DESCRIPTION

The condominium in which lies the apartment is located in the 'Murri' district, in the so called 'garden' area built in the teens and twenties of the last century a few hundred meters from the ring of boulevards that surround the historic center of the city and Margherita gardens, the green lung of Bologna close to the hills. The property is located on the corner of two roads one of which, quiet and shaded by large trees, is flanked by villas of both ancient and modern style while the other road, which is more busy, after a few hundred meters away is grafted onto Tuscany road, which runs first to the foot of the hills of Bologna and then salt towards the Apennines to get up to Florence.

The condo is surrounded by a courtyard / garden; in the back are 9 parking spaces while in the parts arranged along the two roads there are walkways with trees, hedges and flower plants. Not far away in front of the local elementary school there are gardens with children's playground, bar and outdoor pubs, and a few hundred meters away, there is the Lunetta Gamberini, a large garden with avenues winding on a rolling terrain with tall trees and parks of games.

With buses that leave in front of the condo, you can go directly to the Centre, to the Railway Station, to the one of the Bus, to the Fair and the to the parks on the hills. Nearby there are shops of all kinds, supermarkets and outdoor markets all within easy walking distance.

THE ADVICE OF THE OWNER

Bologna is at the same time, a nice modern city and a wonderful medieval city whose center dates back mainly to the first 4 centuries of the last millennium. The center could be crossed by walking (or, at most, with some bus stop) and this makes it very livable because everything is at your fingertips: boutiques and department stores, cultural centers, cinemas, theaters and art galleries.

Already from your first request for information about the apartment we will send, via e-mail, two booklets titled 'Useful numbers and lines of transport to reach major points of interest in Paris' and 'Description of the apartment and instructions for its use '. In the first booklet are shown the map of the area around the apartment with an indication of the useful sites (restaurants, banks, shops, supermarkets) that you can find. In the second booklet, will be particularly useful the part related to the utilities (electricity, water, telephone and wi-fi) in order to know what to do to get the light back or to stop a water leak or the gas supply and to restart the heating.

MEANS OF ACCESS

BY ROAD: all freeways arriving to Bologna, namely the A1 (from Milan on the north and from Florence on the south), the A13 (from Ancona), the A14 (from Padua, Venice and Trieste) converge on the so-called 'Tangenziale', a ring road that surrounds the city from the northwest to southwest with 13 exits giving access to the different districts of Bologna; to reach the apartment you should take exit 11 San Vitale.

BY TRAIN: The station of Bologna is well connected with the city and the surrounding area with a good bus and taxi service. Bus 36, which starts in front of the railway station, takes you directly to Mezzofanti bus stop, just in front the apartment and so does bus number 11 which starts from the bus Station, (a hundred meters to the right of the train station)

BY PLANE: a few minutes from the Tangenziale there is the Marconi Airport (connected across Europe especially with low cost flights), 60 minutes along the A13 highway there is the Forlì Airport and 40 minutes further there is the Rimini airport, specially connected

with all the main international tourist routes

About Gianni Bertoni

I am a professor of Aerospace Engineering in retirement. I was born in Ravenna, where my great-grandfather was a carter who carried sand for the reclamation of the marshes around the city, my grandfather was a factor of farms and my mother ran a shop of lingerie and linen for home. At the end of secondary school I went to the University of Bologna with the goal to graduate in Italian literature and to specialize in history, but, for some reason I don't remember quite well, actually I attended the Faculty of Engineering studying automatic controls and history of science (my true passion).

My first job was on the automatic control design of the experimental nuclear reactor managed by the Italian National Atomic Energy Agency, but when Italy decided to retire from the development of power nuclear reactors I entered the University of Bologna to teach Theory of Automatic controls and, then, Automatic controls in aerospace. I am married with a French woman who works in the wine world and, in particular, imports to Italy French oak barrels; from our previous weddings we had 4 children; now we have 9 grandchildren and, while continuing to work, we take care of them as well (but just enough). We're both avid readers and we go gladly to the cinema, to the theater (less) and to the classical music concerts. We often travel in order to visit our children and grandchildren as well as friends and the relatives of my wife who live in Paris.

This small apartment has always been, in fact, a dependency of the apartment upstairs where I moved at the beginning of the 70's, when my children were born; for 40 years has served as a place for everything to do, i.e. for storing old forniture, for the games and study of the children and for accommodating relative es and friends passing by (often also for long periods). Now that my children are grown and left the hause I thought to renovate and expand it to make it available to guests Homelidays

Spacious and comfortable

The top floor flat rather than the lower floor one. Very clean and comfortable, with good views and caring owners. No dishwasher or wifi, but otherwise has most modern amenities. A convenient, quiet situation. I am very happy to stay there on my frequent visits to Bologna.

The lower floor flat is newly modernised. Smaller but very well equipped. I have seen it but not stayed there.

Nel secolo delle lamentele non posso che andare controcorrente, esprimendo la mia totale soddisfazione per aver soggiornato in questo appartamento.

Pulizia, professionalità, simpatia, gentilezza e disponibilità sono di casa, mai ho trovato persone così pronte nell'aiuto, così disponibili ed empatiche. L'appartamento è comodo, vivibile e pulito, in un'ottima posizione, ma quello che fa veramente la differenza sono i proprietari. Ancora grazie. Flavia e famiglia

Linus for life

La casa, situata al piano -1, è davvero molto accogliente e piena di confort. Noi abbiamo soggiornato in 4, ma anche 5 persone possono abitarci tranquillamente essendoci 2 bagni. Assolutamente un'esperienza positivissima.

Nice flat with good circumstance and hospitality.

We had nice stay at this apartment for about 3 weeks with my family(wife, 6yr and 9yr children). There are direct bus to city center frequently taking 5-10 minutes from the bus stop just in front of the apartment. The room is new and clean and owner who lives in upstairs in the same building is very kind. Free car parking was also convenience,

Il gioiellino di Murri

L'appartamento Linus ha pienamente soddisfatto le mie aspettative e reso il mio soggiorno molto piacevole. La sua localizzazione, nell'elegante e tranquillo quartiere Murri ha contribuito maggiormente a rendere unica la mia permanenza. La casa si presenta molto accogliente, ben arredata, pulita e abbastanza luminosa, dotata di tante comodita', con una graziosa cucina fornita di tutto l'occorrente per cucinare e molto altro. Si tratta di un vero gioiellino, reso ancora piu' prezioso dal proprietario molto cordiale, gentile e disponibile. Dovessi nuovamente tornare a Bologna non avrei nessun dubbio su dove alloggiare!! Anche perche' e' facilmente raggiungibile con i mezzi pubblici, dove tra l'altro si trova una fermata di fronte e pure raggiungibile a piedi dal centro.. (se si ha voglia di fare una bella passeggiata!)

PRICES ARE FOR 2 PERSONS AND PER WEEK (INCLUDING LAUNDRY, WATER, GAS, WI-FI).
