Guestbook comments from the owner

Your cottage was wonderful - homely without being cluttered. It's obvious you've stayed there and worked out what guests actually need. It's simple but so many owners overlook things like useful hooks on doors, somewhere to put your stuff in the bathroom, just a little of each cleaning product, handsoap - what a nightmare to have to buy all this when you're only here for the weekend. Comfy beds, DVD players that atually work. Honestly, I was so impressed. In my view you've got everything right - I will definitely be back. And of course the extra touches - milk in the fridge, a bottle of wine and some delicious marmalade - doesn't cost much but makes a huge impression. Well done!!! My friend and I were here for total relaxation and we already know the area pretty well so a stroll around the village and food in the local pubs was all we were after. Perfect for this.

Beautiful cottage, cosy and well-equipped.

  • 5 of 5

We all loved our stay in Wildflower Cottage, and were lucky enough to have great weather for enjoying the sun terrace with our morning coffee. Everything has been very thoughtfully kitted out, we didn't want for any home comforts. The children loved it, the dog enjoyed lounging in front of the gas fire in the evening and we had a relaxed and enjoyable holiday. I would heartily recommend this holiday property, ideally located for dog walks and days out, Great Longstone is a lovely village.

Idyllic Village & Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect place to base yourself to explore the area or to "bunker away" for a break. Clare & Richard have thought of every comfort and the cottage is well equipped - especially in the kitchen. We used both local pubs for evening meals and thought they were super...and so close by! Villagers we met were welcoming and the little neighbouring shop stocks essentials.

We would thoroughly recommend this wonderful property.

What a lovely property very cosy, we loved the little garden for early morning coffe and evening glasses of wine. We looved the surrounding area especially Bakewell and even spent the day on the Monsal trail.

A beautifully presented cosy cottage in an ideal location for exploring the Peak District

  • 4 of 5

The property was really well finished and we felt very comfortable. It has been really well laid out to maximise the use of a limited space. The village of Great Longstone is perfectly located for good walking and cycles and has great pubs for food and a lovely park for the boys to chase a football around when they had that little bit of extra energy left to burn! The owners were really helpful in allowing us access to storage for our four bikes. Thank you- we had a great week!
