Want the absolute finest? This is the real deal! THE PICTURES DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE! REALLY! If you are looking for impeccable craftsmanship and immaculate cleanliness that is 5 star quality and a cut above all the rest, you've found it! This is the very best! Hand built by the owner with materials from around the world, this 3500 square feet home sits on 4 manicured acres. It features pines and a huge grove of Aspen trees bathed in a sea of wildflowers.
This is not a kid friendly house and we try very hard to make it top notch. We have to limit the number of quests due to septic restrictions. It IS the finest place to stay for adults.
Water feature? In the front yard and viewable from the dining room is a seasonal stream that cascades over a 400 ton rock waterfall. This provides drinking water for the wildlife that gathers here.
Wildlife? On any given day you could see deer, elk, bear, bobcat, raccoon, rabbit, squirrel, coyote and birds of all kind frequently drink here.In the past we even had Condors! Keep your eyes open for our resident flock of about 40 wild turkeys that will eat out of your hand!
With 9 skylights, there is plenty of natural illumination and the massive walls make the home a refuge of solitude. Log accents and vaulted ceilings abound. The upper level features a vaulted entry through a handmade mesquite door, living room with wood stove, kitchen with dual fuel range, Advantium oven, dishwasher, enormous garden window, and distressed hickory cabinets. Of course, almost every kitchen appliance and utensil you could want is there, too.
Decks: There are two, one in the front and back. The rear deck overlooks the Mountain Man Rendezvous scene from 'Centennial.' At night, relax and watch the canopy of stars in the velvet sky.
Home Theater: Not a TV with a few speakers, this is a dedicated 5.1 channel audiophile room with high end equipment, acoustically tuned, and recliner chairs for 3. The sound qulity easily exceeds commercial theaters.
Kitchen: Just about every imaginable appliance and tool you need is there.
Bedrooms: All have luxurious high end mattresses and the finest bedding.
The master suite has a king bed facing the stone gas powered fireplace,a TV with its own satellite receiver and a wall of mirrors covering the walk-in closet.
The master bath is a wonder of stone imported from Greece, India,Mexico,Italy,Brazil and Tennessee with a rock wall on one side. A vessel sink is framed by two antler sconces. This is also accessible from the front deck. The deck off the living room has great views of the area where the Mountain Man Rendezvous was filmed for 'Centennial'.
Down the beetle-killed pine spiral stairs to the lower level and you'll find a tiled tour-de-force full bath, a smaller bedroom with a trundle bed, and an open luxurious Queen bed suite with a huge stone fireplace fronted by a solid copper grille, complete with its own 32 inch TV.
Off in its own room is another pillowtop Queen bed and leather massage chair, ready to ease those stiff muscles from a day of hiking.
Work it out! There is a mirrored exercise room complete with home gym, bicycle on magnetic track stand, and other equipment.
Sit out on the porch at night and watch the moon through the quaking leaves of the aspen reflecting in the pond. Solitude, yet only 3 miles from downtown Estes Park.
Hiking: Just out the door and up the road to the National Forest, 1 1/2 miles to RNMP, or take the short three mile hike to downtown Estes Park.
Dining: Some of the best dining is close by, and you don't have to fight the traffic to get there.
There is a door to the master suite but the wall is open across the top. This is an open plan and the privacy comes from being the only bedroom upstairs.
Please Note: Absolutely no tobacco products of any kind and we request you leave your shoes in the entryway. Sorry, no pets of any kind, and children TWELVE and over due to the exceptional high end finish and safety issues. We are also limited to 6 people total as this is on a septic system. However, for the ultimate luxury stay that exceeds high end hotels, and for those that appreciate and take care of a fine home, this property has no peer. .

This was my personal home for 16 years, and it is built, by me, around the original little log cabin. Materials and techniques were used that were the first in Estes Valley, and some are still in that category. Incredibly energy efficient and quieter than any home in town (with the doors and windows closed) I had a lot of fun with the tile and stone. This is a unique property and unlike anything you are used to. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did building it. And since it was my primary residence, it is filled with personal property that makes it a home, not just a vacation rental. You will feel the difference.
My parents brought me to Colorado for the summers starting when I was 3 months old and I finally moved here in 1990. I worked on the house off and on for 12 years to get it to its present state. I love researching technical manuals and applied a lot of cutting edge techniques to this house. Now that I am working as a financial planner in California, I don't get the time to do as much building as i would like, but i still have the tools!
