a cute little cottage, on a lovely green with a cricket pitch, in walking distance to an outstanding pub. great accommodations, good kitchen, and a wonderful welcome from the owner with fresh milk, bread, OJ, jam and butter. very satisfied with our stay.
Quaint stone cottage in rural surroundings.
My wife and I stayed at this cottage for 4 nights at the end of January 2019.I am so glad the cottage had gas central heating as we had a big problem with the log fire we just could not keep it lit, maybe it was something we did wrong or the fire I do not know. Also the bathroom was very cold,no radiator only a electric fan heater which was not very effective. This cottage is very well equipped the owners have thought of everything even supplied bread butter milk orange juice tea coffee and sugar .Nice pub across the green called the Red Lion ate there on 2 occasions the meals where very good, friendly staff and the local people.
Thank you for your taking the time to write a review. I’m a little disappointed in the low rating, which is the lowest I have received since opening up our cottage over 4 years ago. Your comment in the guest book seems to differ to what you have said.
I wish to reply to some of your comments that you made.
The log fire is in no way to replace heating the cottage. It is a low kw fire, so may take longer to fire up, but does work. Many guests have successfully used it.
With regards to the heater in the bathroom, you are the first to mention that it is ineffective. Therefore I tested it out, as if it didn’t work I would replace, and found that in a couple of minutes the bathroom was heated. The bathroom is small so a normal radiator would impede movement in there and could possibly cause injury.
I’m sorry your stay was not as enjoyable as I’d hoped.
Cosy & comfortable cottage
We had a really enjoyable stay, cottage has everything you need + nice touch with the milk, bread etc provided. We stayed for 3nights & visited Stowe & went for a few walks nearby. As previously mentioned the pub over the green is very good.

Overlooks traditional village green and a short walk to the pub!
Thank you Mark for taking the time to write a review. I hope you enjoyed your stay.
Lovely cottage, lovely place.
Hard to believe that such a pretty little place could be so near the A43. The village is like a postcard and the cottage beautiful and perfectly located for the shop, village green and pub. There are lots of nice walks from the front door so your dog will be happy too. We loved it.
Thank you Claire for taking the time to write a review. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back in the future.
Gorgeous, Charming and Cosy Cottage! Home from Home
We have had such a lovely new years break at the cottage on the green.
It is a proper home from home. It's so cosy and has all you need. There was tea. coffee, biscuits, bread, jam, butter and a bottle of fizz for us to welcome in the new year! It really was so welcoming.
The pub across the green is a real gem with really good pub food and a great selection of ales. We were only here for 3 days and had 2 three course meals whilst staying!
Great walk to Brackley across the fields next to the old hall.
We want to book in for our next stay already :)
Thank you Morgan for taking the time to write a review. I’m glad you had a wonderful stay, and I look forward to welcoming you back again for the next New Year!
