Description

Cheillé House Rental Photos and Description

Don't go by its country appearances! Behind its stone walls and bucolic rosebushes, this pretty Tours house offers all the comfort of a main residence; a very complete equipment ensures you to benefit during your holidays from the same facilities than at your house (household appliance, WiFi, HD TV). The charm of this old house will however provide you with a pleasant change of scenery. A wide bay opens the living room on the outside and allows fully enjoying the garden: the south-facing terrace, sheltered by a large bower, is the privileged place for summer meals.

Young children and pets will be safe there: fenced garden, stairs protected by a wrought-iron fence, forbidding the access.

Quiet guaranteed: the house is located in a hamlet of houses and ancient farms that all have a good distance between each other. Peaceful location.

A huge asset: its very central position in the heart of the Loire Valley Castles area and the Parc régional Anjou-Touraine

Suitability:
  • children welcome
  • non smoking only
  • pets considered

Everything we imagined it would be!

  • 5 of 5

Charming, spacious, superbly equipped and decorated ... we were looking for a traditional home and quiet space and this fit the bill perfectly! Having utilized VRBO on several occasions, I can tell you that most places we have used have been "functional" but Ann's cottage was outfitted like a home with beautiful accents and every amenity. The only drawback would be the lack of a true shower, as we are all tall people and climbing in and out of the bathtub was a bit challenging - but for families, the large bath would work well. We just really couldn't have made a better choice for our vacation in the Loire Valley!

A Lovely Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time at the Winemaker House, Anne is so sweet and hospitable. We didn't see a lot of her, but she was always responsive and ready to help. She greeted us with a cute sign on the gate and some wine in the house. Our kids loved running around the yard. The house is comfortable, decorated very nicely, and very clean. The kitchen has everything you might need. We loved the location of the house especially, it is very central to so many wonderful places to visit. We would definitely return the next time we want to visit the Loire Valley!

Lovely week in historic cottage

  • 5 of 5

we had a lovely week in this beautifully decorated cottage. Our host was extremely gracious and we were very happy with our visit. The Chateau in Azay le Rideau is gorgeous and we particularly enjoyed eating lunch out and then cooking in the evening. The kitchen, bath and laundry facilities are very modern!

Summer in France from Canada

  • 4 of 5

Had a great time at the cottage with family (4 of us - 7 and 10 year old) in the French countryside. Very central location to explore the Loire Valley. Really enjoyed viewing each chateau from near by Azay le Rideau to Usse to Chenonceau. The Chinon wine is sneaky good - wishing we brought back more. Anne was very friendly, and the pictures shown here are true to the cottage experience.

I would stay here again, as this was one of the highlights from our summer trip.

A beautiful holiday rental

  • 5 of 5

This was an absolutely delightful house to stay in.

The booking process from Australia was seamless and the owner Anne could not have been more helpful, both before our arrival, and during our stay.

I cannot tell how charming the cottage is. Anne has taken great care to decorate it in very French manner, with everything matching and co- ordinated. The result was a lovely home to come home to each evening. Many towels and white bathrobes were also supplied.

It was great to have a sunny garden to sit in, that was private, quiet and peaceful. A pleasant contrast from the hustle and bustle of Paris, where we had been previously.

As described, the house is in a small hamlet and not in a village, so it is not walking distance to anything. However it was only a few minutes in the car to Azay-le-Rideau, so this was not an issue for us.

The house was centrally located and in a good position to explore the surrounding area. We explored from Chinon to Amboise, all easy travelling distances from Azay.

Thank you Anne for sharing your lovely cottage with us and for making us so welcome.

Notes:
This authentic Tours house offers a travel back in time (thick exposed stone walls, terracotta floors and wooden floors, beams, white tufa fireplace) while being equipped with the modern needs of today: Complete and recent household appliance; dishwasher, kitchenware, bed linen in perfect state; HD TV, mini stereo system, WiFi, central heating, books, CD, magazines and documentation about the region available; outside, garden furniture and barbecue. Its huge asset: tranquillity! The large front shows the rest of the house (on the extreme right on the main photo), 2 annex buildings (barn in the middle and 18th century dwelling on the left, still being restored) that are used as storage rooms and are not occupied. Therefore, the garden keeps its privacy. The whole opens on a little country road, used by some hamlet residents.
