Luxury Penthouse Apartment, splendid views over farmland, regular visits from the shepherd with his sheep, goats and dogs. Faces south to make the most of the Spanish sunshine. This area boasts 315 sunny days a year. 3 twin bedrooms so suitable for families, friends and golfers. English TV. DVD Player, free WI-FI. Fully equipped kitchen, lounge with direct access to balcony for easy outdoor dining. Beautiful sunsets. Further private large roof solarium with brick built bbq for more outdoor dining or soaking up the sun, relaxing and enjoying the view. Full air conditioning. There is a communal pool area with a smaller pool for children. The sandy beach great for children only 10 minutes walk away, swallow and warmer than the Med, with beach bars, one with internet access, Italian restaurant, marina and tennis club. Sailing, kayaking, pedalos in peak season. Two supermarkets, nearest ten minute walk. The La Manga Strip is ten minutes drive with bars and restaurants and excellent for water sports. The La Manga club is a ten minute drive with 3 championship golf courses, bowls and tennis, also a spa. It also has restaurants and nightclub.The whole area is a haven for sport, especially water sports, golf and tennis. Excellent historic interest, especially Cartagena, 20 minutes drive away. The airport of Murcia is 20 kilometres away. Alicante is about an hour and a quarter and has many more flights from most European countries

Local Activities: Tennis, tennis club one road back from beach at Mar de Cristal. Many Golf Courses in area. Wide range of water sports, including, sailing, water skiing, wind-surfing and deep sea diving (Cartagena is particularly good) paragliding, fishing, horse riding, go karting, bowls, short mat bowls, walking. Good cycle tracks. Most of the mentioned sports, excellent instruction available.

Places to visit

Calblanque nature reserve, beautiful beaches. Great for walkers and cyclists.

Los Belones for excellent restaurants

Cabo de Palos charming fishing harbour with superb fish restaurants and a good Sunday market.

Cartagena with port, good shopping, departmental store any hypermarket. This is were Hannibal arrived with his Elephants so very interesting buildings and history, Reenactment every September. Excellent guided walking tours.

Various villages many at the coast for local markets.

We are a couple that love to holiday both in our apartment and in our motorhome. We both play golf and bowls. We enjoy the theatre. I enjoy art and line-dancing. I am a keen gardener. We have four lovely grandchildren.

Why Valerie chose Cartagena

We purchased this property because it is close to the sea, yet had wonderful views over open farmland. It is still a very Spanish. area and not england with sunshine.It is an excellent area for all sports and my husband is a keen golfer and La Manga Club with his golf courses, varied sports, night club, restaurants is only a 10 minute drive away. There is wonderful scenery on the nature reserve and Cartagena is a lovely city 20 minutes away. We felt it had a lot to offer for our family for great holidays and would make a great rental property for our clients.

My husband and I have stayed at this apartment on 3 different seasons, spring, summer and most recently late autumn 2009. It is very well equipped and comfortably furnished, including English TV, and the view from the balcony and roof terrace is fantastic. The surroundings are very peaceful and ideal for watching sunsets, but there are shops and some bars and tennis facilities in walking distance when you want them. The pool is well kept and large enough for a decent swim, and there is plenty of room around it for sitting in the sun. Alternatively, the beach at the Mar Menor is in easy walking distance, with beautiful views across towards La Manga.

There are many places in the area to explore with excellent shops, golf courses, restaurants and beaches. A car would be needed to make the most of these facilities.

The owners are well informed, and their agents keep the apartment in spotless condition, and are also very helpful

Very Relaxing Holiday

Chose this apartment based on location and good reviews and I must say we were not disappointed.

Apartment spacious and adequate room for the 4 of us with a large rooftop terrace ideal for crashing out and reading or listening to music as well as the smaller terrace which was great for breakfast or lunch.

Apartment very clean and all amenities provide although the TV could do with being a bit bigger as it was hard to watch the football which was on for 2 nights whilst we were there that was a minor point.

As it was getting to the end of the season Mar De Cristal was very quite and there was only one restaurant open which was the Italian one which was very good but in the town of Los Belones which is literally 5 minutes drive away there are restaurants to suite everyone from Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, English and of course Spanish and every one offered excellent food and service at reasonable prices.

Beach at Mar De Crisal lovely with a great beach bar at the end which did great snacks at lunch time and we had a couple of late evenings there just sitting and looking out at the sea with a beer in our hand.

