A lovely apartment in a perfect location
Ca 5393 Vintage is a great place to stay in Venice and Chantal is really nice, helpful and friendly.
A beautiful apartment in a quiet location with quit back waters, near to local restaurants, bars, local markets and some of the sights. Supermarket is also within few minute walk. It’s perfect for sightseeing around the city without get trapped into the inescapable crowds of Venice.
I spent ten days here and really enjoyed my stay. I would be happy to stay here again in the future!
Feeling at home in fondamenta nove
This is our second stay in Chantal's place, first time was in 2012 and we kept fond memories of the place. We usually walk to the wine shop in front of the Cinema, not far away, get prosecco in plastic bottles, then down to the fish market using the gondola-ferry and pick some tuna or canocchie for sashimi. back at the appartment we just enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of fondamenta nove, away from the noisy crowded central streets. On clear days we stand on fondamenta nove and get a nice view of the fuji-like mountains accross the sea. With all this we still managed to get work done, have our artworks exhibited, and set up a few days' conference, with Chantal helping us at every step. This is certainly not the last time we stay in smart or vintage!
Expensive and disappointing
I have been to Venice, Italy many times but it has been 8 years since last visit. Overall the prices have gone up, the mosquitoes were horrific and the people seem to be less hospitable. The money aspect is understandable in a very tight economy dependent on tourism. The inhabitants seemed much more hurried, rude, and impatient with the tourist.
The accommodations were disappointing. The pictures flattered the apartment, beds were very hard, mosquitoes ate us up and kitchen was poorly equipped.
As I said I love Italy and have visited many times. I am by no means an American snob, so my review is well thought before writing.
If you plan a visit to Venice and want to book this apartment, ask location to Train station, if there is basic kitchen equipment and if it is in good repair. Is there screens on the windows, does the owner followup to make certain the accommodations are satisfactory, flights of stairs if older or handicapped, and if it is off season is there an option for air conditioning. Make certain you purchase Euros through your bank before you arrive as exchange fees are high on the island.
So, 2 stars is the best I can give regarding my stay at Chromotherapy.
I am very sorry someone's stay could not be as good as expected.
This disappoints me, as a vacation rental manager, because I do my best to let my Guest's stay unforgettable. I understand that Venice is an amazing, unique city, but actually may not be an easy place for everyone to stay: water, bridges, long walks may be unconfortable for someone.
Since I really love my city, and my aim is to make my Guest's stay even better than expected, I am used to let my Guests warned about what they are going to find as they get to Venice.
First step, is to have a listing with pictures and a full, good description of the location, of the house and its equipment, so that you can choose the accomodation you like more for your next stay.
Second step, is to forward an email containing many informations about the house, the house rules, including web links to maps about the area, to recommended (cheap and good quality) shops, restaurants, supermarkets nearby, public transports... Last step, is to repeat the informations upon check - in, showing how the house works, its equipment, answering all questions, giving tips and advices about what to do.
The Chromotherapy apartment, as all the apartments I rent, is a large renovated house, with a well equipped kitchen, microwave, pots and pans. The matresses are ortophaedic, and they may seem a little hard to someone. We chose them to allow Guests a good rest after long walks. Airconditioning works in Summer, keeping mosquitoes away from your skin, and any room has a touch screen thermostat that allows to set the temperature and ventilation, depending on every Guest's need, in any season.
There is only one thing I ask to my Guests: don't hesitate contacting me if any issue occurs, if you have any doubt, if you need some extra items, or if I can simply be of further help providing anything you need. My phone number and my email address are both provided, and I can be reached 24/7, ready to give a promt assistance.
Nice landlord,nice apartment
Chantal is very nice, explained everything and recommend good restaurant for us,location is good.We have a very nice day there.
We, a family of four, stayed in the apt. for 5 days and had a wonderful time. The location is great, the flat comfortable, clean and spacious. Chantal is the perfect host: Reliable, helpful and very friendly!
We stayed in the Easter holiday of 2015 with 4 people (2 couples) in the Vintage appartment. In preparation of our trip, the communication with Chantal (the owner) via e-mail went very smoothly. On our day of arrival, Chantal was waiting for us at the entrance of our appartment to explain everything about the appartment and its features. She speaks English and French, but for me it was an excellent opportunity to practice my Italian. At that time there was a problem with the lock on the door, but, as promised, an locksmith came to fix it right away. She also responded within a couple of minutes when we had any questions. The apartment is very spacious with all things available, even a caddy to do some grocery shopping like real Veneziani! We stayed there for 11 nights and felt we got the opportunity to really live in Venice in stead of being a tourist. The fantastic location - not to touristy, but with lots of locals bringing their kids to school every morning - was a great aid to that. Needless to say we had a hard time to say goodbye to Venice and this fantastic appartment! And yes, I would recommend it to everyone!
Vintage is a cosy apartment renovated in '70es style, situated in the heart of the historical centre of Venice, between Rialto and Fondamente Nove, in the Cannaregio area.
This colored and confortable apartment is close to the most beautiful areas of the city: you can reach San Marco Square by walking through the picturesque 'calli' and bridges and maybe also taking some shots. We are close to Miracoli Church, SS. Giovanni and Paolo Church, San Canciano, Strada Nova and so on.
Fondamente Nove, at 5 min. from the house, is a 'station' where Vaporetti stop: this allows our Guests an easy access by boat to the city tour, to the Islands of Murano, Burano, Torcello and to the Lido, the elegant seaside of Venice, also popoluar for the international Film Festival.
Beyond all tourist attractions, close to Vintage You'll also find anything You need, such: coffe bars, wine bars (Bacari), restaurants, bakeries, butcher's shops, fish-shops, supermarkets, chemist, perfumeries, florists, clothes shops, shoes shops, etc. If you want to live just like a local, Vintage is the perfect house!