Mike Bryant purchased this cabin in 1990
There really is nothing like this in the area. It is unique, but the anal attention to detail is what sets it apart. If you look closely, you will see the effort, from the tile work to the circular stairs, which were made from trees on property I own. It is so quiet and peaceful, yet close to town. And the stars at night! Lots of animals go through the yard, and stop to drink. Can't beat it. The location lured me in. At the time there were only 12 families living in Little Valley and the setting is so nice with the aspen trees and running stream.
Close enough to town but isolated among most of the aspen trees in Little Valley the spring fed stream and hillside provides lots of flowers, cover for wildlife, solitude, and awesome sky views at night. Hiking is right out the front door and there is never a day without some kind of wildlife paying a visit.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful mountain home with us. It was perfect for our family. We caught up on movies in your home theater room. Perfect. Thanks for the best vacation home ever!
We had a GREAT stay! The house was perfect for our week long stay. We had 2 adults/2 teens in our party. The house was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. We used the propane grill to cook many of our meals. Enjoyed the front deck. From the property, we saw a herd of 12 elk (5 calves), numerous turkey and chicks, and mule deer. The property is convenient to many RMNP hikes and grocery shopping/dining in Estes Park. Michael, the owner, was courteous, and went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. We would stay here again. Thank you Michael, for sharing your wonderful home!!
Our family loved our 4 night stay in this lovely cabin. We saw wild life out our windows, took an amazing hike just up the road on trail #119 and watched movies at night in the theater room.
My family and I enjoyed a lovely Memorial Day weekend getaway at this beautiful mountain home. Michael, the owner has furnished this home to meet every expectation. The home is about ten minutes from downtown Estes - just close enough for convenience, and yet removed enough to enjoy the beauty of nature and to enjoy the serenity of the mountains. We had the great opportunity to see dozens of Elk daily.
This house is highly decorated and highly furnished! Everything you need to enjoy your mountain get-away is right here. The owner, Michael, is a blast to work with. Everything is top-notch and well thought out. Lots of directions guide you in the use of all the accessories this home has to offer. Another unique feature of this home is no central air or heat. You don't need it. If you get cold, start a fire in the wood stove....there's plenty of wood! We enjoyed the deck and propane gas grill. Our favorite thing was stopping on our trek down the mountain to the village each morning to watch the elk. We had our own private herd of them who were blocking the road each morning. It was amazing! Thanks Michael! Your vacation home is amazing!!
This is a beautiful, well maintained and comfortable home! Located in a quiet little valley set in the mountains, this house combines high end furnishings and artwork, with all of the appliances, and necessities to make for a wonderful vacation home. Like others have said, the pictures tell the story--what you see is what you get! One evening a herd of elk were browsing in the driveway and the hill across from the house. A turkey with 5 chicks visited every day. We liked the fact that its a 10 minute drive to town/groceries, RMNP, etc. We were 5 adults and our 18 month old grandchild (I would not recommend this house for families with active little children--too much breakable stuff) --and we all fit very comfortably in the house. Great cell reception in the house--but no wifi. The theater room is unique--there is a full size statue of early Las Vegas Elvis, theater seats, and terrific entertainment equipment. Lots of books, games, etc. Lots of instructions for how to make appliances, TV, etc. work. The place was spotless when we arrived--and we were sorry we had to leave! The owner is very easy to deal with and we would book this place again in a heartbeat.
What a great place to stay in the mountains! The pictures listed are exactly how we found the property. Well maintained functionally and 100% clean. A wonderful balance of luxury in the wilderness. Close enough to town to easily get supplies or a meal, yet far enough into the woods for complete serenity. Relatively easy to find, on well maintained roads; 4WD isn't needed.
The kitchen appliances and utensils had everything necessary for us to make and enjoy most of our meals right there. The exercise area and theater room were unexpected benefits. Plenty of room for our entire party to feel comfortable.
An alternate route to our activities at the YMCA of the Rockies allowed us to avoid the tourist traffic in downtown Estes Park.
Michael (the owner) was very pleasant, easy to work with and accommodating.
We hope to return again next summer and will definitely recommend this to our friends and family.
