Short stay in summer.
A lovely apartment in a very interesting part of the city, convenient for everything.
Great time in a heatwave
Lovely apartment with great kitchen and bath facilities. The washer and dryer came in handy, too. Great location just a few blocks from the metro and an easy walk across one of the many bridges to the old town (a UNESCO world heritage site second only to Venice). Ana and Mark were always available via email and gave me their phone number if needed. If you go to Lyon this is the place to stay!
Great little place!
My family and I had a great time in Lyon including our stay at this property! After having spent 4 nights at a hotel in Geneva, it was nice to unwind and relax at this well appointed flat. All the amenities are nice and updated - fully functional kitchen and wonderful bathroom space. Would definitely recommend this propery!
Tasteful historic modern apartment
Beautifully decorated historic apartment with all the comforts! Loved our 4 day stay. Lyon lived up to its 'foody' reputation! Especially in this area. Restaurants, boulangerie, bars at our doorstep. Adored our experiences at L'Atelier des Augustins and Notre Maison. Getting on the trams, buses was a breeze. The daily mache along the river was a bonus. Helped as the weather was glorious. The heaters were a godsend as the mornings and evenings were still abit nippy.
I stayed at Les Augustins for a few days in May 2019 - a charming and comfortable apartment, spotlessly clean with everything you need. It’s in a great location near the centre ville and the old town. Highly recommended.
Beautiful historic apartment in great location
My husband and I spent a week in Lyon and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Ana's parents met us at the apartment and carefully explained all we needed to know about the apartment and the surrounding area. They were lovely and spent plenty of time with us making sure we were happy with everything. The apartment, located in a charming narrow cobbled street just a stone' s throw form Vieux Lyon, gives you a real sense of history, especially the entrance to the building. The apartment itself is really spacious with a fabulous bathroom with great walk-in shower - and with excellent water pressure! The bedroom had lots of storage in the separate dressing room and space to store our cases. We found the mattress very hard, but that's a personal thing. This is probably one of the best equipped apartments we've ever stayed in, with plenty of kitchen equipment and utensils (yes, we did eat in a couple of nights!), hand soap dispensers, hairdryer, several boxes of tissues around the apartment (nice touch as we usually need to buy them), and the usually elusive corkscrew (of course, this is France)! There were also lots of leaflets, maps, guidebooks, etc. with information about sights, things to see and do, places to eat, etc in Lyon. One thing we would recommend is that you practise locking and locking the door before you go out for the first time as the lock is quite tricky and there is definitely a knack - and try it before Ana's parents leave so you feel confident. The location of the apartment is great, with the River Saône at the end of the street, across which is the old town, and the Rhône about a ten minute walk away. The immediate area has lots of little independent shops and galleries and plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. We discovered Les Halles de la Martinière just a few minutes walk away where we found delicious vegan and vegetarian food in the grocery and enjoyed a live jazz evening with delicious draught beer in the bar. We didn't need public transport as we went everywhere on foot, although we did enjoy a city tour via scooter one day using the electric Lime scooters which you can pick up anywhere in the city. We ended up in the Parc de la Tête d'Or, which is a must-visit. It's a beautiful 300 acre park with a boating lake, rose garden, small zoo - a really great place for nature lovers or for just chilling out, Many thanks to Ana and Mark and we'll definitely stay at Les Augustins again next time we come to Lyon.
