The accomodation of the traveller willing to discover the lure and contrasts of Palermo, the privilege to reside in an aristocratic XV century palace still inhabited. Located in the old town centre, beside the Cathedral in Via Vittorio Emanuele, there's no better place to visit the city without efforts: from the old markets to the town landmarks across the ancient meandering alleys. Enjoy an authentic experience living in the old city.

After many years around the world, following my husband's diplomatic career, we decided to come back to Palermo.
This apartment, located in Palazzo Mango were we live, was once used by friends. We are now pleased to welcome guests and visitors; we hope to successfully guide them from the best starting point in the discovery of Palermo.
All the amenities in the middle of the city, in a characteristic location. Fall in love of our huge-stone foundation wall and the matchless position of our house, with a fascinating history.
We visited Palermo for 4 days in February. I chose an apartment which I hoped was well situated, warm and comfortable and we were not disappointed. Virginia was very helpful when we arrived in the evening, giving us tips on where to eat and what to see in our short time. The apartment was warm, large and very nicely decorated. It is located in a very central area within the old city and, although it is very close to tourist attractions, we did not hear any noise in the evening. I would certainly recommend the apartment to friends.
We recently spent 5 days here in June. Virginia is a wonderful host and provided a great overview of the city and its highlights upon our arrival. The apartment is well-equipped (great wifi), well-located, and perfectly accommodated our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teenagers). I loved the historic character of the building. We highly recommend the apartment.
Spent 3 nights at the fully furnished apartment. Virginia was there to greet us, as we had arrived late, and provided us with an excellent overview of the area along with maps and handy information. Virginia's hospitality along with assistance in providing reliable local airport pickup made the trip seamless. Excellent location and close to all the highlights. The apartment is outstanding. It is safe, large, clean and well appointed; far exceeding a stay in a hotel. It would be a pleasure to come back and stay for an extended period of time. A great city to spend a few days in.
We stayed at the beautiful Foresteria della Cattedrale for 12 weeks from Jan-Mar 2016 and could not recommend it more highly! This is an authentic, gorgeous 15th century palazzo in the heart of the Old Town of Palermo and 1.5km to the central station, perfect to base out of for tourists. It is walking distance to the Norman Palace, several beautiful old churches, the Quattro Canti intersection and the Massimo Operahouse. Both Mondello Beach and Monreale are accessible by the local bus.
Virginia is the kindest hostess, responding quickly and taking care of any questions or issues that rose before and during our stay. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had anything we needed. She is very refined and a wealth of information on Palermo and Sicily in general. Her recommendations were spot on and it was a pleasure interacting with her.
The apartment looks exactly like in the photos and is tastefully decorated with beautiful antique furniture and art. Palermo is not the most beautiful city so it was always a relief to walk into this beautiful oasis of an apartment. It is spacious, clean, and has everything we needed for our 3-month stay.
Since we had a 3-year-old and a baby, we appreciated that everything we needed for them was within walking distance. There is a Lidl and a Carrefour Market within 1km and both Capo and Ballaro street markets are even closer. There is a pharmacy across the street from the apartment. Within walking distance is a small park with large banyan trees next to the Carrefour, the beautiful Villa Giulietta gardens next to the Botanical Gardens, and the Parco Orleans has as of this writing a small "zoo" with lots of birds. The Giardino Inglese is a short bus ride away and has a small kiddie park.
The only downside was due to the very thick stone walls, it has weak mobile and Wi-Fi signals. We used an ethernet cable when we needed a faster connection but for most daily usage (email, social media, browsing), the Wi-Fi was fine.
We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Sicily!
We had a lovely stay in Palermo, which exceeded our expectations, and Foresteria della Cattedrale contributed positively to,our impression. The location is hard to beat, a half block from the Cathedral and just off Via Vittorio Emmanuel. Virginia Fatta is an excellent host, welcoming us with a bottle of wine and snacks. Her flat is large and well appointed, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, all surrounding an open central courtyard. We particularly enjoyed one of her restaurant recommendations, Pizzeria Frida, within easy walking distance. We highly recommend this accommodation for your stay in Palermo.
Wow! We spent a little less than a week in Palermo in the Via delle Scuole palazzo, and we should have devoted more time to an under-estimated city, with lots to offer. The apartment is very large, with three bedrooms, two baths, a living area, a television area and a separate dining room. It suits six comfortably, with lots of privacy and personal space, and two more could be accommodated without discomfort. It is exceptionally furnished, and the kitchen is fully equipped. Shopping is metres away, on the main street, and the local street market for all sorts of fresh food is only two or three blocks in the other direction. Although located on Palermo's main street, adjacent the Cathedral, it is not noisy. There is outside parking, after a fashion, and it works, as we can attest. Virginia is an exceptional hostess with an intimate knowledge of the city and the region, and the arrangements on arrival and departure were flawless. If you want to be in the historic centre of Palermo, an eminently walkable city, with public transport to nearby sites like Monreale, this is truly a remarkable place to stay and enjoy and a property where you can feel comfortably at home.
Easy access from the motorways through Corso Calatafimi exit. Connections with the airport via train (Orléans-Palazzo Reale stop, 10mins walk), taxi (ar. €50), shuttle from central station. Private transfers upon request. Car park in Piazza Sett'Angeli. Bus stop just opposite to the building.
Snack bars, self services for breakfast/lunch along Corso Vittorio Emanuele. In 5minutes walk range, a whole set of traditional Sicilian/Arab restaurants, the renowned open markets ("il Capo", "Ballarò" and "Vucciria" - the latter being a nightlife center), Master Argento's "Pupi" Theater, the Royal Palace, "Quattro Canti" and...lot's more!
In 15 mins, the XIX- XX century city gravitating around Viale della Libertà, including the notorious squares dominated by Politeama/Massimo theatres and the elegant shopping area.
