Big chalet (160 sam) completely renovated in 2012, with optimal comfort, and with high-standing decoration. 3 bathrooms, a kitchen decorated by an Italian designer, a 50 sqm living room with balcony. 2 parental bedrooms (one with private dressing room), and a big room for children with double bed and a mezzanine with 3 extra beds, with it's own complete bathroom. Very peaceful and with panoramical view on the Alps. Ideally located at 3 km of the ski slopes of the 4 Vallées (Thyon 2000 to Verbier). The bus stop for the ski slopes is only 50 meters away.
Living in Geneva, with my family, I am only 2 hours away from the chalet where we love spending long weekends and holidays.
Sylvie Johannot purchased this chalet in 1600
As a child, I spent all my sommer holidays at the chalet, and then the winter ones too after my mother installed heating! It's a old family chalet, which has been ours since it was built, back in the XVIIth century! I inherited the chalet 3 years ago and spent the following 18 months renovating it. It was very important for me to keep its historical cachet, whilst adding all the modern confort.
Beyond renting in, it's first and foremost a family chalet where we often gather. This means it was renovated for my personal use first, and then only in view of renting it. All the materials we chose, the fact that we wanted to give value to it's original wooding, the decoration and the furniture, you will feel our attention to detail as soon as you step in.
We have just returned from a fantastic ski and snowboard holiday staying at the lovely Chalet Tyrdo. The chalet is full of character and is finished to a very high standard, with a perfect mix of home comforts and style. We couldn't believe how big the chalet was, there was certainly plenty of room for our group of four adults and two teenagers.
The chalet is in a beautiful location with amazing views over the valley and has a lovely balcony to sit and watch the sun set whilst enjoying an aprés ski beer and snacks.
The ski lifts at Ours and Veysonnez are each about 5 minutes drive with plenty of parking. We also drove about 15 minutes to Nendaz and about 45 minutes to La Tzoumaz, so we were really able to make the most of our lift pass with relatively little travel - just perfect!
I cannot recommend this chalet highly enough, it's definitely one of the nicest places I've stayed in for a snow holiday and Sylvie and Marie-Helene were both fantastic in helping with the booking and ensuring our stay was everything we wished for.

From Geneva, take the motorway till Sion (160 km) and take the exit for Sion-Ouest. Climb in direction of Veysonnaz. At the crossing for Veysonnaz or Mayens-de-Sion, turn left and follow Mayens-de-Sion. After 8 hairpin turns, and having crossed the village of Les Agettes, you will have on your left 6 recent chalets, and a row of public parking places. Our Chalet Tyrdo is 50 meters higher, on a private road going down to the right (this road is not of easy access if there is ice).
We recommend in Evolène (20 min away by car) the typical restaurant 'Le Vieux Mazot, chez Raymonde' where you can eat the best cheese raclette melted on fire, and why not a T-bone steak.
15 km away from Sion you can find the Thermal baths of Saillon to spend a relaxing day instead of skiing.
And for lovers of walks, discover the Bisses, those flat paths criss-crossing the mountains, ideal with younger children or older relatives.
