Indre-et-Loire Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Located on a hill with a splendid view of the Loire Valley (over 25km), Le Clos de Venise is an ancient 5ha property where one of the best Vouvray wines is produced. Le Petit Venise, the adjacent building, has been environmentally-friendly restored into a gite, preserving its "old" charm but with modern equipments and decoration. Come and relax in the typical atmosphere of Touraine, in a preserved and unique environment. Le Clos de Venise, about 100m away from the village centre, is bright, environment-friendly (cellulose wadding insulation, solar hot water and heating system and natural stones) and equipped to the highest standard. From the ground floor, with all the rooms opened up, you will find a staircase with a corridor leading to the mezzanine bedrooms and shower rooms. This non-smoking gite offers top-of-the-range services for the most demanding costumers interested in French tradition and heritage. Come and discover the "Jardin de la France" (Garden of France) area.

A perfect stay!

  • 5 of 5

We have just left after a week at Le Clos de Venise and we could not have had a more wonderful stay. The house was perfect for our family of 3 children and every evening they played on the grass while we sampled the local wines. The house is exceptional in it's design, amenities, beautiful linen, everything you need in the kitchen etc. The most special thing about the stay however, are the wonderful hosts Francine and Claude. They were very welcoming from arrival and made us feel very much at home. The house is close to the village and an easy drive to other towns and attractions. We couldn't recommend Le Clos de Venise more and would love to return one day!

Elegant and charming Villa in the Loire Valley

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent a week at Le Clos de Venise. We arrived late in the evening after getting lost on back country roads with the advice of our GPS. Francine was immediately available on the phone to help us with our directions and Claude was waiting for us on the street to guide us to the villa. The villa itself is magnificent, newly renovated with modern decor in an old stone house built into the side of the stone cliff. The house is fully appointed with everything you would need to cook a fantastic meal after going to one of the many local markets. The bedrooms are all large and beautifully decorated. It was cold and rainy for much of our time at the villa, but we spent our evenings in front of the fireplace recounting our days of visiting the many chateaux that make the Loire valley so famous. Our hosts were exceptional, they invited us over to their home (the main villa) one evening where they had a roaring fire. We enjoyed some cheese and wine made from the grapes in their vineyard. I cannot say enough about how generous, kind and welcoming Claude and Francine are as hosts.

Access to the main Chateaux of the region is very easy from the villa. The town of Amboise is about 15 minutes away and in this town you will find a large market, lots of great restaurants, little shops and a Chateaux. In the Village of Noisay there is a small food store which carries fresh fruit, fresh bread and pastries and a good selection of other supplies you might need. We dined at the Chateau de Noisay, a relais restaurant, but frankly, I found the food very expensive and quite disappointing. There are better restaurants in Amboise. I would highly recommend this villa. We cannot wait to return. Thank you so much Claude and Francine.

Perfection In Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

It was a typical vacation plan that turned into permanent memories! We didn't know the Loire Valley, but had heard and read so much about the castles, that we were mentally steered to that region. The more we researched, the more excited we became. But first, a place to stay had to be chosen. The moment we found Le Clos de Venise on VRBO, it was apparent our search was over. Still, always in the back of your mind is the question, "can it possibly be as wonderful as they advertise?" We routed our arrival into the Tours train station where we rented a car and took off on our adventure. Within around 15- 30 minutes, we arrived at our destination....worried we had made a mistake to stay in this small, quiet village of Noizay. We soon found the road leading to the "white gates" which were opened to accommodate our arrival! Well, I must say, we couldn't believe our eyes! The owners came out immediately to greet us and lead us to our "home away from home." Stunning! Breathtaking! Could not believe we could be so fortunate! It is like walking through Architectural Digest! There were four of us all immediately taking our places in this incredible environment! We were surrounded by vineyards, one touting an award winning wine which we were fortunate enough to taste! We learned we could walk thru the vineyards and through a gate which opened to a small country store filled with all that you would ever need....chocolate croissants, quiche, etc.....starting off our day on a budget! We are all over age 65. We rented Segways in Amboise (our favorite place to spend time and eat); we drove to and visited eight popular castles; took a cooking class in Varnes Sur Loire; drove to Normandy and went on a D-Day tour; visited a nearby mushroom cave (we did not care that the tour was all in French); etc. There's so much to say, but you need to find out for yourself! Francine and Claude are the most accommodating hostess/host ever! If I could, I would be on a plane headed back to Noizay....Thanks Francine & Claude for the memories! Paradise Found

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at Le Clos de Venise yesterday and awoke to local church bells. We have decided we are not ever leaving. This place is so amazing we won't be able to go home. Just send for the grandchildren and our lives will be complete! Claude and Francine are the perfect hosts. In all our many travels it is undoubtedly the best vacation destination of all! You must experience to believe! Oh yeah! Just day one! Can't wait to see how the remaining nine will turn out!

Brilliant accomodation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Le Close de Venise for a week in August and could not have been more impressed with the accommodation. Francine and Cluade have created a space that has been sympathetically renovated and incorporated stylish, modern touches throughout. The welcome we received on arrival was second to none and it is clear the pride the owners take in their business. We were invited through to have a drink with Claude and his wife later in our stay and were given an interesting account of the history of the buildings and a tour of his own cellar.

The surrounding area is delightful and there is easily enough to see (and drink) for a couple of weeks - the highlight of our stay was a day trip to Chateaux Villandry - the gardens and restaurant were superb and represented excellent value for money in comparison to similar attractions in the UK. I am positive we will be back in the years to come.

Thank you for such a brilliant holiday.

Stephen, Lucy and Henry.
