This flat is right in the heart of the resort which means that the two principal ski lifts and several pistes are less than 100m from the building and the shops (supermarket, pharmacy, bakery etc.), ski rentals, ski schools, restaurants, bars, the pool complex, squash courts, climbing walls (or tennis, archery, water-sports etc. in the summer) are in a radius of 250m from the front door.
We completely renovated the flat in the second half of 2013 and because we care about the environment we made sure the wooden furniture we bought was made from sustainable forests and ethically manufactured, the tiles in the kitchen are bespoke, made by a small French company and so on. The flat was classified as 4-star in March 2016.
Everything in the kitchen is new from domestic appliances to cutlery and glasses. There is even a Nespresso machine, so don't forget to bring your coffee capsules! This is where you'll also find the flat's humidifier to counter the disagreeable side effects of the very dry high altitude air.
Unlike many ski apartments where occupants barely have room to breathe, in this one we've opted for fewer occupants but plenty of space.
We designed the built-in bunk beds in the bedroom. Each is 90x200cm, privatised with a curtain and has a light and shelf as well as a huge drawer. The sofa, table and stools in the bedroom means whoever occupies it enjoys a certain independence from the rest of the flat.
The sofa in the sitting-room turns into a very comfortable 140x200 futon bed at night and the drawer underneath is just right for storing the bedding during the day. The curtain on the sitting-room door ensures full privacy if wanted.
We designed the big, open cupboard in the hallway specifically with skiing in mind so that finding helmets, scarves, gloves, hats, goggles, jackets doesn't turn into a scrum!
Our partner Mountain Attitude, at the foot of the building, gives a 30% discount on ski hire to our guests.

Christophe, a lighting manager at the Paris Opera and the French Finn (Olympic-class dinghy) champion in his age category, has been coming to Tignes for 50 years; Christina, a journalist who loves rowing and skiing has been coming since she met Christophe; we have three young adult daughters and a teenage son who've been coming here since they were born!

This property, with views from both sides of the building in the heart of Tignes and at the foot of ski lifts and runs, has been in the family for half a century. Following complete renovation in 2013 when we inherited it, our flat was classified as 4-star in March 2016. This is our second home and we never tire of the spectacular views of the lake (frozen over in winter) and the mountains from the living-room and balcony; when we renovated the flat we chose to leave the rooms big and spacious rather than dividing them up into rabbit warrens as so many owners have sadly chosen to do with their mountain properties. This means there is plenty of space for everyone even when the flat is fully occupied by six adults. And the flat is light and really sunny as it's in one of the best exposed buildings of the resort.
The totally unobstructed view, the spaciousness, the sun, the well-equipped kitchen, the proximity of the ski-lifts, the position right in the heart of the resort.

Appartement très agréable, propre et bien placé
Nous y avons passé une semaine entre amis. Il est suffisamment spacieux pour 6 personnes, bien aménagé, avec tout le nécessaire pour passer un agréable séjour. Proche de toutes commodités et aux pieds des pistes. Décoration moderne, on s'y sent vraiment bien. On le recommande et si nous retournons à Tignes, c'est dans cet appartement que nous aimerions loger.
Nous avons passé une très agréable semaine à Tignes, la vue depuis cette appartement est magnifique !
Toutefois, nous étions 4 adultes et 2 enfants, le canapé lit du salon est peu confortable, c est dommage après une bonne journée de ski....!
L'appartement est très bien situé, la cuisine parfaitement équipée, et ;a vue est en effet superbe ! Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir.
A car is completely unecessary in winter in Tignes. There is a regular bus service up to the resort from the train station at Bourg St Maurice and also from Geneva airport.
A free shuttle 24/7 serves the different areas of Tignes (Tignes 1800, Lavachet, Val Claret and Lac).
In summer a car is recommended as the bus services from Bourg Saint Maurice are less frequent but the resort shuttle service continues, albeit less often than in winter.
