Renovated in January 2013, with a beautiful view over the canal 'George's Dock', the apartment is perfect for visiting Dublin (all places of interest within walking distance) or as a base for day trips to other cities: Connolly Station (central Station metro / train) is less than 50m away. Busaras (Central Station bus) is 100m away.

ALL MOD CONS FOR A RELAXING HOLIDAY:

The apartment is on the 5th floor with lift, South facing, bright, and located in a private, safe and quiet block, built literally on the canal George's Dock. Supermarkets, pubs, restaurants, pharmacy, ATM etc.etc., just outside the gate. All places of interest are within walking distance (ex. The Spire 8 mins, 10 mins O'Connell Bridge, Temple Bar 13 mins). The apartment comprises of: entrance hall, living room with balcony (table / chairs for 4 people, sofa, 'double' sofa bed, kitchenette (with washing machine), 1 bedroom (mattress 'King size') and bathroom (with shower and bidet .) Owner available in the surroundings (speaks English, Italian and Spanish).

Dublin visit

This cozy apartment is in a quiet location amid the bustle of Dublin. It is easy to get to points of interest around the city by walking or using public transit.

Mauro gave detailed directions to his apartment and also for all the "need to know" tricks inside the apartment. He was timely in responding to our questions before our visit to Dublin and even during our time there.

The washer/dryer was simple to use and the kitchen was stocked with dishes and necessary kitchen items.

I would recommend this apartment to my friends interested in visiting Dublin.

Great location

This is a lovely apartment! Although it's just a few steps away from Connolly, Dublin's main station, there is no noise at all inside. It's in a gated area with lovely grounds, and views of the canal. The facilities are exactly as described and Paolo sent very comprehensive instructions about access, etc. All in all, it couldn't have been better. Highly recommended.

Wonderful

Let's begin with the shower. After a 15 hour journey from the western USA, the shower at Mauro's apartment is a life rejuvenating treat! Climb in, turn the knob to hot, and let it rain down on you! Perfect pressure, perfect temp. Life is good! Now you're ready to tackle Dublin and enjoy some of Irelands finest craic!

Octoberfest begins in mid September in Dublin and the event is a two minute walk from the apartment at the George's Dock event area. Through out the year George's Dock has something going on nearing every week. And if there isn't a party there, the CHQ building next door has Epic Ireland, (http://epicirelandchq.com/ ) a new tourist "attraction"....The CHQ has some nice boutique food shops as well.

Mauro's apartment is located behind Connolly Station where you can pick up the DART (commuter rail) and journey to several Irish Seaside communities...each with their own special charm. You can also catch a train to all parts of Ireland from Connolly, as well as the localized LUAS tram system. Buy a LEAP card for 5 Euro and load it up with 20 Euro and you can ride Dublin Bus, DART and LUAS for probably a week.

But, Dublin is also a walkable city and Mauro's apartment makes walking to O'Connell Street, Trinity Collage, the Temple Bar area, Grafton St and Henry St, a short walk of 15-20 minutes. There's a Tesco up the street on Talbot for general groceries, a 5 minute walk to Fresh (http://freshthegoodfoodmarket.ie/) in the Docklands area and several smaller stores near by. BTW...there's a bank ATM in the CHQ building and another at a small Spar Market near the CHQ building.

Mauro's apartment is well appointed with good utensils, dishes, basic TV, etc. The beds are very comfortable and the apartment is very clean. We had some internet slowness issues while there, but they appeared to be the fault of Vodafone and not Mauro's set up. The apartment complex is gated and very safe and very quiet! Standing on the balcony it is hard to belief you're in a major city! It's quiet and you can see stars! I was wandering the area at 4:30am to get a taxi and felt safe. This was my second stay at Mauro's and it's been a genuine pleasure to work with him each time. I highly recommend staying here!

