Guestbook comments from the owner

After much reseach our group of four deciced on Podere Lucignano Secondo Agritutismo. We had the large three bedroom section of this building. The physical location is excellent, the furnishings are wonderful, the grounds are beautiful, the family ownership and management is competent, accomodating, and fair. Of couse we had a rental car and had come doen form Lake Como. This villa is a great base of operations to visit many of the sights around, all within driving distance. Or just spend quiet nights and days at the villa. What a wonderful experience to book this villa and create great memories.

The spacious Living/Dining Room, comfortable and elegant, is provided with a kitchen-area and a big fireplace, which will warm your after-dinner relax in the small sitting area, furnished with two comfortable armchairs. The Logge, definitely the most impressive room in the whole Villa, is a typical ground-floor portico in Alberese stone and Tuscan cotto, turned into an elegant sitting room looking out onto the garden. The well-kept Garden surrounding the Villa is rich in fresh shady places provided by tall, slender pine-trees. Strolling among the ancient olives, you will enjoy the natural fragrance of lavender, sage, rosemary and mint bushes. The wide Terrace in Tuscan cotto, overlooking the green tract of the surrounding woods, will be the ideal setting for your candle-lit summer dinners. The Lawn of Villa is the perfect place to relax while having a glass of good wine.

Exceptional experience

  • 5 of 5

The Villa in Gaiole was a PERFECT find! This gem was a fantastic home base to explore the countryside of Tuscany. The modern appointments, exceptional cleanliness, breathtaking views all made for a remarkable stay. PaPa (Enzo) and his son’s Dochow and Max were the ‘icing on the cake’ when they prepared a 3-plus hour, multi-course authentic Tuscan dinner. When back in Tuscany, this is our ONLY choice.

Absolutely stunning!!

  • 5 of 5

We were two couples who rented the upstairs 3 bedroom/3 bathroom apartment for 4 days and nights. The house, the countryside and the service were absolutely fantastic. This is an old farm house built around 1890 that has been remodeled into two apartments. The remodeling job was done with great craftsmanship while still keeping the Tuscan country field. The home sits on about 12 acres and is surrounded by olive trees and vineyards. One of our favorite nights on the trip was stting at the table outside having a great Tuscan meal and enjoying the beautiful scenery. It's very quite and peaceful, and is an excellent "base camp" for day trips to all the local towns and vineyards. Enzo, Max and Duccio were all very helpful and made us feel right at home. Great value as well, would definitely recommend this property. Rental car is a must!!

Owner's Response: thank Trey and his friends for choosing our villa. They are perfect guests, kind and polite. Their little gift, a yellow pineapple (an ashtray), is now in the yellow room of our villa. They told us that pineapple is a sign for hospitality in Virginia, so it is a perfect gift for our home and for our future guests. Thanks again. We hope to host them again in future.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

This villa is everything I hoped it would be. Surrounded by lavender, rosemary, and rolling hills, it is the perfect Tuscany hideaway. The inside is exactly as pictured and very clean. The owners are exceptional- very friendly and very helpful. My only regret is that we didn't stay long enough to spend more time relaxing at the villa. Give yourself at least a week here, as there is much to see, and you'll want time to just sit and take in the view or enjoy a meal on the beautiful patio.

A Wonderful Choice

  • 5 of 5

We rented both apartments for five nights in June. The setting is private, serene and convenient. The villa is immaculately furnished, stylish and very well maintained. During our stay the outside temperatures were mid 90s F but within the thick stone villa walls it was comfortable. Two nights we prepared our own meals and sat at the large table looking out at the very Tuscan countryside . . . it was perfect. We would certainly highly recommend this property.

What a great place to spend the last four nights of our Italian vacation. Well maintained, clean, and very spacious. This was our forth visit to Italy and it just gets better and better. Next time we hope this place will be available as our primary base location with which we can make our day trips and greatly relax between. The owner suggestions of places to visit, shop, and eat were fantastic. Made some new territory easy to explore.
