Serene home in wine country.
Beautiful and quiet home in the countryside within a short walk of Montecarlo. Still just a short drive to all surrounding Tuscan and Garfagnana destinations.
Clean, comfortable upscale furnishings with everything you need to make yourself feel like home.
Luigi and Franca were great hosts and we will certainly stay here again when back in the region.

Excellent and very memorable holiday
We had a wonderful and memorable time. Luigi and Franca were extremely welcoming and helpful from the very beginning. Luigi showed us around the house, explaining everything in detail, and Franca made a delicious tiramisu for us (thank you very much, Franca!). There was a “survival kit” in the fridge – fruits, milk, etc - so we felt at home from the first minute! The location is very convenient for visiting many interesting places around – Lucca, Pisa, Florence and many more, 40 min drive to the beach, and a beautiful village Montecarlo with many good restaurants is just in 15 min walk. The house itself is very clean and has everything needed for the relaxing stay. We really enjoyed our time here!
thank you for sending your feedback which was greatly appreciated.
Since the very beginning Franca and I got the feeling that you and your family were very nice people. It's a pity we had to go away for a few days and could not be of further assistance. However, we look forward to meeting you and all your family sometine in October.
All the best to all of you.

Well-equipped house and wonderful hosts
We've stayed in quite a few villas over the years and this is probably the best-equipped we've had the pleasure to experience. Our hosts Luigi and Franca had provided everything we needed, including a bowl of fruit, drinks in the fridge, pasta, tea and coffee. When we arrived they were incredibly friendly and welcoming and took the time to show us the house and how everything worked.
Throughout our stay they were really helpful - Luigi fixed our hire car when it broke down at the gate, and Franca made us a delicious tiramisu. They also advised on how to get around and what to see, and generally made us feel very welcome and at home.
The house is walking distance from Montecarlo village - though there's no pavement and the cars do fly up and down the road so take very good care, and take torches if you're coming back at night (we'd recommend driving!). The house is also a short drive from Montecarlo-San Salvatore railway station, which has free parking. We used this for most of our days out, because it meant we didn't have to drive into the cities and find parking. Note you need to buy e-tickets through Trenitalia.com as there is no ticket office or ticket machine at this station (though others do have them, including nearby Altopascio). The ticket inspector just scans your phone screen. The Trenitalia app or website tells you the train times.
Highly recommended as a base to explore northern Tuscany and the cities of Firenze, Pisa and Lucca.

Our vacation in Montecarlo
The house was brand new, it was clean and everything worked perfectly. We spend week and a half in the property and really enjoyed our stay. Luigi and Franca were very friendly and we could always ask they advice were to go and what to see in Toscana. Very good experience indeed.
we finally got your feedback. Thank you so much for sending it to us. We appreciated a lot receiving it. We ejoyed very much having all of you at our place. Againg, we wish to thank you for staying at out little house and , above all , for taking a good care of it.

Very welcoming and relaxing
We stayed at this beautiful villa for 11 nights in August. On our arrival Luigi and his wife ( Franca) greeted us and showed us round the villa and were very welcoming and helpful ,any questions or queries Luigi would be on hand to answer them as he spoke very good English.
They left fruit in the bowl, bottles of water in the fridge and 2 bottles of local wine for us, and the following day Franca baked us a gorgeous upside-down pineapple cake.
The villa itself was spotlessly clean and tidy,it had well stocked cupboards with plenty of cooking equipment, also a BBQ and Pizza oven outside.
The area itself is really nice and relaxing, surrounded by olive groves and lush greenery. There was plenty of space for us to park our hire car too.
It was a 15min walk to the lovely local village of Montecarlo. it's a pretty place with plenty of history, a fortress wall and some lovely restaurants and wine bars.
Thank-you Luigi and Franca for our wonderful stay
Montecarlo stands on a hill 160 meters above sea level, surrounded by ancient olive trees and vineyards that produce wines of the highest quality. Its historic center is well preserved, surrounded by a splendid city wall which includes a fortress that testifies how important Montecarlo was in ancient times. Even today, it remains a strategic point to reach the cities of Lucca, Pisa, Florence and Siena. A short distance from Montecarlo is Lake Sibolla which preserves a naturalistic area of great importance thanks to its floristic richness that dates back to thousands of years ago. Similarly, near Montecarlo passes the ancient Via Francigena which in the Middle Ages linked Canterbury to Rome.
The town of Montecarlo was built in the early 14th century by Charles IV of Luxembourg, future emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. The ancient village is located on a ridge overlooking the Valdinievole, an area geographically and economically important for its nursery activities, crafts and spa treatments (Montecatini Terme). The history of Montecarlo and its village is inextricably intertwined with that of its wine and its renowned restaurants.
Montecarlo enjoys an ideal and strategic position to visit the beautiful city of Lucca just 14 km away. Other cities of art within easy reach are: Pisa with its leaning tower, Florence with Michelangelo's David and the Uffizi Gallery, Volterra of Etruscan origins and famous for its alabaster, Siena with its extraordinary Piazza del Campo which every year attracts thousands of people during the Palio and San Gimignano with its towers that stand out against the sky. A short distance away are also two important spas and seaside resorts: Montecatini Terme with its precious thermal waters and the splendid and fascinating beaches of Versilia. Finally, Switzerland Pesciatina with its green hills and the village of Collodi, the birthplace of Pinocchio, the puppet who has traveled around the world and is loved by all children in every corner of the earth.
