Nestled in scenic Boulder Canyon along Boulder Creek
About Joann Nelson
Jay and I have a shared passion for the great outdoors, traveling and experiencing new things. We love the active, mountain lifestyle...which is a main reason why we both moved from the Midwest to Colorado after college. Jay is an avid mountain biker and adventure racer (kayak, mountain bike, rappel, trail run, navigation). I'm a distance runner and triathlete. I love running marathons and ultras, and did my first full distance triathlon at the inaugural Ironman Boulder. Jay runs a small business (Mountain Woodcare) and I do Human Resources consulting. We have a 15 year old cat (never allowed in the rental) and plan to adopt a dog in January 2019. Check out our blog on WordPress...Jay and Joann's Journey. “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

Great location, beautiful surroundings
We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was the perfect location to explore Boulder, take a day trip to Estes Park, and be surrounded by nature while still having close proximity to stores and shops. The creek out front of the house is gorgeous; with the window and doors open in the kitchen you can cook while listening to the rushing water. The house had nice touches such as heated flooring in the bathroom and a really nice grill/porch. We were so happy with our stay, and Joann was incredibly responsive. Highly recommend!
In over 35 years of traveling and staying in vacation rentals throughout the world, this home is on my list of favorites. The house is outfitted with the best quality appliances and contains all that you could possibly need to live comfortably. Stunning design and location, well appointed, will accomodate 4 people with ease but doesn't feel too large for a single traveler. Joann is a gracious host, she was available if I had any questions but made sure that I kept my privacy. I wish that more people would understand the experience of being a traveler who lives in vacation rentals like she does, those places are our home away from home after all.
Comfort nestled in the mountains
I loved this house. There were lots of small thoughtful amenities to make the stay more comfortable. Plenty of firewood to enjoy cold evenings. Travel mugs and water bottles to take out for hikes. Very close to Boulder as well as plenty of hiking trails. There were no condiments when we stayed, so if you plan to eat sandwiches or such, be sure to pick some up on your way into town. The Safeway grocery store was well stocked. We also enjoyed visiting Pearl Street Mall every day. Despite the lack of cell service, the wifi connection was superb and more than sufficient for communications. I wish this place was a bit bigger for my entire family, since I would love to return. But it was perfect for the mother/daughter/granddaughter trip. Thanks, Joann, for sharing your beautiful home!
This place is as pictured - great open floor plan, beautiful views from all of the windows. Very cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies so it made cooking easy. I’d definitely stay here again!
Great place to stay!
We spent a week in mid-October in this spacious and comfortable home. It has everything we needed for a nice visit. We found it spotlessly clean and the kitchen is well appointed, plenty of everything you need for cooking, eating, drinking and cleaning. We enjoyed the fresh coffee beans and grinder and the nice soaps in the bathrooms. The instructions for using the TV are really good so no frustration there. And they really respected our privacy - we moved ourselves in and only knew there were other people on the property because we noticed their cars had moved. It's very close to Boulder, just a few minutes drive up a very scenic canyon, and it's also an easy drive from here to Rocky Mountain National Park or Denver. This is a very pleasant and convenient place to stay.
Very comfortable and nice accommodations. Exactly as it was portrayed on site.
It is secluded which is nice, but a little difficult to find. Things are automatically lit when you are outside coming and going, however it is very dark. The property and accommodations are beautiful. Easy access to downtown boulder and nederlands, as well as Estes Park and Rocky national park. A fully equipped kitchen from A to Z. Comfortable beds and clean, modern bathrooms. The bathroom with the bathtub is cool, but a little awkward getting in and out of. Bathrooms have heated floors as described and are genious! The whole interaction from finding, to renting, to info provided was all amazingly easy. Overall very happy!
