Jamaica is my piece of paradise. I live in Boston Massachusetts. I always dreamed of waking up to the beautiful Caribbean Sea. I am dermatology nurse practitioner. I bought the villa in June 2014 and I have renovated every room, bathroom and patio. I have purchased all new furnishings and continue to improve the comforts and amenities for your enjoyment.
Kathryn purchased this Villa in 2014

Paradise on the water
We had a fantastic stay at Castle Cove Villa for a recent wedding next door at the Pattoo Castle. The food was excellent, as prepared by the amazing chef, Teddy. Robin was so helpful, and took great care of us. Would highly recommend.
Awesome place & experience!
It was a great place to stay - 5 guys who have been to Negril over 35 times, so we had stayed in all different types of properties- and this was at the top of the list. Everything was perfect, including the prepared breakfast each morning. The caretaker checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed numerous times, she was great, and fun. Great location, the views were amazing, the villa & property had everything you could ever want or ask for in Negril! Kathryn was great to work with!
Incredible Property & View...Great Host
Castle Cove does not disappoint. The owner and host (Kathie) is super easy to work with and will go to great lengths to make your stay 5stars. An oasis tucked away in the west end of Negril, but amazingly close to excellent restaurants, small Jamaican shops, bars, and excursions. Our family of 7, ranging from 25 to 59 in age, booked Christmas week.
The staff at your disposal includes the housekeeper, groundskeeper/ driver and of course the Chef. The chef prepared superb authentic Jamaican cuisine on site, which rivals the best of fare in local restaurants. Upon arrival, he had prepared Jerk Chicken. On a Sunday night, he prepared a full course meal featuring Curry Goat. Christmas Eve meal was outside by the ocean and featured a full course meal with Jerk Pork. They were all incredible. We ventured out to eat a few times just to experience the culture. In-house dining and special request for transportation are obviously extra but in line and typically cheaper than you will pay off the property.
The freshwater pool was a nice touch overlooking the beautiful Caribbean sea. But the best feature of this property includes the sweeping unobstructed views from every balcony and the multi-level access to the turquoise waters in the cove. We swam and snorkeled several days in complete privacy, rarely leaving the property. The grounds and house are well kept.
The interior of the property is comfortable with ample space to enjoy family time or slip away for some quiet time or to read. A large dining table easily accommodates 8-10 people or you can have your meal on the patios or ocean side verandas.
For the first time visitors, Jamacia has a few challenges but the people are extremely friendly and helpful. Airport transportation can be a little hectic and I highly recommend you use the host's professional drivers. Cost is about the same and they are extremely accommodating. If you spend time on the public beach or walking the shops downtown expect to be approached by a few hustlers trying to earn an extra dollar. Similar to Mexico beaches and other countries. A polite but firm "no thank you" will suffice for most.
We almost always rent a car for our trips but this time elected not to. Wise choice, roads are narrow and dangerous. Leave the driving to the locals, you will probably spend less and certainly have a less stressful time on short trips or any local excursions.
Loved the experience and stay.
OK, so here is an honest review of this property, keep in mind...it is Jamaica. Firstly, the property is lovely, well secured and clean. Beautiful views of the ocean, many swimming platforms with easy access by way of ladder just be conscious of the ocean activity as it can be quite rough with big swells so be careful if you have children. With respect to the home, it does need some TLC but in defense of the owner Kathryn, she is on it. She asks to tell her of any repairs that need doing so we did that through her home manager Teddy. Typical things like air conditioner repairs. Every room has an air conditioner and they all worked with the exception of the master bedroom. It was a bit of an inconvenience but opening the doors to the Caribbean breeze was good enough for me although some may want a cooler room. As mentioned in other reviews, the pool deck and the tiled walk way are slippery in bare feet but we found if you have your sandals on, it was fine. Again, be careful of children as they tend to run around barefoot. The only really potentially serious issue would be the access steps leading from the top to the platforms below. There needs to be a some form of barricade to avoid a falling hazard for unsuspecting guests...again, children. Kathryn is aware of it and one of our party members drew out what needed to be done and gave it to Teddy so I would suspect it will be completed in short order. In general, its a beautiful home that requires some minor tweaks, the owner Kathryn is a lovely woman who wants nothing more that for you to enjoy your stay and will go above and beyond to ensure that happens. Teddy, the caretaker is a very nice gentleman (and a terrific cook), the driver Richard, if you choose to use him is awesome, very accommodating. Sassa, who has a fruit and veggie stand on the property is great, always ready to offer a hand when needed. I think its important for first time visitors to Negril to understand that Negril is a very safe place if you keep aware of your surroundings. Not once did any of us feel unsafe while on the property and for added piece of mind, Kathryn employs a security guard who comes at 11pm and stays until morning. Not that we needed one, but it does demonstrate how Kathryn wants her guests to feel safe a secure. If you rent this property be sure to get out and meet the locals. They are all warm and friendly, non threatening and eager to please....for a buck or two, but its Jamaica.
great family vacation
The location of this villa is perfect-wonderful being up on the cliffs, and close to lots of eating options. Robin, the caretaker, is a fabulous hostess-and got us everything we wanted.
We highly recommend Castle Cove Villa!
What an amazing experience our family of thirteen had at Castle Cove! From the moment we arrived until we reluctantly departed, our stay was unforgettable. The house was perfect for our group, with enough bedrooms and bathrooms to make our stay very comfortable, and the breath-taking view from the grounds never got old. Our family thoroughly enjoyed snorkeling in the cove below the house, swimming and relaxing around the on-site pool, and eating on the spacious veranda overlooking the ocean. But aside from all the beauty of this place, it was the people who really made this vacation so memorable. Jackie kept the house spotless (not an easy job with thirteen people, seven of whom were teenagers!), and Nick provided the music that spurred many dance parties and sing-a-longs. Sassa kept us well-supplied with the freshest vegetables and fruits around, while Chef Teddy cooked us a fabulous meal on New Year’s Day. However, we could not have gotten through the week without Robin, whose guidance, advice, and friendship helped make this visit so special. Making suggestions on where to go and what to do (don’t miss Barney’s, the German Bar, Pablo’s for breakfast, and Just Natural!), helping us negotiate the local supermarket, driving us up into the mountains, arranging snorkeling trips in the glass bottom boat, making reservations for us at local restaurants, setting up a street party on New Year’s Eve, chauffeuring us around to wherever we wanted to go, making sure every aspect of our stay was comfortable, interesting, and fun—she did it all, and her help was invaluable! Her knowledge of the area and its people made our transition into Jamaican culture virtually seamless, and we will never forget her and all the other the people who so warmly welcomed us. We can’t wait to go back!
Thank you so very much for your gracious review. Your family was a pleasure to have at Castle Cove Villa. I will pass along your complements to Jackie, Nick Robin and Teddy. We look forward to having you back in the future!