A very comfortable stay in a location that perfectly suited my needs

This is a very cosy apartment in a great location just steps from Connoly Station, and convenient for the Convention Center (5 min walk), the city center and the airport. In the heart of the financial district yet lively enough with a number of bars and restaurants close by. The owner, Mauro, could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. And keyless entry with exceptionally useful step by step instructions made arrival and departure efficient and convenient. The complex is gated and surrounded by water, making one feel both secure and serene. definitely hope to get back to this place for a visit when I can spend more time playing and less time working.

Perfect Apartment in Dublin's Nicest Area

I could not begin to recommend this apartment enough. From the very beginning, Mauro was nothing but helpful and accommodating to us, from him sending us detailed instructions to his wife calling me to help me with the washing machine (which came in extremely handy, by the way). The apartment is located near the IFSC financial district, right in front of Connolly train Station and Buaras bus station. The neighborhood is so vibrant and young, filled with young professionals and families. The Luas tram is located just a short 2 minute walk down the road, which will take you directly to O'Connell Street, the 3 Arena (which is walking distance), and Heuston Train Station. Cross the bridge to easily walk in 10 minutes to Grafton Street and Trinity College or Pearse Train station.

The apartment itself was amazing. The main bedroom has adequate closet space, drawers, and possibly the most comfortable bed I've stayed in while away from home. The bathroom has a great shower, and Mauro provided an adequate number of towels for us. Though we never used the kitchen for cooking, it is nicely stocked with cookware and plates and utensils. The sitting room has a very comfortable futon and also a couch. Spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable, I was overly impressed. I felt incredibly safe in this area, as there are 3 passages/security coded entrances to pass through before you are actually in the apartment.

I would highly suggest this apartment rental to anyone of my friends or family and definitely hope to stay here again in the future. Eventually when I move from Chicago to Dublin full term, I hope to find an apartment in this area and would be lucky to find one as lovely as Mauro's.

Great Location for Exploring Ireland!

My husband & I stayed for 19 days in Feb/March. The pictures are an accurate reflection of the apt. Mauro was easy to communicate with & the detailed instructions provided prior to arrival were well done. The automated locks & gate/door codes were a bonus. No need to carry house keys. The apt is in a safe neighborhood located directly behind the Connolly rail station. The tram/bus/commuter Dart and main train station are all within a few blocks. Buy a LEAPCARD at the airport visitor desk to use for transportation. Take a trip out to Howth and Greystones on the commuter rail! You can take the tram to the Heuston station to make other train connections. Use the Busarus tram stop early in the morning, right around the corner from Connolly station. We took trains every few days to various cities.

The SuperVal and Iceland grocery stores about 2 blocks down on the right side on Talbott St. Great pastries in the Tesco grocery store further down onTalbott. The value Pizza place with a great lunch special on same street near the train station. Talbott St connects to O'Connell street where you will find the Dublin bus tours, the sightseeing buses and the cellphone stores. We got a great value for a SIM card for 20€ with phone min & 15gb data at 3 mobile for the month. You can use a computer & printer services at the Western Union on Talbott ST for boarding passes & attraction tickets.

If you take the airport bus to Talbott St be sure to alert driver you want to get off at that stop and BE DOWNSTAIRS (if sitting upstairs on the bus). If not, you will miss your stop. Get off the bus and turn back towards the direction the bus came from. You will be looking right at Connolly train station. The pedestrian walkway is directly in the middle on the street level. This wil lead you to the back side of the station where you will see the RED brick bldgs that house the Customhouse apt. Use the gate code provided.

FYI..There is no clothes dryer but a rack is provided to lay the clothes out. Like many places in Europe the shower stall is the size of a phone booth.

We enjoyed our stay and the apt couldn't have been better located for our travels. Irelaid was beautiful and the people extremely friendly. We look forward to our next visit!

Dublin is renowned for its festive atmosphere and the friendliness of its people. The many lively pubs available in the city are usual destination for tourists looking for enjoyable hours and some "craic". But Dublin is not only nightlife... Many places are well worth a visit (Trinity College, the National Museum, the Botanic Garden, the shopping areas of Grafton Street and Henry Street etc.etc.) there is something for everyone!
