A fabulous luxury retreat, ideal for couples or families.

This beautifully newly renovated detached retreat is the perfect escape, whether for a few days or a week, or even longer. It has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, both with The White Company linen (or equivalent) and sumptuous Hungarian goose down duvets and pillows. Ideally situated in the village close to the beach, golf club, park, fabulous local restaurants and traditional British pubs. The property is secluded from the main street in a courtyard, and gates lead from the main street. There is on road parking outside the gates and if you would prefer to park inside, the courtyard has ample space. The kitchen has all the usual amenities plus a dishwasher and washing machine. To make your stay pleasurable the property benefits from Wifi, Apple TV, land line telephone, Bose sound docks, DVD players, a Wii and large screen 3D Smart TV. Outside there are tables and chairs with The White Company cushions, and table linen. The beach, park and local shops are literally minutes walk away, the post office and general store is directly opposite just across the road. Simply close the gates behind you for a totally relaxing well deserved break. Perfect, private location right in the heart of Alnmouth, renovated to an extremely high standard with everything you need to hand - from hi-tech connectivity to pots and pans. The owners clearly care about this place and it shows in the presentation and attention to detail. The Red Lion nearby is a truly great pub with stunning food and good beer. Highly recommended charming little bolt-hole - we will return!

What a fantastic visit to Fossil Bank, the owners of this stunning property have made every effort to make its visitors feel at home. The decor is beautiful and loaded with mod cons so you are made to feel at home throughout your stay. The outdoor fire makes your al fresco dining experience all the more special and and on nights that you don’t eat in there are some fantastic pubs and restaurants nearby. We visited the beautiful Red Lion that is very handily situated next door, and the Italian restaurant situated in the Hope and Anchor across the road is very good. We would highly recommend Fossil Bank for anyone visiting Northumberland, a truly stunning and cosy retreat that makes your trip truly special.

It's like an enclosed shangrila. House just perfect for us as a three some. All equipment highest quality and everything worked. Cleanliness 5 star. Easy walk to beaches and great amenities within half a minute. What a find- can't recommend it high enough. Owners allowed us to use all their equipment so nothing locked away. It was like borrowing a friends house for a while. No awful rules anywhere and owners always on hand via e mails if necessary.

A fantastic retreat in a stunning location

Fossil Bank is an idyllic holiday cottage nestled right in the heart of the beautiful Northumbrian village of Alnmouth just a short drive up the coast from Newcastle. The house itself has everything you would need for a break away from home. The property is stylish, contemporary and very well maintained, just the kind of place you don't want to leave. The local pub The Red Lion, which is a stones throw, was excellent too, serving the most delicious Sunday roast perfect after a long walk along the stunning coastline. The beach is on the doorstep and is ideal for kids. We will most definitely be back and would whole heartedly recommend a visit. Thankyou Colin and Helen.
