There are many animals who make the estuary their home. Many bird species such as yellow-naped parrots , rufous-capped warble, white-throated magpie jay, brown pelican, magnificent frigatebird, great egret, black vulture, northern harrier hawk, great kiskadee, a few different kinds of bats and hummingbirds and many other bird species.
This is a bird lovers paradise!
Other animals you may encounter or view swinging by Punta Paraiso are howler monkeys, coati, armadillo, agouti, variegated squirrels, geckos, paca, mapaches, toads, crabs, lizards, leatherback/Oliver Ridley turtles, iguanas, and whales (of course some of the creepy crawlies show up too, such as toads, spiders, snakes, scorpions, and other bugs, but where would our ecosystem be without them too!). Our beach (just out front of the house) is a protected beach and home to turtle nesting and turtle conservation. All can be seen on or near the property, however they are not guaranteed. :)
If you truly want to experience what Costa Rica has to offer and love nature preserves, animals, deserted beaches and lots of flora, than THIS IS the place for you to be! With a little bit of luck you can view endangered turtles coming to nest on the beach out front or contact Verdiazul (Playa Junquillal), to schedule a time to watch the babies get released in front of, or near the house!
Come, stay, relax and watch the world of nature surround you at Punta Paraiso!!
Hear the sounds abound of the sea and wildlife, all while sipping drinks under the covered table IN the pool. Recline on the pool deck while watching the many native bird species, butterflies, dragonflies and nightly fireflies traveling to and from the nearby estuary.
Walk a few steps out the front door and you will find the landscaped path to the awaiting Pacific Ocean. Jump on your surfboard and take a ride, or stick your toes in the black sand beach while listening to the waves crash upon the shore...... just 55ft from your front door!!

The large master bedroom with vaulted ceilings is up the spiral staircase and is bright and airy with an ensuite 3 piece bath. You can wash away the cares of the day all while observing the estuary from the master bath window, or you may opt for the breathtaking ocean and estuary views from the second story veranda just off the master bedroom. The main floor second bedroom is spacious with plenty of closet space and two large windows for viewing the ocean. Open the windows at night in both rooms and listen to the sounds of the waves crash as you fall into sleep. The main floor bath features a river rock shower with a rain water shower head.
Have dinner by the pool on the large picnic table or just sit and relax on the screened in porch on the first floor. While all the comforts of home are found inside the Punta Paraiso home , the joy and experiences to be had are found outside the home at this serene location and amazing property.
The pacific waters here are warm all year round and offer plenty of entertainment or just a tranquil setting.
