About Fiona Brown
My husband (Adrian) and I have been visiting Corfu for 42years, and 12 years ago we started looking for our dream location on the island to build our family villa. After travelling to some 40 Greek islands and all round Corfu we decided the location had to be on the North West coast as it is here that captures the traditional charms of Corfu and benefits from unrivalled sunrise to sunset views. We have found that not many villas actually have sunset views unless you are in the North West. Together with my sons we started building Villa Panayia in 2007 and it was completed in 2014, having survived a change of builder, the financial crisis, one of our son's emigrating to Australia, the arrival of 4 grandchildren, and Adrian's retirement. The original idea for the villa was to have somewhere the whole family can come together and share holiday time, we are pleased to say this original idea has now been achieved.
Fiona Brown purchased this Villa in 2008
Why Fiona Brown chose Arillas Agiou Georgiou
After 40 Greek islands and 42 years - THE VIEWS! They 'speak for themselves'.
What makes this Villa unique
Unique? The location. We bought a piece of paradise and feel privileged to 'own' this location and view especially when sitting in the infinity pool and seeing the setting sun dip into the sea behind distant islands toward Italy.

A wonderfull place to stay!
Great villa in a fantastic location. The villa is very spacious and well furnished / equipped. Amazing views from the villa, particularly the sunsets which we usually enjoyed from the pool! Plenty of great beaches and places to eat / drink nearby - the Night Owl was a particular favourite. Finally, Fiona is a great host. Recommended.
Thank you for your review. We are delighted you had a wonderful time in our villa and enjoyed the views as much as we do!
Great property in one of the nicest areas of Corfu.
The villa is located on a hill which gives incredible views into the Agios Georgios bay and the coastline up to Arillas. If you love a sunset, then this villa and area of Corfu could quite possibly provide some of the most amazing sunset views any where in the world.
The villa is very spacious with amazing panoramic views from the various balconies and large living room area. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) so the 3 ground floor double bedrooms were perfect for us. My wife’s sister was also holidaying with us so the separate top floor double bedroom was ideal as this gave her some space of her own.
The villa is in a good location with a number of great restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute drive. There are plenty to choose from if you jump in the car and pop into either Arillas or Agios Georgios, our favourites being Ammos Beach Bar or Thalassa Restaurant in Arillas or Katoi Restaurant in Agios Georgios. However, if you want something a little bit special which is ideally situated to really make the most of these very special Corfu sunsets it’s well worth visiting the places below.
One of our favourites was the Panorama restaurant which is about a 5 minute drive on the road up to Afionas.
There is also Porto Timoni restaurant which is about 5 mins further past the Panorama restaurant right on the tip of the Porto Timoni peninsula. There is a car park at the restaurant but the road leading to this is very narrow.
Another great bar / restaurant well worth a visit to get the most of the evening sunsets is Molino Seaside Cocktail Bar which is at the far southern end of Agios Georgios beach down a tiny bumpy dirt track right along the edge of the shore line.
Another very popular and worthwhile visit is 7th Heaven Restaurant at Logas Sunset Beach. This is about a 25 minute drive but well worth the drive - make sure you book a day in advance though.
As well as stuffing your face with food the villa is also ideally located to be in a nice quiet rural position, but still within easy driving distance for all the local amenities such as supermarkets, ATM’s and bars etc all easily accessible in Arillas or Agios Georgios. We hired a small speed boat for the afternoon from San Stefano on Arillas beach. This was good value and great way to explore the local coastline.
All in all we had a fantastic week in this lovely villa, and were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the island of Corfu is, especially the North West area.
Thank you for such an expansive wonderful review. You certainly took your time over and we much appreciate your effort. We have even learnt some things from it!
I have 2490 characters to explain our overall experience of our stay in Villa Panayia and frankly it's not enough. Until you have stayed there words can never do it justice. Thank you so much for the opportunity Fiona.
Thank you very much for your flattering comments. We are most appreciative of what you said and taking the time to do so.
