It's a lovely home away from home... a minute from the beach.. unique in its offering in every which way. Always found Calangute-Baga the most easy to leisure around, shop, eat, drink, catch live shows. Never thought we would actually find a property that we could own! I can walk down to shop, i can walk down to the beach till Baga - the stretch takes just 15 minutes, and Calangute centre - just 5 minutes.. and the stretch that's a minute away from this bungalow is the least crowded and most clean stretch across the Calangute Baga beach strip. Had to buy it!
Fell in love with this warm and welcoming villa - a prize-catch at the heart of Goa's most popular tourist destination. Has Two large porches in the front and back, antique iron garden bench, landscaped with enough greenery, dotted with sandstone artefacts of Budha, Ganesh, Parvathy, Indian Temple Art, Brass bells, furnished fully in cane, most comfortable cane chairs on the porches and top verandahs, swings on the front and back porch, Fully equipped kitchen, a bath for each bedroom, stones throw away from restaurants offering mouthwatering cuisine.
We stayed with our family of 18 members - and were given 6 extra mattresses. The There were 6 bathrooms so it was very convenient despite being a large group. The kitchen is fully occupied so we had a combo of eating out and cooking in . It was the best holiday i had. I loved their cute rooms with the navy blue and beige curtains, cane furniture. Would love to visit Goa and stay here to have a blast again!
We stayed here for 2 nights & 3 days...and felt like staying forever. Joshua’s Beach House is a charming Portuguese bungalow in a great location; only a minute away from the beach and some good eating joints. A walk to the main areas of Calangute took us only about five minutes. A walk down the beach to Baga took us only about 15-20 mins. You cannot get a location any better than this!
As for the bungalow itself, we could not possibly ask for more. Our ground floor bungalow had everything we needed for a perfect holiday. A fully functional kitchenette (microwave, stove top, fridge, utensils, etc.), living room with TV, bedroom with AC & TV, and a bathroom. We were happy to note the presence of CCTV cameras and felt very safe and secure during our stay. The owner and the caretaker made sure we were well looked after. The caretaker was very helpful and was always available. He even set us up with bike rentals and provided us with a set of take away menus from restaurants close by, many of them had home delivery options for free.
We will surely visit again and would love to recommend this place to others especially to groups and families. Joshua’s Beach House is truly a ‘luxurious’ home away from home!
I have stayed here two times. The Joshua beach house is between Calangute and Baga close to the main road. You can also walk down to the quieter side of calangute from the house. The place is big and can easily host 10 or more people(we took 4 rooms for 8 people). The surrounding is quiet but is very close to Baga so it's kind of perfect. It has a kitchen and the nice porch area. The caretaker is very helpful as well. I definitely recommend it for any big groups.
Hi, This was our first trip to Joshua Beach House. The house itself was just beautiful. The room was clean, comfortable and cozy. The location of the house too was very good as it was just a couple of minutes from the beach. The Manger was fantastic,he went out of his way to make our hoilday enjoyable. We just can't wait to go back and will surely recommend my friends and relatives to stay at the Joshua Beach House .Thank you so much.
Ideally located in the midst of Goa's most "happening" neighborhood. We could party till the wee hours of the morning and walk back to our "home" - that's what we call Joshua's Beach House. So many dining options just next door, seemed like a 5 start resort with innumerable dining options. 100 mts from the most famous beach of Goa. What else do you need. GOA IS BEST ENJOYED when you stay here !
We booked the entire bungalow for my family and friends. The place is super. Well maintained and clean. The bungalow manager and caretaker were there to assist us on everything. Got food, changed linen, cleaned up the place. The walk down to the beach was great.. just a minute away. We cooked our own breakfast most days, but we also got good south Indian breakfast within 15 minutes of ordering it. Highly recommend for get togethers. When it rained we played cards. Mosquitos are a problem if we sit late evening in patio.. it was the monsoons. But we kept two mortien herbal coils and they were a big boon.. and got the `macchar away'. Viva Goa!
The best time for Goa is the monsoons. I've lived in India for 20 years now, and every monsoon I go to Goa. This was the first time we stayed in a bungalow instead of a resort because we had friends over with their kids. The toddlers just had a ball here and the kids were running around, climbing trees, or going to the wet wet beach. it was lush green and beautiful. The bungalow was very clean and comfortable for the 9 of us, plus 6 kids. We stocked up the fridge with cold cuts, bread and eggs. The caretaker made us very good tea whenever we requested. He also did the grocery for us which was of a great help in the rains. All in all I strongly recommend the monsoons and Joshua's beach house to anyone who is looking for a great time in Goa.
About 300 metres to the right of the bungalow is the bustling Calangute-Baga road, which is dotted with all kinds of restaurants (serving up Continental, Chinese, Tibetan, Indian food), shopping outlets and pubs. To left of the bungalow is of course the sea, and the magnificent Calangute beach. Shacks serving lip-smacking food and a variety of beverages are lined up on the beach, and you can also avail of the facilities for adventure sports like para-sailing and water-skiing. From the bungalow the market of Calangute is a brisk 10-minute walk away, and you can purchase all your essential items here from the supermarket. There's also a restaurant and pub that runs 24-hours. A couple of night markets and a flea market are a short drive away (5-6 km).
