About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Limit 4)

This waterfront, vacation home comes with all the amenities: two kitchens (upstairs and down), beautiful living room, cable TV, large deck, and a dining room with a water view. Its location at the end of the road ensures a measure of solitude and quiet.

The village of Lake Ann is within walking distance with two grocery stores, post office, church, and Town Hall. There are many things to do within an easy drive. Summer concerts at Interlochen Arts Academy, eight miles south and east. The Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and National Park are 20 minutes west, Leland (Fish Town) is 25 miles north, and Traverse City is only twelve miles east. Great swimming and fishing!

There are two bedrooms upstairs, and one bedroom in fully-furnished, walk-out basement. Two couples could rent and have a reasonable amount of autonomy up and down, as there is a full bath both up and down.

About The Owner

I am an engineer. My wife is a retired teacher. We have two married children, one lovely grand-daughter, and two grandsons.

The Owner purchased this house in 2005

Why The Owner chose Northern Michigan

This is home turf. My wife and I grew up in the Traverse Area. We love the north land, and hope to retire up here eventually.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have stayed at this Lake Ann home twice and are looking forward to our third visit. The home has plenty of room and is clean and comfortable. It has a very "homey" feel. The kitchen is well equipped. It also has a large deck overlooking the lake, great for having a cup of coffee in the morning or glass of wine or a soft drink in the evening. Bryan Lake is small, but good for taking the rowboat out and enjoying some relaxing fishing. Also, because the lake is small, the noise is minimal. The owners are very responsive to any need you might have. The location is also good, as it is not unreasonably far to Traverse City or Lake Michigan and provides easy access up into the Leelanau Peninsula, which is one of our favorite places to visit. The home is also close to Lost Lakes Pathway, which has over six miles of moderate hiking or mountain biking trails, and Interlochen and Mistwood golf courses. We stayed off-season, in September. We would recommend this property to a friend or relative.

Large, comfortable and well-equipped home on peaceful Bryan Lake. Great location!

  • 5 of 5

This house had plenty of space, inside and out, for our family of six during a week-long family reunion. The older boys loved paddling on Bryan lake, playing pool and games in the family room, and our 3-year old enjoyed the nice selection of books. The deck was perfect for a large family gathering one evening. We also took advantage of a nearby Almira Township Park and enjoyed its picnic shelters, bathrooms and playground equipment. Other activities included climbing the Dunes, kayaking the Platte River, playing on Frankfurt's beach and exploring nearby Traverse City. The owners are very caring and thoughtful and provided all the necessary information about their home. Barb and Steve, thank you for sharing your piece of paradise.

Perfect Location!

  • 5 of 5

So close to Traverse City and activities, we couldn't have picked a better location. The home is spotless and the availability of paddleboat and rowboat can't be beat. Just the two of us but there is room for another family, if needed. Owner was helpful when we locked ourselves out (went fishing without key and thought lower level

was open), and called mother to come by with key...., priceless. The trees were turning the week we were there which made the vacation memorable. Thanks for a wonderful time!

Nice Home on the Lake

  • 5 of 5

Spacious home with beautiful views. Steve thank-you for allowing us to rent your home on such short notice. The home is clean and well maintained. It is close to all the attractions in the area. The lake is small and quiet. I would recommend this home to my friends and family. Thanks Again.

Close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay on the edge of Bryan Lake. It is a well-appointed and well-cared-for home in a quiet spot, yet only a short drive to anything in the Traverse City area: Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leelanau Peninsula, Old Mission, Interlochen, and much more. We loved being able to enjoy a morning walk in nearby Ransom Lake Natural Area, have lunch at "home", then head out for the afternoon/evening somewhere else, if desired. We made good use of the deck overlooking the lake and its grill to enjoy wonderful meals of local whitefish. The boats were great -- we used them several times to relax on the lake. Thank you for sharing your home and providing a peaceful "base camp" for our vacation!

Wonderful Vacation Experience

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful relaxing week with our children and grandchildren. It is a wonderful place to relax and experience nature. The house is comfortable, well-kept and very roomy. It is well supplied to meet all your needs. A large deck overlooking the lake is a great place to relax, while enjoying the natural habitat. There are lots of beach toys for all to enjoy. We particularly enjoyed the paddleboats and playing in the water. The house is very close to the Lake Ann village, where you can get needed supplies, etc. Located near Sleeping Bear Dunes area, there are many choices for activities.

We highly recommend this location for families of all ages.

Peaceful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family has been vacationing here for several summers now. It is such a great location. Bryan Lake is quiet and we often don't see more than a few other people in a days time. We swim and boat and read the days away. We cook our dinners over the fire pit. We travel to Leland for a days adventure and to buy fresh fish. Our children love to swim and fish and hunt for frogs. The house is clean and comfortable and well equipped. Thank you for sharing your Lake House with us. We consider it our home away from home.