Due to one of our party getting injured a few days before travelling we were unable to get any golf in but on driving around found it is an ideal location for golf with many top courses within 30 minutes drive away.

Overall an excellent holiday with both location and accommodation great and we will certainly consider returning again in the future.

Perfect Location

We have stayed on 2 occasions at Ribeira Beach and were keen to return. As there were more of us we found this superb apartment with a roof terrace. The apartment was excellent. It was clean and tidy and was perfectly equipped for self catering. The roof terrace was private and offered lovely views. Overall I would say this apartment is ideal for holidays where you want everything accessable. Its only a half hour drive from Murcia airport and there is easy access to beaches and supermarkets. Its also a great location for sports enthusiasts.

Riberia Beach apartment

Returned from holiday about a week ago , still cannot over the fantastic views we had from both the balcony and the `private` roof terrace. The apartment was clean and very well stocked with all essential utensils ,crockery and glassware you would need !Excellant apartment clean , modern sat tv cooker hob dishwasher , has everything it says on the ad , my only dislike was , because there were only two of us in the apartment , which had three double bedrooms , ther was only two sets of towels available , not a big problem really , we washed them every couple of days in the machine and dried in under two hours in the blistering heat on the roof terrace .If you are lookig for a quiet getaway just to chill and do absolutely nothing this it . The most exciting we saw every day was the local goat herd passing , thats how quiet it is , except the occasional fly past by the Spanish Red Arrows display team , they fly over quite low , so if you are sunbathing on the terrace beware what you are wearing !Overall a splendid apartment to have a realxing holiday < my wife have stayed in Mar De Cristal several times and in this apartment twice , and I must say this is my favourite and has the most stunning views. Whenever some asks me about my holiday I recommend this , hope thsi review helps you in making your decison,go for it its Perfect !

First class holiday spot!

Visited this apartment 3 times and can't fault it. Equipped to a high standard, it's roomy and (most important!) the beds are comfortable. If you really want a suntan there is a secluded sun terrace with good views. Very handy for Murcia airport which is only 13 miles along the coast.

Mar De Cristal is a small town that has not been overdeveloped like some Spanish resorts but it has everything you could require within 5 mins of the apartment. Good walking area if you follow the road to the left – and you can finish up, as we did last time, at one of the bars overlooking the lagoon, having a drink in the sunshine.

But what we most enjoy about the apartment is waking up on a spring morning and having a leisurely breakfast on the balcony while taking in the stunning views over the fields to the hills of Calblanque nature reserve. (Birdwatchers should note there is a colony of Audoin's gulls down at the Salinas on the shore at Calblanque.) We also enjoy a ride down the La Manga strip to the tip where the Mediterranean meets the Mar Menor – good shoes needed as it can be muddy! The Roman amphitheatre at Cartagena, which is currently being restored, is well worth a visit. To gain access you need to go to the museum near the marina - although you can climb some steep steps and peek over the wall. Boat trips are available from the marina in Cartagena.

So, to finish, if you want a good holiday place and an excellent apartment, this is it!

Peace and sunshine all year round

My husband and I stayed here last year and again earlier this year. It has everything you could want for a holiday, and we would recommend it to anyone. Sitting out at night watching the twinkling lights of the nearby villages is so relaxing. Swimming in the pool or nearby sea is perfect. If you want nightlife and activities they are there too, so you can choose. We will certainly be returning.

Mar de Cristal is on the Mar Menor, largest natural pool in the world, a paradise for all types of water sports. The Mar Menor is about 5 degrees warmer than the Mediterranean. The area itself boasts 315 days of sunshine. The beach is sandy and safe for children. The wonderful beaches of the regional park of Calblanque 10mins drive away. Los Belones 5 min with many varied excellent restaurants, including Italian, Indian. Cabo de Palos 15 min a charming, fishing harbour with superb fish restaurants and a good Sunday market. Cartagena 30 min port, boat trips, good shopping, departmental store. On the outskirts Cartagena 20 min, large hypermarket in shopping area. The Capital of the area Murcia is about one hour. La Manga Strip with restaurants, bars and nightlife 15 min. Torrevieja water park 1 hour. Golfers can play a different course everyday including the famous La Manga Club Courses. All water sports available including, sailing, windsurfing, diving all with good instruction.
