Excellent house for a family to stay in
This spacious modern house is well equipped and provides excellent accommodation for a family with its two lounges and ensuite facilities. The children loved the farm animals in the fields adjacent to the house. There are excellent beaches in close proximity. I highly recommend this property.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback - it was lovely to have you and your extended family staying and enjoying the house, local activities and especially the fantastic beaches close by - they have to be seen to be experienced in my humble opinion!!
Really loved the area, the house was wonderful - everything you could wish for in a holiday home.
Views were amazing - so comfortable to be able to get a real log fire going.
Great support from the local house keeper and care taker.
Thank you for your lovely comments!
It was great having you as guests - sorry about the weather!
Good time was had by all. Stunning location
this was one of the most comfortable, well equipped and located houses i've ever rented. And i've been in a load over the years in ireland, many other countries in the EU and in America. There was great walking straight out the door without having to get into the car, and close to the vast empty beaches of white and silver strand. Restful and off the beaten track. If that's what you're after that's what you'll get
Thank you for your wonderful review - delighted you enjoy our home!
Excellent family house
In a great position with lovely sea views, perfect family vacation house.Spotlessly clean, spacious, good quality towels and bed linen. There were five of us staying but were joined at times for meals by other family members staying in Westport and we were all easily accommodated in the kitchen with beautiful views and very good equipment. Both the housekeeper and caretaker called to see if we had everything we needed.
Owner extremely helpful, highly recommend, we hope to return next year.
Thank you for your wonderful review! Will try and arrange a few extra days of sunshine for you and the family in 2017!
Great BASECAMP for a lot of things to do in the area of Westport!
We - two families (4 adults, 3 kids) - spent one week in Carraig Ban. After reading the reviews we expected a lot and we were not disappointed at all!!!!!
Linda was really helpful from the very beginning. She answered our questions about coffee-machine etc.very fast and the folder, which she had prepared for her guests, was full of helpful and interesting information about the house and about what to do in the area of Westport.
Carraig Ban is a fully equipped family home! Our kids loved to come back "home" in the evening - so we cooked in this great kitchen and had "dinner with a view" :-) Unfortunately we could not use the terrace quite as much as we would have liked - the weather was more autumn than summer. But everything necessary for a barbecue was there.
We can recommend both the area of Westport and especially Carraig Ban for great family holidays. It's far enough away from "touristic fuss" to enjoy a wonderful deserted beach. But nevertheless close to Westport, Greenway bike path, Croagh Patrick, Lost Valley, Killary Fjord, ... for great outdoor experiences.
Sehr gepflegtes Haus / amazing house
The house was just as we had imagined. We had an amazing time staying in such a well kept, clean and spacious house. Everything was just as described. With the fairly remote location and only a few other houses nearby you are in for an amazing view and a quiet stay just as you would expect of rural Ireland. During our stay in mid-May we were extremely lucky with the weather and could do all sorts of activities. The provided Information about all sorts of Things (ranging from destinations for trips to recommendations of Restaurants) was extremely helpful and Linda responded quickly to any questions we had by E-Mail. To add onto that list we recommend "The Country Kitchen" in Lousiburgh. Even tough it`s very small the Food is all homemade and just amazing.
To summarise we can only recommend the house.
Thank you Stephanie for your kind words, delighted we could arrange the good weather too!
Take care, and hope to see you again soon - Linda

Achill’s stunning landscape and rich history is a haunting reminder of The Famine, with the deserted village a haunting reminder. From scenic attractions, five Blue Flag beaches, you will have the opportunity to look out for dolphins and basking sharks both of which are common sights in the waters around Achill, and whales can be seen further offshore.
