Why MARIE-ANNE PUYPEROUX chose Beaune area

In the heart of the Burgundy vineyard, in a typical wine village, 3km from Beaune, this old house has been completely renovated in 2013, in a warm and contemporary style. It can accomodate 8 people.

The confort of the house, its large enclosed garden and its swimming pool will offer a peacefull and relaxing atmosphere to discover our wine region.

HISTORY

The house has been built by the Cistercian monks in the 17th century,to store vats and presses. It was used to make the wine until 2006.(Our father was a wine-grower).Its historic character and its location in the heart of the village meant it could not be transformed into a modern winery. The building has been converted into a spacious dwelling, maintaining large volumes, the cellar, and the atmosphere of the original building.

We welcome you on the spot, and live in the village.

In case of problems, we are available.

LOCATION:

the house is located in Savigny-les-Beaune, typical french village with 1200 inhabitants.

Savigny has a longstanding winemaking tradition and is known for its fine red wines, with about thirty producers.

Next to the house, in the same street, are:

- shops: bakeries, butcher, catering, grocery

- Medical center.

- Hairdresser

- 3 restaurants

However, the place is very quiet, in a walled garden.

Great Choice in Savigny-Les-Beaune away from bustle of Beaune

  • 5 of 5

Two families rented the property together in June 2016. Superior choice vs. being in Beaune which is a more crowded, touristy city. Savigny is small and quaint, not much to do but only a few minutes drive to Beaune and surrounding vineyards/winery. House has excellent space including the cellar, where we hired a chef through the owner and dined one night, our own private wine cellar experience! Owner also set us up with a great American guide for the region - took us to small, intimate cellars for truly local tours.

A charming home in a gem of a village

  • 5 of 5

Our family spent two weeks at this charming home. There was more than enough room for 8 adults. The photos don't do it justice! The restoration and renovations done to this former winery are outstanding, and the owners should be proud that they have combined the best of 18th century construction and 21st century conveniences. The home was spotless, comfortable, quiet and very well equipped. We received prompt and informative responses to all enquiries both before and during our stay, and the owners provided a wealth of suggestions (including getting us in touch with a bike rental company that would deliver bikes to the house) on what to do in the area, and arranged a catered dinner for us one night in the home's wine cave. We enjoyed wine tastings, biking to the other nearby towns, and the many fine restaurants in the Cote D'or area. It was a bonus to be able to walk a few steps to the grocery store, bakery and butcher. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Absolutely Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of three couples spent a magical week at this property. Everything about it was perfect! A stunning combination of old charm in the stone building combined with all the modern amenities needed for a comfortable stay. A bathroom for every bedroom, washer and dryer, wi-fi, modern and well-stocked kitchen including dishwasher, spacious living areas...all this kept everyone happy during our stay. A tall wall and grassy courtyard insulates the house from street sounds so sleeping was undisturbed. Step out into the street and there are two boulangeries, a charcuterie and a little grocery store within 100 steps. How very convenient! The village of Savigny-les-Beaune sits on the edge of Beaune and allowed easy access for drives to the Cote de Beaune, Cote de Nuits, Chablis and Beaujolais. I could not imagine a better home-base for exploring the wines, cuisine, shopping, history and beautiful scenery of Burgundy. I happily give this property my highest recommendation!

Excellent house, very conveniently located

  • 5 of 5

Lovely house, very well furnished, in a great location in a beautiful village.

We were two families - four adults and three teens and the house was comfortable, spacious, charming and relaxed.

The house and its location were accurately described. There are two bakeries, a well-stocked general store and a charcuterie within crawling distance of the house. Beaune is a short drive away.

Marie-Anne was very helpful and provided plenty of interesting information about the house and the area.

In the week we were there we enjoyed several trips to Beaune, local walks, supper at the pizzeria in the village, a cycle tour of the vineyards and a great high-ropes course (Acrogivry at Chalon Sur Saone).

We would definitely recommend this house to our friends and intend to return next year.

One of our party is a wheelchair user. Finding accommodation that is both accessible and somewhere you'd actually want to stay, is incredibly difficult, but this house really worked for us. Wheelchair users' needs are very individual, so rather than provide a description here, if you are interested about wheelchair accessibility, I suggest you contact Marie-Anne, who can put us in contact with you.

Exceeded All Our Expectations

  • 5 of 5

We were four couples from Vancouver BC Canada (15 July - 29 July 2017) and all of us loved it. The photographs do not do credit to the size, character and stylish renovations. The exterior is fascinating and the interior sensitively updated in a manner that preserves the past. There is a large open sitting room, dining room and kitchen area with high ceilings , comfortable furniture, good layout in the kitchen and a laundry utility room. We found the main space conducive to gatherings and big enough for eight people to do there own thing -- talk, read or watch the Tour de France at once. The four bedrooms and bathrooms all had access to the outdoors, had light and were private. The pool was just right. There is a large walled forecourt and ample space in the back by the pool to dine outside. We loved this house so much that while we usually ate out during our daily cycling rides we all wanted to have dinner at the house. There are shops (bakery, wine and food) within easy walking distance and larger (if you like super markets) a short drive from Savigny.

We found Marie-Anne and her brother Jean Pierre (who lives nearby) eager to help, answer questions and easy to communicate with. Honestly, I could not recommend a place to stay more.

Thank you, Marie Anne and family. We will be back, no doubt about it. Plans are already afoot.

"We had a wonderful staying at this charming house, which has ben recently renewed with an extraordinary attention to every detail. The house has really a special taste and we enjoyed the atmosphere which the owners have been able to create. We all ( 8 adults) enjoyed the huge and comfortable living room with fireplace as well as the bedrooms and bathrooms which are very well equipped. I would recommend this house to everybody would like to have a relaxing holiday in the center of the Bourgogne's vineyards"
