About the property

The building was erected on the historic walls of D. Fernando, at the foot of the river, near the place where the tobacco used to be negotiated. The name of its street JARDIM DO TABACO is still there to witness it.

This flat was completely renovated in 2010 and offers all the modern comfort, although it has preserved its period’s character.

Its localization is its biggest asset: near the museum of the fado, a few minutes away from “praça do comercio” and Baixa Pombalina, the Castel of São Jorge and from Casa dos Bicos. Its area is served by public transport; the subway, the typical tram of Lisbon and the bus.

You are between the lanes of the medieval district of Alfama and the river which bathes the city. You can follow along the Tagus the South of the capital up to the sea or explore the trendy and elitist zone of the Docas.

Its internal space is its second asset! A bright lounge/dining room of 40 m2, 3 bathrooms. A LCD with cable and all its audiovisual equipment, DVDs and CDs, a favourite addresses book will satisfy the most demanding. The spacious bedrooms own all 2 individual beds convertible in double beds (1, 60 x 2, 00) on request. In the kitchen, provided with all the modern equipment necessary, it is its spectacular chimney with the exposed brickwork that will leave a deep impression.

Very clean. Large condo. Convenient location.

7 ppl stayed there with lots of room. The location was easy for the train, hop on hop off, and walking distance to many shops and monuments. Great restaurant right next door. The owners assistant Johanna was very helpful and went out of her way for our needs.

Location was excellent for walking to the historic town, Sao Jorge castle, the square etc. Property is quite spacious and well maintained and the owner was extremely helpful and accommodating.

Perfect apartment in Lisboa

We- a group of six- stayed for 4 nights in the apartment to discover Lisboa. The Apartment is just perfect! Everything was just as described in the Lay-out. It has four spacious, very well and stylish decorated bedrooms; a spacious living room with a big sitting area and a very well equiped kitchen. The apartment is very clean and even has radiators in each room. We had a warm welcome and Joao organized our transfer from/to the airport. We really enjoyed our stay and we can highly recommend the object. It truly is a comfortable "Home away". Thanks a lot Joao and we surely will return!

Superbe appartement au pied de l'Alfama

Appartement en tout point conforme à la description, encore plus joli que sur les photos, décoré avec beaucoup de goût. Très spacieux, nous étions 9 adultes avec assez d'espace pour tout le monde. La literie est très confortable, les 3 salles de bains impeccables, rien ne manque et tout est parfaitement propre. L'accueil de Amelia et Joao est très agréable, dans un français impeccable, ils ont été aux petits soins pour rendre notre séjour agréable (organisation du transfert depuis l'aéroport, réservation d'une soirée fado pour nous, conseils de visites à notre arrivée, bouteille de porto offerte...). Les échanges par mail avant notre arrivée ont été rapides et efficaces. Un dernier mot sur la localisation, au pied de l'Alfama, et à 10 mn à pied de la place du commerce et de la Baixa, bref l'emplacement est idéal, dans une rue au calme, à 3 mn à pied de la gare Santa Apolonia. Bref à recommander sans soucis pour un séjour des plus agréables !

Séjour agréable avec nos amis, dans le quartier populaire d'Alfama

Très bien accueilli par le propriétaire qui parle français, Grand appartement de quatres chambres pour les huit personnes que l'ont étaient, au troisième étage, donc bien éclairé plein Sud, fonctionnel et bien aménagé, nous sommes tous satisfait, bien placé dans le fameux quartier Alfama, non loin de la gare Santa Apolonia (Train et métro & bus)

You have a wide selection between the traditional restaurants, where comes the tune of Fado from, and their tables on the corner of the streets or on a small square. Or you can choose the trendy and elitist restaurant area of the Docas of Jardim do Tabaco. Seafood, fresh fish, typical dishes or renowned pizzeria as well as a gourmet grocery store are expecting you on their terraces on the river bank.

Any kind of traditional grocery shops, crafts shops and small antiquary invite you to enter the medieval lane of Alfama where people still talk from one window to another.

EASY! You just have to follow the indications to find the Santa Apolónia station, and in the inner street, parallel to the Tagus, you turn to the Museum of Fado. Just before the square of the museum, which also has a restaurant with a terrace, the building is there, imposing, with its windows with french balconies and its façade covered with blue and white traditional azulejos.
