Delightful home with terrace for al fresco dining, fully furnished in 2006, metres from beach, and adjacent to islands, the boat ramp, tennis court and great barrier reef. This home has ocean views from the terrace, and is pet friendly. Villa Fay's bathroom facilities were extensively renovated in 2014. For those looking for an alternative holiday from the tourist crowds in tropical North Queensland, Villa Fay and delightful Forrest Beach is your solution.
We are very pleased to share this enjoyable spot and loved family home with our guests
Steven Barra purchased this house in 1980
Villa Fay is a delightful home full of energy and tranquility, within metres of Forrest Beach
Large open spaces with al fresco dining in front of the ocean. Recently equipped with internet and wifi.
We left NZ to enjoy a relaxing week at the Villa, it did not disappoint. The moment we walked into the house we felt right at home. It is spacious, beautifully decorated, clean and has everything you need to kick back and relax. We couldnt of asked for a better place to wind down and de-clutter our minds. The owner is very easy to communicate with and is very proud of the Villa and the surrounding area, giving plenty of local knowledge to help with our stay. We would recommend this to anyone wanting to escape the buzy city life.
I stayed 8 nights for work.
Unbiased report – no prior to connection to owner, who is prompt in all his communications.
I have used self contained accommodation all over Qld – and never found one that is so well provisioned. I usually take my own cutting board, knife, tea-towels and Ajax etc. No need here – it really has it all.
The house is an older high-set Queenslander. It is an ideal beach house for those wanting functionality. Not suitable for seekers of luxury.
The clean concrete ground floor is ideal for vehicle parking, or kids playing.
Entry is from the back of the house only.
Plenty of through ventilation.
Full length front verandah is secure, has fans and lights, with a timber outdoor setting.
» Main bedroom – air conditioned, fan, comfortable bed and wardrobe.
» Second bedroom – two single beds. Not used.
» Kitchen – small but it has everything. Good cutting boards and knives, and plenty of tea towels etc. Plentiful supply of garbage bags, quality dish washing detergent etc.
» There is salt, pepper and other condiments, and if you forget anything, then there could very well be a packet or tin of it in the cupboards.
» Ample and quality cooking, serving, crockery and cutlery.
» Main dining/lounge room is huge, and sparsely but adequately furnished.
» Separate toilet
» Newly refurbished bathroom
Only downside - mosquitoes.
The houses is fully screened; but suggest you bring plenty of personal repellent.
Perfectly positioned in a sleepy beach community, this house has it all... literally! The garlic press and wine glasses were there for holiday dinners and on the lazy days, there's a hotel down the road. Sammee and I had a great time! Regards, Julieanne
A lovely house, very handy and well stocked. It was only the two of us, but we would have loved to take a group there. Forest Beach was a great launch site for us to explore some of the surrounding locations- we went up to Mission Beach and Lucinda and spent a day in each. We were there in the cold snap that went through the East coast, but the house was equipped with reverse air-conditioning and plenty of blankets which kept us warm and cosy.
A place to visit again with friends.
This is the second time we've stayed at Villa Fay and once again it was really enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed swimming at the beach and the lovely long walks. It's close enough to Ingham if you need to catch the shops and Townsville is a convenient day trip.
The house is fully self contained and the living area very spacious. It was lovely to sit on the deck in the evening with a glass of wine and taking in the ocean view. Watch the mozzies tho - they're very friendly. There were some mozzie coils in the cupboard so we lit one or two.
There's a fence around the yard now so our fur baby was safely contained, although the adjoining fence to the neighbour's property is very low so any pup over small size would easily be able to jump it. Also watch the small gap between the fence and the ground in the back corner. Our pup got out once but we were able to block this by using some spare roof tiles we found stacked under the house.
We'll be back a third time for sure.
Villa Fay was the perfect holiday house for a peaceful and relaxing break away with the family. It was lovely and clean and our family of 4 loved the open, airy feel of the home. The bathroom and toilet has recently been beautifully renovated - the shower is huge! The bedrooms are big and are airconditioned and the beds very comfortable. There are ceiling fans throughout and we found the home catches the breeze well. The front deck is shaded from the hot, afternoon sun and is the perfect place to sit any time of the day and take in the ocean view.
The house is situated literally within a 1 minute walk to the beach and only a short walk to the local shop and cafe. Our kids loved spending time swimming and searching for sand dollars, starfish and olive shells at low tide.
Everything you'd want and need is available in this house and we loved that at night all we heard was the sound of waves crashing on the shore.
Thanks Steven. We will definitely be back.
Villa Fay is located in Allamanda Avenue, Forrest Beach's premier street with easy access to the beach and nature reserve. Delightful Forrest Beach is located in North Queensland, approximately 15 minutes from the picturesque sugar cane town of Ingham and only three hours from Cairns and approximately 1 hour from Townsville. Forrest Beach is a short distance from Hinchinbrook Island, the largest island national park in Australia and the great barrier reef is easily accessible as are the towns of Cardwell and Halifax. Close by are Wallaman Falls, the longest single drop in the southern hemisphere, and the Tyto wetlands precinct, featuring access to birdlife, as well as the regional tourist centre, an art gallery, cafe and library. Ingham hosts the Italian Australian festival in May of each year. The zone is a paradise for fishermen and nature lovers.
