My sister and I 55+ stayed in this apartment for a month and it felt like home?It was a lovely space and nice and bright.You were never worried because there were always lots of people around.Transportation was excellent and the Sunday and Thursday market was at the top of the street.Yes there was noise all night but you can get used to anything in Paris. First, the good news. The owner, Isabelle, and her partner, Phillip, are honest, straightforward and helpful.
The bad news is you, the tenant, will not be dealing with them after you send them your reservation deposit. The tenant is in the care of an apartment rental agency - that's the consierage/caretaker that's listed in the advertisement. There is no one on site to turn to if you have a problem, which was what I was expecting; especially as I had planned to travel with my elderly mother. The dealings I had with the agency on check-in and check-out were perfunctory, at best. On check-in I was given a very short introduction to the workings of the apartment with some misinformation on how the TV worked and told that air-conditioning was not included, contrary to the advertisement. I was not shown how the key system worked, so the first time I left the apartment, I was locked out and had to wait for the agency to return my call before I could gain access.
The apartment is spacious and is located close to public transportation. To say the area is "lively" is an understatement. The bar downstairs is open till 5 am (6 am weekends). Three windows face Daval Street. Even with the windows closed, it's noisy. I ran the fan for white-noise to help block the constant, all-night noise from the street. The good news is it's always busy outside, so I never felt threatened when I was out late alone.
I stayed in the apartment alone for 2 weeks because my mother was not well enough to travel, so I did not need to use the front bedroom. The back bedroom was relatively quiet and comfortable. There's lots of light, storage and hangers. It's a very pleasant apartment and well fitted. Unfortunately, the sofa is the only seating and it's very uncomfortable. The shower has weak water pressure with a limited supply of hot water. I was provided with 1 bath towel for 2 weeks. I did buy hand towels and a bath mat. Hopefully, they'll be there for future tenants.
I was provided with 2 flat sheets and no duvet cover. I couldn't even think about weather or not it had been cleaned.
I had several major problems with the apartment, which were corrected quickly by the owner when notified.
My advice to tenants is to contact the owner directly and skip the agent if you need assistance.
I would recommend this apartment to tenants who like lots of noise and who stay out most of the night.
I would not recommend this apartment to anyone who wants a quiet night's sleep.
We stayed in this apartment for a week in March 2013.
Didn’t get a very good start for our stay as we had to wait for over an hour on the street to get in, but were mostly happy with our stay.
The apartment itself is OK (good and clean Ikea quality), although there were a few minor things that would need fixing. Missed a real coffee machine and hand towels, but otherwise the equipment was approximately what was promised.
Good location, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and a bakery just next door. The neighborhood is lively, so you have to be a heavy sleeper in the street-side bedroom.
The apartment is a good alternative for a short stay in Paris, but among the many apartments we have stayed in Paris there have been ones that offer a better price/quality ratio than this one.

This apartment is ideally located on rue Daval in the 11th district. The Bastille Square is only two steps away from the apartment. Here, you will discover the Paris Opera which is considered one of the most impressive in the world. The place is also surrounded with numerous restaurants and bars for night life namely in the Roquette street and Lappe street. Close to the apartment is a Velib station. Numerous shops are close by the apartment: bakery, butcher shop, supermarket, outdoor market, theatre, restaurant, café, club, launderette, doctor, pharmacy and hospital.
