This was a fantastic apartment in a perfect spot for cycling and walking. A short but very pleasant walk into the old town. Nuria was a welcoming host and there were lovely touches like a welcome food pack and lots of information about the area. We would definitely return and would recommend this charming property.
We spent 9 days in this lovely property close to the historic centre of Girona as part of a cycling holiday in the area. Nuria was a very kind hostess and the property was in excellent condition. We had cooking facilities, a comfortable bedroom and sitting room and excellent peace and quiet.
The property is perfectly situated for those who want to be near to town but still in the countryside. There is an excellent network of cycling and walking trails nearby so perfect for those who like to spend time in nature during part of the day and enjoy the vibrancy, history and cuisine that the town has to offer.
Would definitely recommend a stay here.
We completely agree with previous reviews. Can Roura is exactly as advertised and truly, “the best, “ made especially so by Núria, Xevi and Grau and their wonderful hospitality. The perfect base for a visit to Girona and the surrounding area – Banyoles, Beget, Compradon and so much more. It was wonderful to be able to walk such a lovely route into the old town and to experience everything else that Girona has to offer. The daily market is a must. A stay that we will never forget and hope to repeat!.

We really enjoyed staying in Can Roura. It has been sympathetically restored and is attractive with tiled floors and exposed beams. The last house in town, it looks over fields and woods. We heard a cuckoo and heard and saw a hoopoe. From the house, it's a pleasant walk into the old town with its bars, restaurants and shops. Nuria was most welcoming and solicitous of our wellbeing and helpfully and unobtrusively guided our plans of where to visit. I can't think of any faults but, in case it makes a difference, it may be worth knowing that the location is more on the edge of countryside than distinctively urban or suburban
My wife, 4 year old son, and I arrived after a quick train ride from Barcelona. Nuria and Xevi were great hosts and the place was a beautiful, clean and cozy. Our son was happy to be out of the city and in with a little room more to play.
The area is just outside of town near to a nature preserve, which seems to be very popular for mountain biking and hiking. Be sure to have dinner nearby at El Cul del Mon.
Great place, cant wait to come back!!!
My wife, two baby girls, and I spent one week here in late July. The apartment was great: Clean. Modern. Well-equiped. Property-owners live next door and were very friendly and helpful. The apartment is just barely in the country, within walking distance of old part of Girona. Girona is a super interesting city, with great food and architecture, and the area is a cycling mecca. Very highly recommended.
