Los Barriles is 40 minutes north of the San Jose del Cabo airport and less than two hours south of La Paz, the capital of Baja Sur.
The deck wraps around the house so you can be in the sun when it is windy and still have quiet and privacy.
This beautiful casita is on the water with it's own entry to the beach. It has a view of both the mountains and the Sea of Cortez. It is called Casa Siete because it is seven (siete) kilometers (4.3 miles) north of Los Barriles - 2 miles north of North Beach - 1.44 miles north of the intersection of the coast road and the paved road.
The owners, who live in the neighboring casa, are kiters and windsurfers. They can help with any of your questions about this area. Did we mention the we have FREE WIRELESS DSL there.
Even the most novice kayaker can use the sit-on-top type kayaks for touring the shoreline. There are reefs with in a few feet of the shoreline for snorkeling and watching animal life. Lobo (sea lion) visits often and is entertaining to watch. The whales start coming in December and pods of 1,000's of dolphins turn the water silver color.

We decided to buy here in Los Barriles because the community is wonderful. Mexicans and Americans have a very comfortable and friendly relationship.
The property gently slopes uphill to provide ocean front living with an amazing view.
The architecture was designed to provide views, breezes, privacy and an outside area that allows one to be outside without being in the wind and sun and maintain complete privacy.
enjoyed the setting, the house has everything you need even onsite clothes washer. Very comfortable king bed. easy access down the road to great snorkeling and solitude. Los Barilles easy minutes away for shopping and restaurants and rental atv,s
My husband and I stayed a week in March. The privacy is great, the house comfy. We fell into an immediate and relaxed routine of fishing at daybreak from the kayaks and exploring the area or snorkeling in the afternoon. I miss the evenings on the beautiful veranda! Jim and Judy gave us our privacy but were readily available when needed. It was perfect for our first taste of Mexico. We hope to come back! Thanks Jim & Judy!
My husband and I stayed here Feb. 9th-16th. Everything was just as it was advertised. So nice to wake up to the view of the Sea of Cortez. We loved Los Barriles and alk the food was wonderful! Very sad to come back to the cold! Thanks to Judy and Jim!
What a great place to get away from it all! The Los Barilles area is a long hour's drive from the Cabo San Jose airport, I heard about the village from a friend whose father retired here.
Casa Siete is a lovely little house with a wonderful deck overlooking views of classic Baja landscape - blue skies, blue green sea, white cliffs and cacti. The sea life was incredible, just a short paddle away with our snorkels (in the sea kayaks that Judy had available) we found a reef with 20+ different types of fish and other marine life. From the porch we saw hundreds of rays leaping and slapping the waves. We saw a whale and her baby!
Judy also supplied two mountain bikes in good condition for the short (but dusty:) ride into town. The town has just a few restaurants, but they are all pretty decent. We liked the taco stand on the way out of town - scallop, shrimp, and fish street tacos with a cold Pacifico definitely will help you 'get your Baja on'! There's a decent grocery store with a couple of street vendors close by selling fresh seafood. We cooked in quite a bit in the nice little kitchen of the casita, used the gas grill. Our favorite meals were prawn and red snapper tacos with roasted peppers, grilled onions and guacamole.
This area is a mecca for wind sports like kite surfing and windsurfing, we saw some neighbors doing impressive stunts.
All in all, the neighborhood is very upscale and safe, the accommodations beyond expectation and the price affordable. The bed is comfy, the grounds are beautiful, full of flowers and many different desert plants. The casita is very private even though the owner's house is not too far away. The property is gated, I suppose mainly to keep the 'neighborhood' goats and cows from eating all the plants! We had a great time and have been recommending this place to our friends.
My husband and I stayed 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the privacy, gorgeous view and access to the beach. The property grounds were well tended, with native plants and a walkway to the beach. We ventured out in the kayaks on a very calm day and it was so peaceful - my first sea kayaking venture, and I have the paddle blisters to show how far we went.
Judy is very down to earth and helpful to guide us to any destination we wanted to see. We cooked most meals there, thanks to the weekly delivery of fresh fish right to our door. Loved the "wandering" cows and goats too! A definite repeat property for us - we prefer private casitas over condo living any time....
Our 3 week stay at Casa Siete was a wonderful experience. What a fantastic location, right on the beach, with beautiful ocean views from all living areas! We spotted pods of dolphins or grey whales from the deck almost every day! The unit was extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need and there was lots of storage for all our gear. The property was fenced and gated which made it feel very secure. It was only a short drive into town or to North Beach for kiting & windsurfing. Jim and Judy were fantastic hosts, very welcoming and helpful with restaurant and activity suggestions. They also provided kayaks for our use. We will definitely be back and would not hesitate in recommending this property to any future Baja adventurers.
