Hello My name is Georgina and I own Villa Georgina (thats me above on one of my visits) at the Blue Lagoon, Iceland. When we bought the property it was a shell, with no interior fixtures/fittings and where the swimming pool is, there was just a big field with grass and trees. The property was renovated using Croatian craftsmen for all the work, and the swimming pool was installed using a local craftsman in Tar. We love this property and come twice a year . As its our own holiday home you will see that we have lots of personal stuff that makes it look nice and we hope that you will also appreciate the nice touches that we have in the property. The village we like very much as there is lots of local places to eat and everything is within easy access. The local people are also very nice and we know some of them now.
Georgina purchased this House in 2006
Why Georgina chose Tar
We love this property as it is in the heart of the village, and used to be an old bakehouse. We have tried to retain the character to the property but with a personal touch, and with all modern appliances to make your holiday memorable.
What makes this House unique
Lovely stone walls. A large alcove in the lounge where the oven used to be for making bread. Two access areas, at the back with large barbeque and shade from the sun where you can relax and eat. At the front the swimming pool with lounging area, car parking for two cars and secluded gates which you can lock when not around for safety. Central heating and air conditioning. Satelitte TV
Pool / Spa

A spacious villa, very well appointed with good size, clean pool. Great location in centre of pretty village with decent restaurants and shopping. 10 mins or less in car to either Porec or Novigrad for lots of choices.
The villa has front and back patios with in built BBQ for al fresco dining and all day sunshine. Parking for 2 cars but more 20 yds away if required. The owner has equipped the kitchen well and added lovely design features throughout.
The villa is within 45 mins of Pula, Rovijn and lots of other large towns, easy for a day trip.
Thank you so much for a very nice detailed review,, much appreciated.
We stayed for 2 weeks in July 2017 (2 adults and 2 children) and overall it was a perfect location for exploring the beautiful istrian peninsula. We visited Pula, Porec, Rovinj, Motovan, Groznjan, Buje, Vrsar Osara, Baredine caves, Funsana and Istralandia water Park for the kids. All were very good, our favourites were Motovan & Groznjan (hilltop towns), Rovinj & Osar Vasar (on the coast). The property is fantastic, it has all mod cons, but has been really beautifully restored to keep all of the original features. perfect quiet location away from all the mass tourists right on the coast, Tar has everything you need for a quiet relaxing holiday, bakery, ice cream shop, supermarket, olive oil and wine shops and a few really good restaurants (I'd thoroughly recommend Restuarant Torre), less than 5 min walk from front door. It was good to have two outdoor areas, an area to have a relaxing breakfast or dinner outside, completely private as well as the pool area which was well used by the kids every day. Georgina provided exceptional customer service, always responding to my queries (I had quite a few- thank you Georgina) VERY quickly, even when we were in Croatia, so overall exceptional customer service. I would definitely recommend this to a friend or relative...if I am not lucky enough to be able to come again.
Thank you so much for a lovely well detailed review.
I am glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay at my house and surrounding areas.
Hope you have the change to visit again.
Our stay in Tar at Villa Georgina was the most enjoyable family holiday we have ever experienced. The villa was beautifully clean with great facilities including air conditioning and a lovely pool and BBQ area. The village has everything you need to have a beautifully relaxing holiday, lovely people, great choice of bars and restaurants offering great food and drink at great prices. We will be booking for next year very soon. Croatia is a beautiful country with a lovely coastline and equally lovely people.
Thank you Simon for a great review, and I am glad your family all enjoyed staing at my house.
I would certainly welcome you all back next year.
Our bookings usually start around just after Xmas when people start booking for their holidays.
Nice stone house with pool in the center of Tar.
We (2 Adults, 2 Kids) had a lovely relaxing stay at this (apparently) old stone house in the center of Tar next to the Church. The house has stone walls inside and a tasteful interior, the kitchen had everything we needed.
A nice and often used stone barbecue can be found in the front next to an outside table. The backdoor of the house leads to the Pool. Behind it, there is a place for your car.
When we first saw the pictures we thought one might feel being watched at the pool area. That wasn't the case, however due to the fence around it and the arrangement of the houses.
Getting and returning the key from the agency was pleasingly uneventful and the provided service during our stay was great (new sheets and cleaning in the middle of our 2 week stay and the cleaning at the end).
Goran (the person who keeps contact to the guests during the stay) was nice and helpful and even sent us some forgotten property without asking for postal charges.
Don't forget to visit "Maluda" in Vabriga for some fresh seafood!
We will gladly visit again if we get the chance!
Thank you so much for your very detailed review. I am glad you and your family enjoyed your stay at my property.
I look forward to you visiting some time in the future.
Goran says you are mates.
Had a magnificent time staying in this gorgeous cottage in mid May - the photos do not do this place justice! This property is immaculate and tastefully decorated, with a fantastic pool. Close to shops and restaurants and a short drive to Porec. I loved my stay and would not hesitate to return.
For the review, much appreciated.