Fantastic villa with the most amazing views!
We are a family of 4 with two children aged 9 and 7 and stayed in Villa Panayia in August 2018. Fiona provided us with useful essential info before we left and there was a book of suggestions and local info at the villa which became our bible!
We had a wonderful two weeks. The villa is very spacious with loads of storage space in each of the bedrooms. The kitchen is very well equipped for those who want to cook. There’s an outdoor BBQ area which we used a few times.
But the best thing about this villa is the location and views - simply stunning I never tired of looking at them and oh the sunsets!!
It felt a bit decadent having such a large house to oursevies. It would easily fit 2 families / family with grandparents or a few couples. There were so many balconies terraces and seating areas we barely managed to use them all in our 2 weeks!
We’d never been to Corfu before but the surrounding area is beautiful. Three lovely beaches all within a very short drive (and easy to park even in August). There are some lovely local restaurants within walking distance in Afionas and a short drive into Arillas. The restaurants also have stunning views and weren’t too crowded. Local people were so friendly and welcoming.
All in all a fantastic holiday and we would love to go back.
Many thanks for your wonderful review. You make all our trials and tribulations whilst building the villa worthwhile! The villa was built with our large family in mind. In fact, we have had 4 generations staying in the villa and they all had their own space and comfort. We never tire of going back to the villa as, like you say, the locals are all very welcoming, we are made to feel like family every time we return. We are looking forward to going back next week and visiting all our friends again and watching the sunset every night.
What a villa!
The villa is absolutely stunning in every way. Light and airy living accommodation with generous proportions. The villa is nicely furnished with a balcony and terrace for each day of the week! The children enjoyed the swimming pool which was great for a cool down in July with temperatures around 30c. The views are delightful towards the sea and islands beyond. The sunsets are something special. The villa sits proudly in an elevated position and is a short walk to the night owl Taverna circa 15 minutes stroll. Lovely hosts and epic pork chops. There are several other tavernas nearby including Panorama which are equally good. The local beaches are great including Agios Stefanos and Georgious. We hired a motor boat for half a day and explored the coastline and other beaches unreachable by foot! If you are considering a holiday in Corfu you will not be disappointed by this Villa and the location.
A wonderful villa with exquisite views. We had the best family holiday!
Afionas was by far the most beautiful, tranquil & authentic village in Corfu. We had the best time and would definitely return to villa Panayia. Thank you Fiona!
VIEWS - THE MAIN FEATURE ABOUT THIS VILLA
Set on a ridge overlooking two beaches with far and uninterrupted views of mountains, islands and beaches. Purpose built to take in the views and to track the sun from sunrise to sunset...every room has a view.
Enjoy this magnificent purpose built villa standing in extensive and comfortable outdoor patio/tiled floors over 3 levels for 8+ people - all double en-suite rooms having an uninterrupted view and all awaiting the main event for your pleasure - the promise at the end of the day of what some have described as a most romantic setting - the descending sun on the horizon. A mesmerizing scene that you will find difficult to ignore.
You may have found in the past that when viewing villas on websites you may have noticed that with the use of clever or professional photography the views are often the same one, but from different angles giving a false impression. On your arrival the reality falls short. Disappointing even. At Villa Panayia the reality is better than the photographs. Our Corfiot architect, who has lived on the island all his life, said it has the best views in Corfu so perhaps you would like to come and see what we have on offer - such a treat - you will not be disappointed.
The North West coast here captures the traditional charms of Corfu and benefits from unrivalled sunrise to sunset views. We have found that not many villas actually have sunset views unless you are here. A quote from a review "Views - so many of them!!! There's morning sun outside the kitchen with coffee and pastries, then afternoon on the downstairs back terrace, then afternoon sun in the front by the pool, then late afternoon sun asleep after 2 glasses of wine on the cushy outdoor sofa! Sunsets out front any any balcony and at least a 250 degree panorama over mountains, past two bays, two peninsulas and even over to Albania with snow capped mountains in the far distance."
