About Ronda Mathiowetz
Youngest child of 8 in our family. My parents moved to this house right after my high school graduation.
Ronda Mathiowetz purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Ronda Mathiowetz chose Longville
My Mom and Dad's retirement home on Blackwater Lake hold fond memories of family events. Upon their passing, in honor of their love of nature and openness to sharing all that they had, we kept the property to share this up north experience with others.
What makes this Cabin unique

We had a great time on Blackwater Lake! The lake is super quiet and the fishing was great! The paddle boat was a fun surprise! The house was clean and had everything we could ever need. The only minor complaint (very minor) is the shoreline is very weedy. Our kids are older so it wasn't a huge issue to take the paddle boat out further and swim in deeper water, but if you have small kids it would be an issue. We did find a beach 8 miles away that we enjoyed. We hope to stay again next year!
The accommodations were perfect for our group of 7. Loons and eagles were fun to watch, fishing was great. Perfect family getaway. Everything we needed for cooking was there and we had plenty of room at the table for our meals. Playing yard games by the lake was terrific.
Great family getaway, great location and lake.
Our family really enjoyed this property. Loved the porch for morning coffee, great breeze off the lake. We thought that the loft would be used as another space to play cards or games, but adults can't stand up in it. No worries though as there is plenty of room. Large dining room table and all the dishes, pots and pans that you need, plus more. Thanks Ronda for sharing your family story. Loved all the wildlife; deer, wild turkeys, beaver, bald eagles and the loons. Looking forward to staying there next year.
Very quiet area. House has carpet in kitchen and porch which is very dirty. Weedy lake shore.
We liked the quiet area and the low traffic on the lake.
The lake shore line is weedy, not good for playing in the water at shore.
The carpet in the kitchen is VERY dirty. There is also carpet in the three season porch and some in the garage. Carpet needs to go! The garage smelled really bad.
The yard looks as if it gets a quick mow with a riding mower. No trimming done though.
This place is well supplied washer & dryer very nice the dishwasher works great caught fish also Wifi & Netfix was nice thanks Rhonda
Great Cabin on the Lake
The cabin was just what we were looking for, however, we were thankful that only 5 could attend, instead of the original 7. Loft would have been very tight for us old ladies, especially with no railing on loft stairway. But would be great for kids. The downstairs beds were great. And appreciated the two baths. I must say, it is the best supplied VRBO we've stayed in. It would be nice if the porch was updated a bit. But we mostly used the main cabin. If you're looking for a modern new home to stay in, this is not it. But it is great for going to the cabin up nort!!
Quaint cabin on Blackwater Lake, located just off of Hwy 84 between Pine River and Longville, MN.
