He said it would be our new favorite beach house and he was right!

I'm writing this at the risk that it will make this home unavailable because it's being rented by others who read yet another good review. However, I'll take my chances, as it really does deserve another great review. Communication with Vince was fantastic! And I received the return of our deposit very quickly. The home was extremely comfortable - best bed I've slept in for years! You walk into the home thru the garage - which is where you will find bikes, boogie boards, wetsuits and pretty much anything you would need for the beach - available for your use. This was huge for us since there were five ocean eager people in our group. So thank you! The two bedrooms are downstairs - which was nice - also two bathrooms. There is plenty of space to move about. Several times we sat outside of the master bedroom patio in the backyard and enjoyed quiet. The kitchen and another bathroom are upstairs - plus a large couch and a nitch where my eldest son slept. We bbq'd on the patio and enjoyed the sunset and sea air. We pretty much had everything we needed. Stores were super close - even Sea World didn't seem that far of a drive. The beach is as promised, a short walk away. The neighborhood was quiet and extremely safe. We were able to ride bikes and take walks. The beach offered peaceful conditions and great surf. Vince had several suggestions - which we took him up on. My husband even swam with the leopard sharks at LaJolla. He's still showing that picture around. :-) Also, just for the record - we REALLY enjoyed Juanita's restaurant. It's just a little hole in the wall, Mexican place, about 3 minutes driving from the house - but it was amazing and priced very reasonably. Can't think of a thing we didn't like about this vacation or the home we stayed in. We really hope to be able to stay here again - and perhaps again after that. Thanks for a wonderful time and your attention to details, Vince. We'll be back. This place sounds too good to be true - but we found it to be 'our new favorite beach house', as promised.

Ocean view awesomeness

Great location in a gated community. Very little traffic at all so my kids can throw the ball around outside. Easy walk down to the beach and nice pool with hot showers too. Vince was very responsive during our stay and we will be coming back!

Lovely visit!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely and well appointed condo. Incredibly responsive to questions we asked and any needs we had. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. You could see and hear the ocean from the front deck. Enjoyed lounging on the comfy couch in front of the fire on chilly days. BBQ'd fresh seafood almost every day. Access to the beach was easy and any beach toy you might need was in the garage. Laundry facilities were available. Beautiful bedding and towels. A lovely bag of coffee greeted us as a gift. Centrally located so we could take the kids (8 and 11) to all of the sites - Zoo, Safari Park, Aquarium, Legoland. Near the town of Encinitas, but not in the town. Close access to restaurants, groceries etc. Recommend this lovely place highly.

Amazing Beach Retreat in Southern California

SD Rental - Vince Letter - 15

This is the third time that I have been back to this beach house rental and believe me, as long as they are renting out this beach house, I'll be back.. I love it that much! Vince and Bunny (the owners) are the nicest people and always are there to help out, give advice on where to go eat or what to do, Etc... Really Great people! I love San Diego and I have a very close relationship to the Carlsbad area, as I used to go to boarding school (as a kid) at The Army and Navy Academy located outside of the lil town.

This last time in SD, I came in with my parents, my Uncle and his wife. We were there to see my Cousin become the Bishop of San Diego. It was an amazing event and I was so happy to have found this beach house to stay, as everyone in my family was so comfortable and happy to be all together. There was more than enough room for everyone and a bit of privacy as well.. If needed. This is a very clean rental and we all had a great time!! With the beach a few steps away, the cute town of Carlsbad a quick ride away, the amazing amenities of the area and the grocery store so close, who could ask for anything more! There is also a fresh seafood market so very close to the house. We were able to enjoy a BBQ on the front deck facing the ocean and eat fresh fish all together, enjoying the sunset.. Trust me, you will not want to leave.. I never do. LOL.. No seriously, you'll see.. Mark my words. I only have great things to say about this place. It's everything you want it to be and so much more. I'm so happy to have found it, I'm actually planing another trip down this year. With planing to go back so very much, I will soon call SD my second home and I hope to soon call Vince and Bunny my close friends.

Take my advice and stay here. When you leave, you'll ask yourself why you ever stayed anywhere else.. It's that good. (:

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Condo was perfect for our family. We have two young kids 5 & 4 who loved being here. It was great to be close to the beach where we just walk down the stairs and not have to worry about driving to the beach and find parking. Pool is just behind the unit and was large and very nice to use.

They have the place stocked with everything you would ever need for the beach or pool, including noodles, beach chairs, umbrellas, and sand toys. They even had boogie boards and bikes of all sizes. The complex is gated and very quiet which was great. The patio had nice views of the ocean and you could listen to the waves day and night.

The condo is nicely furnished and up to date. Kitchen could use some updating but functioned perfectly well for what we needed. Vince and Bunny are great people, very nice and professional to deal with. We highly recommend staying here. Encinitas is a great little town and very convenient to get to attractions but be in a mellow area too. Thanks for a great vacation!

Great Beach House with Very Thoughtful Owners

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this condo with my wife and two small children. It was great for us! The condo was very clean and the owners were very thoughtful. The condo included lots of free extras like spices, condiments, tennis equipment, beach toys, beach towels, surf boards, and bikes which we really liked. The beds were comfy and there is a small "loft bed" upstairs which would be fine for an 7-12 year old kid. My wife and I like extra pillows and they had several clean ones in a linen closet. It is an extremely short walk to the beach entrance and we walked barefooted. The beach was mostly empty except for a few older surfers. The pool was heated, clean, and felt nice. We went twice and we were the only ones using it both times. Also there was a hot tub which was nice. The location is great. About 10 mins to Legoland. We tried some of the closer restaurants, but preferred those in Encinitas which was only about 7 mins down the road. Kitchen could use a little updating but other than that the place is perfect. I highly recommend it!
