"Le Loriot" jardin, que c'est beau !!!

  • 5 of 5

superbe !

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully restored gite

  • 5 of 5

This gite had everything we wanted. We travelled from Scotland on a 2 day journey to get there and it was well worth it. We arrived without milk and Ghislaine and Olivier very kindly took us to their own house and gave us some of theirs! They were very kind and spoke excellent English, much better than my French! We cooked and ate every night in the garden, and when the sun went down we spent the nights watching the stars with a few glasses of wine. The view over the rooftops was perfect and the garden gets the sun for all of the day until early evening, by which we were happy to have shade as temperatures were unusually high! The gite itself remained lovely and cool as it was downstairs from the garden. The stairs are fairly steep so take your time! The gite is at the top of the village, with a bit of a climb but that's why the views are so exceptional. The village itself is one of the prettiest in the area, I would recommend a visit to the local glass blower, it was fascinating to watch and you can buy the end results.

There are many markets in the area and the range and standard of produce available just made us realise how limited our choice is in the UK. We bought so much beautiful food and enjoyed cooking it every night except one, when we ate in the village. There are several restaurants but only one open in the evenings - where the food was excellent.

The one trip I would highly recommend is Latour Marliac at Le Temple Sur-Lot - this waterlily garden was truly the highlight of my holiday, it was stunning. I would love to go back.

Superbe location

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5
