In the heart of Paris, a charming 16m2 studio in a typical Old Paris from the 17th century building with exposed beams. It is located in a pedestrian neighbourhood, in the 1st district, between the rue de Rivoli and the rue des Lombards.
The apartment has no direct neighbours, facing the sun during morning, surrounded by many shops, famous night bars and restaurants.
You are 3 min away by foot from the town´s theatres and from the Châtelet, at the bottom of the Fontaine des Innocents and of the shopping centre Les Halles and less than 10 min from Beaubourg, the Hôtel de Ville, the Louvres, the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Montorgueil and the Marais districts.
This studio will be your ideal nest to visit alone, by 2 or 3, all the capital as it is very well served by transports (6 metro services, 3 RER, bus and night bus.) For the sportiest ones, a vélib station (bicycle easy rentals around the city) 15 metres away.
Very center of Paris at 50 m from metro station Chatelet-Les Halles, 10 min walking distance from Hotel de Ville, le Louvres, Notre-Dame de Paris
Overall I had a great experience! The location is lovely, perfectly situated in the heart of Paris. Close to bars, restaurants, Velib (public bike rental), and many area attractions. The owner is highly responsive and very fast to respond to any questions!
Just one note for non French speakers, there are a couple notes in French only that you should be aware of. It says they'll ask you for a $200 Euro deposit on arrival, you may not have that much cash on hand. Also, it says you can only check out between 8 and 2200 (10pm) or there will be a $30 euro penalty (though on arrival I was told it was 9 - 2200 and a $50 euro fee?). I wasn't aware of this before hand so I was slightly surprised by the info.
All the best!
My boyfriend and I stayed in this studio over New Years a couple of years ago. We still talk about what a great find it was. The location couldn't have been any better. We had easy access to the whole city. The immediate neighborhood had a lot of restaurants, bars and shopping. A walk to took 10 minutes or less to reach Notre Dame, the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Pompidou and the subway. The Eiffle Tower was quite a bit father, but yes, we walked to it as well.
On the day we arrived, the manager met us out front with the keys. He was very kind and answered all of our questions, including his advice on nearby restaurants. He even adjusted our check-out time to coincide better with our departing flight.
I would have given this a 5-star rating, but the bathroom had not been well maintained. There was smelly water damage all over it and the sink leaked - so we set a trash can underneath it. Otherwise, the studio was clean and the sofa-bed was comfortable enough for the two of us.
Nonetheless, I would stay here again. The location for the price cannot be beat!
The location cannot be better. It truly is in the heart of Paris and close to the Metro as well as the Velib. We never were in contact with Sylvia, but Arnaud was our liaison person. We were arriving before the apartment would be ready so we were instructed to go to Arnaud's place. We did so and although we were a bit later than we expected due to lost luggage, he wasn't there. We had to find a place to stash our luggage for a few hours. We finally did meet up with him, got the key, etc. He was very pleasant and helpful. My friend had lost her luggage and we were counting on having a phone in the apartment. The apartment is on the 5th floor which we knew. It's a pull out couch, the mattress was pretty stained and very thin. There was no cover for the duvet but clean sheets and pillowcases. The bathroom was small and in need of a new shower curtain. The phone didn't work. Arnaud was not much help and in fact did not contact us when he got a call from the airlines that they had found our luggage. Luckily the internet worked and we were able to make phone calls through Skype. There was no effort by our host to get our phone fixed and that was really annoying considering our lost luggage issue. I would have been happy to pay a bit more and have a duvet cover, a shower curtain that wasn't mouldy, an unstained mattress (not a pullout couch) and pillows.
Location is really great, the majority of attractions are in the walking distance.
There is no lift and the ladder is really replacing sport center for you.
Some small staff in the appartment is better to be repaired (such as the door of the wardrobe, the sealing in the kitchen water tap), but that does not bother us a lot.
Great value for money paid, you can't argue about that.
The flat is small but clean and comfortable. I really recommend it for the special location: you can reach the most important destination by feet. Ideal for a young couple or for a couple with a lonely child. The owners are friendly and helpful... Hope to be back soon!
This flat has a wonderful, central location. Only takes a minute to walk to Chatelet metro station, and around 10-15 minutes to walk to the Louvre or Notre Dame. The flat is right off the Rue de Rivoli, so the street feels very safe and populated at all times. (However, there is a good chance you'll hear the Australian bar across the street at night.)
The flat is a little bit on the dingy side, especially the bathroom, but it's clean. The wireless internet worked perfectly (we didn't try the tv or phone service). All the linens and towels were nice. The flat is, of course, very small, and I certainly wouldn't recommend the flat for more than two people. The bed, as stated in the listing, is a roll-out sofa bed, and we didn't find it particularly comfortable during our three-night stay.
If you're alone or a couple, not too bothered by a bit of noise at night and not too picky about your bed or walking up five flights of stairs, this is really a wonderful place to stay in central Paris because of its location.
You are at 3 min walking distance from the Chatelet Theater, the Fontaine des Innocents and the famous shopping center Les Halles....and at less than 10 min from Beaubourg, the Hôtel de Ville, the Louvre, the Cathédrale Notre Dame, Montorgueil or the Marais areas....
A perfect place to stay for 1 to 3 persons visiting Paris. Excellent transport conditions (6 metros, 3 RER, bus et noctanbus) and a vélib (municipal bicycle renting network) station at 15 meters. Also perfect for expats in Paris.
