Overview

About the property

A spacious, light and quiet 2 bedrooms one block away from the historical centre

THE SPACE

The accommodation is in a late 19th century building, one block away from the lively Jordaan district (and the edge of the historical centre), but in a very quiet area.

In the two bedrooms (free of any personal stuff and clothes) we have 4 single beds, which can be combined in accordance to your needs: 2 doubles, 4 singles or 1 double and 2 singles.

Both bedrooms have LED smart tv with UK, German, French, Spanish, Italian and many more satellite platforms. Also, you can login with your Netflix account.

On the same floor there is a bathroom -with floor heating- with bathtub and large sink and a separate wc with small sink. Both have marble flooring.

Equipped with stair gates, high chair, baby cot and diaper changing pad.

We also have a nice and sunny balcony overlooking a marvelous and quiet court.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

The best thing about our neighborhood is enjoying great tranquillity while living literally two steps away from some of the best restaurants, shops and markets in town, and having the most popular spots (Dam Square, Canal Belt, Westerkerk, Central Station, Anne Frank's House, Red Light District, Leidseplein...) within walking distance.

If you don't fancy a walk or renting a bike there's trams and buses leading you everywhere in town.

Our area itself is a strongly up and coming one, thanks to fantastic redeveloping projects like the Westergasfabriek and, more recently, De Hallen.

WALKING

Everything in the center, the up and coming West neighborhood and the Museum Quarter are literally within walking distance.

BIKING

Plenty of bike rentals in the area.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Tram 3 leads you to the Museumplein and De Pijp.

Tram 10 to the Leidseplein.

Tram 14 to Dam Square, Kalverstraat, Rembrandtplein, Waterlooplein and the zoo.

Buses 18 or 21 to Central Station. Bus 21 in the opposite direction to P+R Bos en Lommer (the closest Park & Ride, 10 minutes away).

PARKING

Parking in Amsterdam is very expensive (between 4 and 5 euro per hour!), but there's the cheap alternative of the P+R (Park + Ride) arrangements.

It costs 8 euro for the first 24 hours and then 1 euro per day if you arrive before 10:00 or just 1 euro per day if you arrive after 10:00, and you can get discounted public transport tickets to get to the final destination and back to the parking.

The address of the closest one (P+R Bos en Lommer) is Leeuwendalersweg 23B.

If that is full you can turn to the P+R Sloterdijk (Piarcoplein 1).

BOAT AVAILABILITY

For during your stay you might find interesting (if the weather is good) to hire a boat to go on the canals by yourself. You can use my subscription to a nice boat sharing company just round the corner.

No particular driving licenses required. I can also book it in advance for you. Just tell me which day and time you wanna go and I will arrange it for you.

CHECK-IN

Check-in and baggage drop can from 12:00 or at any time if the previous guests have left already (otherwise luggage drop only). But the accommodation can only be accessed once the cleanup is finished, and the time may vary (usually it's around 15:00).

CHECKOUT

Check-out is at 12:00, but if no one's coming on that day or comes pretty late it's possible to arrange a later check-out time.

It's still possible to leave the luggage until your desired time.

SMOKING

Smoking in any form is only allowed on the balcony.

EXTRA PEOPLE

In Amsterdam is forbidden to guests houses without hotel license to rent to more than 4 people contemporarily, therefore our accommodation is only equipped to sleep 4.

We can still host one baby small enough to sleep in the baby cot, but under no circumstance we can allow an extra fifth person or more, at any time during your stay.

INVOICE

Being a legally registered accommodation, I'm able to provide for a regular invoice, if you're traveling for business.

Great location- Nice quiet neighborhood within walking distance to parks, museums, grocery store.

Would highly recommend this place. They were very accommodating with answers to questions. We failed to ask where the washing machine was, but you can get access to it. The location was in a nice quiet neighborhood yet within walking distance to every where we wanted to go. Grocery store only 2 blocks away and bus stop or tram were also very close. Made a lot of our meals yet went out to many unique bars and cafes. Would not hesitate to use this place again.

Comfortable apartment in a nice location.

  • 4 of 5

Apartment was well situated in a nice and quiet neighborhood, but close to amenities. Stores, restaurants, and shops close by. The apartment was comfortable and well stocked. The balcony was a nice feature. The owner was away on the day we arrived and so we had to check in with the cleaning person. This person did not speak english, and we do not speak dutch, so the check in was brief. Not much information given. The website stated that this apartment has a washer and tumble dryer. But they were not available, or visible to us. There were two locked closets, maybe they were in one of those?? Fortunately we did not need the use of them. But overall the apartment was clean, comfortable and very pleasant. Would stay here again (but would want to know about washer and dryer).

Too short a stay, but a great spot

  • 5 of 5

We didn't have a chance to take full advantage of Flavio's great apartment....but we enjoyed the time we did spend there. It is well located and a comfortable space for a family of 4. Flavio was very helpful before we arrived and easy to contact. Perhaps we will have a chance to stay there again.

Great location, good host

  • 5 of 5

Great location In the hart of the city next to a kids playground, boat dock landing. The apartment felt spacious with a nice view of the back yard. The host was accommodating let us drop off our bags early. Very receptive to questions over text message. We enjoyed our stay.

Great Amsterdam apartment for a family of 4!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four stayed at Flavio’s very nice apartment for a one week spring break. This is a great location- a super quiet, nice, residential neighborhood very near convenient tram and bus transportation. The apartment itself has a lot of space, and the beds were very comfortable and can be configured in a couple of ways. We really enjoyed the balcony at the rear of the apartment, which opens to the courtyards and gardens behind the buildings, with lots of birds (including parakeets) flying amongst the trees. The apartment is three flights of stairs up, though our understanding is that this is the norm for Amsterdam. There are several very good grocery stores very nearby, and there is also a very nice playground about a block away at Frederik Hendrik Plantsoen which is more adventurous than most US playgrounds. Flavio was very helpful and responsive before and throughout our stay and really made us feel at home. He recommended a car service to and from the airport which was very affordable, extremely timely, and really nice. There are a washer and dryer available for use, but they are in a closet off the hallway on the same floor as the apartment, not in the apartment. You’ll have to ask Flavio to use them, and they are slightly trickier to use than washer/dryers in the US due to typical Amsterdam building constraints. The apartment has changed in one way since the pictures on VRBO were taken- the wall to the left of the couch and TV has been closed in, which made that end of the apartment a little bit darker than shown.

Great neighborhood, very nice owners

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is on a quiet street, just off the Canal District. It has easy access by tram to the train station and to other sites.

Flavio was charming.

There was some construction happening on the floor below us that required a bit of navigation around materials when we first checked in - but that was resolved quickly. The construction workers were considerate and didn't bang too early in the morning. My husband is an architect so he enjoyed discussing the project with them and with Flavio.

The apartment is up several flights of stairs - but is quite nice once you arrive.
