About Amanda Clements
We were lucky enough to come to Cheddar in 2000 and made it our home. We love being at the foot of the Mendips for walking, mountain biking and general outdoors activities but also close enough to Bristol and Bath for city life too. Blackberry Lodge sits on our 2 acre site where we also have a 4 BED, 2 Bathroom property and a 'sister' lodge to Blackberry known as Strawberry Lodge, all 3 are available to holidaymakers.
Amanda Clements purchased this Cabin in 2011
Why Amanda Clements chose Cheddar
We'd like to think it's now a fantastic romantic base from which to explore and is both peaceful yet really close to whatever form of 'action' you enjoy!

Hi.. thanks so much - we'd be delighted to see you again! Best wishes..
Excellent in all respects
We had the most fantastic stay from the outset. Amanda was extremely efficient in replying to emails and was at the property to welcome us. The property is very comfortable and peaceful. There is so much to do in the local area for the outdoor enthusiast and lots of good food. We had a five star stay. Thank you.
Fabulous Short Break
Had a wonderful weekend exploring the area. Wells is definitely worth a visit on market day and Cheddar Gorge Village. The lodge is well equipped, comfortable and we wanted for nothing. Will definitely be returning.
Lovely well equipped cabin. Everything we needed and 20 - 30 minute walk to village with cafes, restaurants and pubs. Nice walk via the reservoir to historic Axebridge. Central location for visiting various locations in Somerset. The weather wasn't very kind to us so we were not able to use the outside space which was a shame.
First rate accommodation
We loved everything about our stay in Cheddar, including the excellent accommodation. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the setting quiet and relaxing, and the amenities, including a full cooker, excellent. We loved the addition of milk and fruit in the fridge. I would thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay and explore the area.
This property has everything. Located close to Cheddar Village it was the perfect base for our first visit to this part of England. Just a short 10 minute walk away from Cheddar, we didn’t miss having a car. The pretty medieval village of Axbridge is also a short walk away.
The lodge is beautifully decorated and has everything you require. We spent wonderful afternoons and evenings relaxing on the terrace with it’s splendid view of the gorge. We cannot praise this lodge highly enough. We simply didn’t want to leave. How we envy anyone who is coming to stay here in the future. You will not be disappointed.
Enjoy a glass of wine whilst relaxing in front of the woodburner, or venture out and explore Somerset, Bristol and Bath.
Offering delightful holiday accommodation for a couple, Blackberry Lodge enjoys commanding views over Cheddar Gorge in the distance. It benefits from a peaceful semi-rural setting yet is within walking distance of all that Cheddar has to offer.
Cheddar village (less than a mile away) offers plenty of interesting shops and cafes as well as other attractions. Cheddar Gorge, Britain’s largest limestone ravine gouged through the Mendips, is a magnet for climbers, walkers and visitors to the floodlit caves and Cheddar Reservoir is a great place to take a picnic, look out for wildlife and join in activities such as sailing and angling. Axbridge is a charming market town with a medieval square and half-timbered buildings, whilst Wookey Hole attracts many visitors to the showcaves. Wells is England’s smallest city set around a cathedral; Wedmore is a lively town with many individual shops and eateries, Glastonbury is famous for its music festival, spiritual culture and King Arthur legends, and the coastal resorts and magnificent beaches at Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Berrow and Brean are all within a short drive, as are the cities of Bath and Bristol. Shops, pubs and restaurant less than 1 mile.
