About Beth Craig and/or Eduardo Gonzalez
Having grown up in Boston, my sisters and I enjoyed summers on the Cape, and the nice family-oriented neighborhood we are in. Being away from the traffic and hustle and bustle of the tourist-packed beaches, we enjoy 'old-fashioned' Cape summers, with no honky-tonk town or fast food eateries. We prefer the simplicity of a bowl of chowder or a lobster roll, or grilling in the back yard. We look forward to coming every summer, to drink in the short but sweet New England summer.
Beth Craig and/or Eduardo Gonzalez purchased this Cottage in 1977
Why Beth Craig and/or Eduardo Gonzalez chose Mashpee
The best thing about this cottage is its proximity to the beach (walk with the beach wagon holding your gear), and the location of Mashpee itself. From here you can visit Cape Cod villages, bike the Shining Sea Trail, catch the high speed ferry from Hyannis to nantucket for the go to Woods Hole for lunch, or to take your bike or car over to Martha's Vineyard. Drive scenic 6A to Chatham, meandering thru charming old villages, or go to Osterville or Mashpee Commons to shop & eat. Popponesset and NewSeabury is just next the kids, and enjoy a lobster roll at the raw bar, followed by an ice cream.
What makes this Cottage unique
A quiet tree-lined street, safe for kids, relaxing for adults, and close to the beach. It is not touristy - it is really all locals who have been coming for years. The yard is private enough - you are not 'on top' of the neighbors'. And those you do meet, you will find are super friendly and welcoming. The PORCH is great for relaxing day or night, and great for grandparents who don't want to go to the beach, but want to enjoy the fresh air. The WiFi is free, and the signal is strong.

Dreamy week away!
Our family had a wonderful stay at the cottage! We spent almost all of our time on the screened in porch. The house was well equipped with everything we could have needed.
South Cape Beach was a little to far for my small kids to walk but we had no trouble parking and enjoying every day at the beach! The neighborhood was quiet and relaxing! We would definitely enjoy another stay there in the future!
Thank you, Beth!
We had an amazing vacation on the Cape! The house has everything you need, the location couldn't be any better, and Beth is an incredible host.
The local little beach area with a playground was a huge plus to entertain our grandson.
Overall, everything was just perfect and we hope to come back next year (maybe even for a longer stay)!
Quiet, cozy cottage in Cape Cod
Nice vacation home with all the amenities
Wonderful week stay
We loved the cottage! The screened in porch with ceiling fan was the perfect relaxation spot after beach days and driving around the cape. Everything was as described and Beth was easily available to answer any questions we had. We would definitely rent this cottage again.
What a great place and location
We had a wonderful 7 night stay with our family of 5 (2 adults, kids ages 5, 8, 10). The place is cute and quaint but absolutely sufficient for our family. Very quiet area. The queen bedroom was great for our 8 year old daughter with our boys sharing the double twin room. The master king was comfortable and even though the pillows were not for us, but we did trade out with the queen room which had pillows more out style so it worked out great. The living space was adequate with ample seating and xfinity TV the kids enjoyed on downtimes and we caught up on local news. The kitchen was small but ample enough that we cooked 5 lobsters and sides one night, a large stripped bass and sides another night, plus big breakfasts. Fridge and freezer space was nice. There is a nice gas and mid size charcoal grill that we also utilized. It was great to have the screened in porch for relaxing and outdoor eating. It can get warm/humid in the cottage during the day (we were never there during the day) but the AC in the bedrooms does the job. Wonderful to have a washer and dryer in the basement! We were able to explore almost the whole cape from here from Woods Hole north to Barnstable to Chatham and up to Wellfleet. Traffic, however, can be a bugger and turn a 30 minute drive to a 2 hour drive so leave early! We went to Wellfleet for a charter leaving at 6am and got there in an hour. It took 2.5 hours to get back! Crazy. Thanks so much for the provided beach chairs, umbrella, cooler and wagon! The walk to the beach is easy but a bit farther that 1/2 mile, but it is a great beach. We left some kids beach buckets and small shovels for future occupants to enjoy as our kids did. FYI, after 5 the South Cape Beach was free parking at the time we stayed. Grocery, shopping and necessities are only 10 minutes away. The owners and very easy to get ahold of and incredibly accommodating and amazingly prompt to any needs that may arise. Top notch for sure. We want to go back right now!!!! Thanks!!!
What a great week at Dray’s Cottage!
Perfect location...10 Minute walk to south cape beaches...great communication for seamless entry into property...Cottage was very clean and spacious...quiet neighborhood but conveniently located to ferries to MV (woods hole) or walking around Falmouth. We would definitely come back to stay at Dray’s Cottage!
We are just next to New Seabury & Popponesset...so go for a sunset cocktail to Popponesset Inn, or have a lobster roll & chowder at the Raw Bar, followed by an ice cream at Popponesset Marketplace.
