Traditional three bedroom Longere in rural setting
Why Sue chose Pré-En-Pail-Saint-Samson
We purchased this property about fifteen years ago, we always look forward to going to there, somehow a soon as we step out of the car life just seems more relaxed, everywhere is so busy these days, it's lovely to be able to hear the birds sing, to be able to see the stars at night, and allow the children let off steam in the field!! There is plenty to do in the area Bagnoles de L'orne is close by, with a boating lake, walks, the yummiest ice cream, and restaurants that serve the best French food. Le Mans is about half an hour away, even if you are not a racing fan it is fascinating to go and watch the cars or motorbikes go round the track, the track is open all year round, also the town of Le Mans is a beautiful town with lots to do and see, the roman wall is can still be seen in the old town.

Lovely, simple property. Really helpful owners
We were visiting friends nearby for their wedding. A lovely property, out in the countryside. 2 neighbours and a few derelict old barns waiting for conversion next door.
Property was clean and comfortable, with the most well equipped kitchen you can imagine.
Owner Sue, and Veronica who manages thins in France are really lovely, and we’re incredibly thoughtful and helpful when we lost our car key and had to wait for a new one to be sent over by courier.
The only downside for us was the absence of any blinds on the velux windows in the bedrooms - we generally woke with sunrise, and it got very hot in the bedrooms due to absence of shade. But this was a minor thing really, and we would definitely stay again.
Thanks for all you help and flexibility , it was really appreciated at a potentially stressful time.
Rural house in a quiet location. Great transport links. Brilliant cycling area.
Lots of space inside and out. Perfect for children as nothing left out for them to break. A no frills property. Kitchen equipped with EVERYTHING you would ever want. Beds comfortable. Really cool in summer.
No WiFi and patchy mobile coverage (rarely had signal in house). This was great for us as had a technology free 2 weeks!
lovely quiet rural longere with lots of facilities close to small town with supermarket
It was lovely staying in this house in France, many thanks to Sue the owner for the excellent communication regarding the stay and to Veronica who let us in and was patient with our questions and so helpful about all things regarding the property and suggestions if we wanted to go and explore.
We had a great chill out for a couple of days just sitting in the sunshine with a glass or two of fizzy following a busy two or three weeks traveling through Spain and France. It was very quiet and secluded which was exactly what we both needed. Lots of free parking on the grassed area immediately outside the property.
Range of shops and a Supermarket available in nearby Pre on Pail. Within striking distance to Le Mans, which is one of our aims for our next visit to the area.
Good bathroom and shower with lots of hot water. Big kitchen with all the appliances etc and a washing machine.
Three good sized bedrooms, plenty of lounge space and a TV with a free satellite arrangement so you can watch some uk TV channels if you want
Property within a couple of hours of the cross channel ferries so relatively easy to get back for your sailing.
Lovely 3 bedroom property, very quaint and very quiet
The property was a very good size, we enjoyed the log fire in the evening's and the peace and quiet surroundings. The main bedroom was enormous, ideal for families or couples with a lot of luggage. Everything you could think of was there, I mainly enjoyed having a dishwasher there, more time to relax. The property is surrounded by fields and again very spacious. The nearest town of Pre En Pail is only a few minutes car journey.
We would recommend this property to anyone that wants peace and quiet.
The property is ideally situated in a National Park, nearby is Bagnole de Lorne with excellent walking , cycling, swimming, boating forest walks along with some very good restaurants.
Cycling is still a brilliant way to get around, there are now over 100km traffic free cycling along old railway lines and towpaths - including a magnificent run along the Mayenne river,
There are many interesting Chateaux,to visit, Mayenne boasts more privately owned Chateaux than any where else in France, do not miss the spectacular ruins of Ste Suzanne - also officially one France's prettiest villages. If you are lucky enough to catch one of their jousting tournaments it will be the highlight of your holiday..
The town of Mayenne is lovely, with boats trips on the river which runs right through the town
Alencon is famous for its lace making and there is a fascinating lace making museum to visit. Alencon is a very typical French market town, with a superb market every week, an opportunity to stock up on all the wonderful local produce, the creme fraiche that is made on the local farm is an absolute dream!
France is just a wonderful place to have a holiday, the roads are quiet, there is a lack of hustle and bustle that is so much part of our every day lives.
