About Tricia Adams
We are Dean and Tricia Adams, both Northern Michigan natives. Dean is owner of Bay Area Contracting, a highly regarded custom home builder/ general contractor in the Traverse City area. Tricia is a Neonatal ICU nurse. We both love to travel, which means we know what people want in a vacation property. Also, we live on the lake, which means we built these homes with all the ammenities and conveniences desired by anyone living or vacationing on a lake.
Tricia Adams purchased this House in 2014
Why Tricia Adams chose Traverse City
Arbutus Lake is a special place, we know this because we live here. It's an all sports lake with a public boat launch. Arbutus is great for high speed boating, yet it still offers the quiet serenity of a small lake. Even the busiest days on Arbutus don't compare to the craziness of a regular summer day on the more populated inland lakes of the Traverse City area.
What makes this House unique
This property (containing two lots) was appealing for us to invest in because of our ability to build two homes side by side and because of they offer direct lake access. Many lots on Arbutus Lake are up high and require stairs and long winding pathways to reach the lake. Lakemore Retreat is at lake level and the walk to the sandy beach is as easy as it gets.

Property was impeccable....owners were great...responded to any questions in a prompt manner....beautiful property!
Great place to stay with the family. Plenty of room for everyone, lots to do during cold wintery days - kids playing pool in the game room, adults playing cards in the dining room, fireplace for a little ambiance. The place was very comfortable with the multi zone heating system and heated floors. Quiet location, close enough to town, easy drive to Crystal for skiing. Two dings I heard from our group- no closets in the bedrooms and for a big group we were constantly running out of dishes. Overall great stay and still give it 5 stars.
Fall friends get-away
We had 6 adults and 5 children stay at this property for a fall trip away from Chicago. The layout was perfect for 3 families. Each family had their own space and the basement with pool table was perfect for the kids to play, especially since it was carpet. The house was also the most kid-friend VRBO I have ever stayed in, they had baby gates, toys, high-chairs, pack-n-plays, it was really perfect for us. It snowed and the property was just lovely, the back yard had a perfect sledding hill for the little ones! Tricia was so kind and commutative, you could tell that she really cared that we enjoyed our stay. No complaints here! Would love the opportunity to stay again!
Everything about Lakemore Lodge was perfect for us. Suited 6 people. Lots of open space and room to play inside and outside. Accommodations were well appointed and Tricia was a wonderful host. We come to Traverse City every year for the Iceman Cometh mountain bike race and for the last 3 have rented homes vs hotel rooms. Gives our group room to lounge together and have the comforts of home. Lakemore Lodge really excelled and we would definitely consider coming back. Thank you!
Five Stars All The Way!
Beautiful house! Beautiful seasonal colors! Enjoyed our stay very much!
This beautiful home nestled on a small lake near Traverse City, Michigan is a great find. It is modern, well laid out, and beautifully styled. The setting on the lake is also stunning.
Lakemore Retreat's Lodge is one of two available lakefront properties (Lakemore Cottage is next door). Both properties can be rented individually or together, doubling your occupancy to 24. Both homes are new construction and were built directly on the shores of Arbutus Lake, with easy access to the water (no steps or cliffs) and optimal views of the lake. Come enjoy the many benefits of this all sports inland lake where the 395 acres are swimmable from May until October, the fishing is plentiful and the conditions are perfect for many water sports including kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, water skiing and tubing, all while being minutes away from Traverse City’s restaurants, shops, wineries, golf and more. Lakemore Retreat is directly adjacent to The Brown Bridge Quiet Area which offers miles of hiking trails, and to Boardman Valley Trail system, 81 miles of snowmobile trails. Boardman River is also within 3 miles of Lakemore Retreat, a great place to do river tubing, kayaking, canoeing and fishing.
This setting is perfect for relaxing Lakefront Vacationing away from the hussle of town, but be sure to leave time for a short 15 minute drive to the city. Traverse City is well known for its lakefront as well, with countless shops and restaurants. The greater Traverse City Area is nationally recognized for Old Mission Peninsula and the Leelanau Peninsula's many wineries, as well as the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
