Perfect stay for a holiday in Piemonte
We had the most fantastic time in Cocconato. The house is beautiful and perfect for a holiday in this area. It has the most breathtaking view. Karen and her family are the most fantastic hosts for people and pets. Everything was taken care of - and we even got a mail, that we could check in early the day at arrival. We really can recommend this place.
We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay in our house and that you liked Cocconato. It does have a lot to offer for a small village. We are happy to welcome guests with their four legged friends - the garden is perfect for everyone in summer!
Thank you for choosing Ca' Ginota and for being such wonderful guests.
Amazing place - we've already booked to go back
We were two couples, one from the UK and one from the USA meeting up for a relaxing holiday in the splendour of Piedmont. We had found this place completely accidentally through this website, and were a little nervous that it couldn't possibly be as lovely as the pictures. But we were VERY wrong! The pictures just cannot simply do justice to quite how amaxing this place is. The views across the valley from both the one bedrom and the enormous picture window in the lounge were spectacular.
The house was so clean, furnished to a good standard with every piece of kitchen equipment that we could need. Both bedrooms are doubles and were kingsize beds with wardrobe and drawers - plenty of room for us both. The kitchen is very modern, complete with dishwasher. Washing machine downstairs was also handy when we spilt red wine and/or pasta sauce over ourselves!
The garden was very lovely and not very overlooked. You can just sit there with a glass of wine and just take in the view!
The shower was also very good.
Cocconato itgself is a little gem of a place. You walk uphill into the town from Ca Ginota, but that does mean it's an easy roll home after a splendid meal in one of the beautiful restaurants of the town! We enjoyed day trips out to Asti, Alba, Turin and Barolo. All of them were about an hour or less in travel time. We had such a fantastic time here - mixing each day out with a following restful day in the beautiful house or garden.
Karen the host was just terrific and extremely attentive - she made brilliant suggestions for restaurants to visit, and even made us reservations at some. She was always on hand to answer any queries we had, and even left us a welcome bottle of fizz, pasta and jar of sauce for us too.
We are already booked for our next trip! It was superb. Cannot reccomend highly enough.
It is always a pleasure to meet our guests and to help them when they ask for advice or recommendations. All the more so when they are such lovely, fun people as this group of friends. We are glad that they enjoyed our holiday home and the setting and look forward to seeing them here again during their next trip - we promise to have some different places for you to discover then!
A lovely week in Cocconato
Our family of four from Finland thought we would like to experience the north of Italy and we were thrilled with the overall experience! We flew to Milan and rented a car. Cocconato is appr. a two-hour-drive from Milan and very easy to reach. We loved our stay in Ca’Ginota. The weather welcomed us also; we left a rainy and cold Helsinki and arrived to a sunny and warm Cocconato. The house was very nice and modern and very suitable for our family (2 adults & 2 children). It had a lovely view of the vineyards and the garden was nice. The house was well equipped and the location was ideal for exploring northern Italy. We visited cities like Turin, Asti, Alba, Biella and we also made a trip up north to Lago Maggiore.
The owners made a great effort in making us feel welcome and they provided us with plenty of information about things to do in the area. We also appreciated the smooth and fast communication, from first email contact to sms’ during our stay.
We definitely recommend this house for a nice stay in Italy!

Thank you for a heart-warming review! We try our best to please our guests and to provide all they need for their holiday. Your kindness in bringing Easter eggs from Finland was a welcome suprise. You are a lovely family and it was our pleasure to meet you all. We are glad you enjoyed Cà Ginota and your holiday in northern Italy.
great house and very welcoming owners
"The holidayhouse was lovely with an amazing view. Everything we needed was there, the house is comfortable and clean. The owners were very helpfull and went to a lot of effort to give us an enjoyable stay. Not only did they put a cot for our daughter, but the also brought toys. They made us feel very welcome."
I booked for a week and stayed three
I was looking for a quiet place and I found it. The view was stunning, very quiet and I could walk into Cocconata for the market or for dinner. I loved all interactions with the owners who brought me a microwave, upgraded the WIFI, brought me clean sheets weekly. If there was any issue they were available and made me feel very at home including a bottle of wine and pasta as a housewarming gift. Highly recommended.. Thank you
We totally enjoyed our we...
We totally enjoyed our week in this recently renovated small house. It's in a lively village in the northern Monferrato area of Piemonte. Beautiful view from the living/dining room down into the valley and across to villages and mountains. Comfortable, simple furnishings with just about everything we needed for our stay. Window screens in bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen; brand new bathroom; small but complete kitchen with fullsize fridge, dishwasher, stovetop and oven, plenty of cooking equipment.
In the village are several restaurants and good food shops. It's about a 20 minute drive down to Asti, and many interesting villages are close by. A lovely area, and not as visited as the part of Piemonte below Asti.
We spent our days exploring villages, finding Romanesque churches, castellos, beautiful drives, wonderful restaurants. There are marked walking trails through the vineyards; terrific local wines.
We loved our week, would certainly recommend it and hopefully will return some day!
Cocconato is a well known village, 30 km from Asti, 40km from Turin airport, 120 km from Liguria beaches and 80 km from the mountains,
Many good restaurants nearby, two large local wine producers. Views of the Alps.
