and Villaviciosa as well as 4 to choose from in Gijón and 2 in Oviedo For further details and website addresses please contact the owners.

There is also a 9 hole par 3 course in Quintana 1 km away from the apartment.

Ski: There are four small skiing resorts within an hour and a half to two hours drive from the apartment, three in the direction of Oviedo and one in the direction of Santander. San Isidro has 33km of piste, Fuentes de Invierno 8.8 km, Valgrande Pajares 23km and Alto Campoo 27. The season generally runs from mid December to mid April depending on the snow conditions. All have mainly easy to intermediate pistes with a few more challenging black runs. Further details are readily available on the stations individual websites on the internet.

  • Everything in the apartment is brand new including the beds. All beds have good quality individually pocket sprung mattresses and are extremely comfortable. Bedroom 1 has a large double bed (1.6 m x 2 m), 2 bedside cabinets and a fitted wardrobe. Bedroom 2 has twin beds (Both 0.9 m x 2 m), bedside cabinet and a large free standing wardrobe. Bedroom 3 has bunk beds (0.9 m x 2 m) and a wardrobe. The lounge has a good quality 'Ektorp' sofa bed made by IKEA. It is 1.4 m (4ft 7in) wide. We have slept in it ourselves and found it very comfortable. It is also extremely easy to put up and down. All bedding is provided.
