About Alistair Herbert
We have been welcoming guests to our West Dorset holiday cottages since 2003. Our family of 5 and 2 dogs regularly use holiday cottages ourselves and we appreciate how important it is that everyone in the family is catered for - including the pets!
Alistair Herbert purchased this Cottage in 2008

Fantastic Dog Friendly Holiday
Great location. Ideal for dogs as a few steps from a paddock leading down to a river. Cottage had everything we needed and we lived in the conservatory watching buzzards soaring above us. We will return.
Wonderful, clean cottage with friendly owners
Buzzards swoop was spotlessly clean and wonderfully welcoming. The welcome tray and fresh flowers were a really lovely touch. Lisa got it perfect, she popped round to say high but left us to it for the rest of the holiday.
I would not hesitate to book with Bingham Farm Barns again as the facilities were excellent and it was very well positioned for exploring the Jurassic Coast. Can’t speak highly enough of this property and the owners and can’t wait to come back soon.
Thank-you for your lovely review and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay.
If we can help in the future then please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best of a wet weekend
Despite of the "best" great British bank holiday wash out, we had a great time in Lisa and Alistair's cottage. It's very well equipped, everything was working and both our children and us absolutely loved it. Even when it was lashing with rain we felt warm and cosy in this lovely home. Lisa was an amazing host: from leaving us her delicious muffins and welcoming us to sending us forgotten kids toothbrushes, just a perfect host really. We loved meeting Alistair too and Woody the chocolate lab who is very loving. Kids had great time stroking him. The welcome pack is very detailed, great recommendations and tons of information. Very useful. Everything that Lisa recommended was great too. Trip to Durdle Dor was interesting, inspite of the weather and we were not the only ones who were not derailed by the rain. Next day Lime Regis was a better expedition, nice beach and lovely food.
Thank you for making our little get away so special. We will aim to come back and explore more.
Thank-you for your lovely review and we hope to welcome you back to Binghams again soon.

Lovely cottage ideally situated to explore Dorset
Cosy cottage which is open plan so was great for us to spend quality time together as a family. Plenty to keep us all busy exploring the surrounding areas, all within a 30 minute drive. Ideally situated out in the countryside but near enough to all amenities for shopping etc. The girls made use of the trampaline and we enjoyed walking the dog around the grounds of Bingham Farm Cottages. The cake on arrival to the cottage was enjoyed by all. Lisa came to introduce herself and to make sure we had settled in and had everything we needed. Would definately like to return and stay in the barn.
We wanted a relaxing, romantic break with my wife - this cottage was ideal to satisfy all our need.
The cottage has a very cozy lounge with log burner (it was a main feature for us), a modern and fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, conservatory, a downstairs WC and an upstairs bathroom.
We used only the master bedroom with the king-size bed. The mattress was comfy and the house was warm all day long.
Plenty of space to park your car. Lidl and Morrison’s only a few mins away, the seaside in West Bay is only 10 minutes by car if you want to have a walk.
Durdle Door was about 45 minutes away and it is a must see natural beauty. During the evening we enjoyed the quiet, calm cottage, the log burner, foot up with a tea and a good book :-).
We enjoyed so much staying here that even asked an extra night - fortunately there was no booking for that night. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
Thank you for the amazing stay, we will come back again.
We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in Buzzards Swoop with your dog - if we can help again then please do not hesitate to contact us.

Buzzards Swoop is located on our relaxed and peaceful 6 acre former small farm 5 minutes by car outside of Bridport and it's harbour and beaches at West Bay.
Bridport is an attractive, friendly and relaxed historic market town with plenty of independent shops, bars and restaurants. On Saturdays and Wednesdays it hosts a great market selling food, vintage, antiques and arts & crafts.
West Bay with it's ever popular harbour, beaches and famous cliffs is 2 miles south of Bridport or 10 minutes easy drive from the cottage. West Bay was the stunning location for the TV series Broadchurch and there are glorious walks both east and west along the hills and cliffs of the Jurassic coastal path.
We are within easy driving access to many other wonderful coastal towns and beaches including Lyme Regis, Weymouth, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. The National Trust beach at Burton Bradstock is a 15 minute drive with the award winning Hive Beach Cafe offering locally produced ice creams, drinks and meals.
Country footpaths direct from the property, with local pubs approx 30 minute walk.
There is an hourly bus service to town from the top of the drive and Bridport has several taxi companies (numbers in the cottage information pack).
Our nearest supermarkets, Lidl and Co-op, are open late and a few minutes by car. Waitrose and Morrisons are also located in Bridport.
