'Casa del Bombero' #30 Chachalas, Las Gaviotas, Baja
Spacious feeling provided by a wider than the standard lot/home for Las Gaviotas. One of the finest 2 bedroom LGav homes and is not the typical cramped beach house. Located 1 row behind the front row swimming pool clubhouse and garden area. There is also a garden area adjacent to this property. Large covered patio with one area for sun. Many new amenities.
Each bedroom has a California-King bed with cable TV/wDVD and bath. The living room has 1 large chair, a leather sofa and matching love seat. We have stayed at Gaviotas over a dozen times and frequently stay in different houses. This house is by far our favorite. The other houses have been nice, but always seem to have one thing that we don't like (bed size, location, etc.) This house has it all. Location is outstanding. Beds are king size and very comfortable. Bathrooms are very nice. House is spacious and relaxing. All the amenities you could possibly need.
This is now our favorite go to house (although perhaps I shouldn't have said that or everyone is going to want to stay here and it will be harder to reserve) :0)
I was a little worried about going to Mexico. Heard stories about crime, drug cartels, corrupt police... Once I set foot into Las Gaviotas my worries washed away in the beautiful surf. Trips into the city also put my mind at ease. Felt perfectly safe and loved that we were in another country after only driving about 45 minutes out of San Diego. Casa del Bombero was AWESOME! We were there for a family reunion and all who stopped by to check the place out were impressed with how big and spacious it was. The deck is super large and views are perfect. It's situated very near clubhouse, shuffleboard, pool, and jacuzzi. You can sit out on the spacious deck and hear the waves crashing. Furniture is large and comfortable. Flat screens in living room and both bedrooms. Master bathroom is giant. The onsite manager was SO helpful and checked in with us a couple times to make sure everything was going well. There is a phone in the unit that gives you free access to calls to US. Free wireless! The permanent residents at Las Gaviotas are SO friendly! The only bad thing about Casa del Bombero is that your vacation will eventually come to an end and you'll have to leave... The day we left we were already making plans on how to get back there as soon as possible!
Definitely a five star place. All the reviews listed on this site are on point. I don't usually leave reviews, but my stay at Casa de Bombero was epic. Thank you so much for the stay, my family and I will definitely return.
Stayed at Casa Bombero for an entire week and it was epic. The house is very spacious and is stocked with everything you need. The balcony has beautiful views and is a great place to relax. The kitchen, living, dining and entry way are combined spaces making for a very open space. The kitchen is stocked with a gas range has all the utensils and cooking stuff (pans, knives, oil, etc). It was all high quality stuff too. The living room is super chill with comfy couches to lounge and a nice TV to watch movies at night. There's even a library of surf movies and regular movies. If you're not into movies there's also lots of magazines (mostly surf) to browse through. I ended up watching 5'5 x 19 1/4, a classic Lost movie and a few other surf flicks. There's also wi-fi which worked well and was surprisingly fast. Note, Netflix, Pandora, or HBO doesn't work in Mexico. I was able to stream from Amazon though.
The bedrooms are nice and both have king sized beds with ceiling fans and TVs. The master bedroom has a bathroom for two people while the other bathroom is smaller but no problem. There are plenty of towels and blankets. Bring your own beach towels or beach blankets though.
The house has a good location with parking right in front and is close to the pool/hot-tub. It's a short walk to the beach and a shorter walk to check the surf. You can't see the main take off spot from the patio but you can certainly get a good idea of what the surf/tide is doing. On a side note, i like the board rack and outdoor shower.
Overall, Casa Bombero is a really terrific place to stay for surfers or a small group of friends. Thanks so much for letting us stay here. I'd definitely stay here again and will probably be back!
This home was one of the best for the price you'll find in las Gaviotas We've been staying at this guarded gate community for 25 years and this house had everything a person could want. Super comfortable king beds, a spacious modern vibe, huge new refrigerator, a nice big screen TV for the football games, one of the biggest patios we've seen with a great BBQ, and a view that can't be beat. Everything went very smoothly and we're so happy to see this area returning to normal.
What a beautiful house! My husband and I spent our 5th wedding anniversary in Casa del Bombero and loved every minute of it. The deck (and house!) has such a wonderful view of the ocean that we ate most of our meals outside on the giant deck. The house was super clean, the pool was cool and the neighbors & other guests were fun to play a game of game of shuffleboard with. My hubby and I were already planning a return trip before we even left. We highly recommend staying at Casa del Bombero and look forward to returning very soon!
Tennis and Shuffleboard on site, Las Gaviotas is a gated community which has it's own surf break which picks up a swell from a variety of directions. Tennis Rackets (your balls), Petanque (metal Bocci balls), Vollyball, and Shuffleboard handles + discs stored in closet for your use.
