My wife, myself and adult children visited twice this year. The home is very lovely and in a quiet area. Home is also so comfortable and well equipped with furniture and accessories, along with being close to Lake Erie. The owner is such a nice person who allows you total privacy. We look forward to another trip and stay next year.
Our dreams about staying in a cottage by the lake were finally realized when we discovered this hideaway. My sister and I had talked about getting back to Ohio's Lake Erie region for several years. Our childhood had been spent not far from this location and we wanted to re-connect with those memories. The cottage was the perfect place to do it. We went to the nearby park to see the lake and sunsets, or listen to the quiet. When some afternoons were too warm, we enjoyed the comfort of air conditioning inside or the huge shade trees outdoors. We found Bingo among the assorted games, and had a fun night with that, played cards, or watched TV. We even loved the fresh air after a rainstorm. The kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms provided clean, modern appliances. Bath and beach towels were in abundance, as were the sheets. Our beds were very comfortable. We used 1 sofa bed which was also comfortable with the extra foam mattress pads provided. Each room had comfortable furniture and nice decor.....and TV's. Although we felt secluded, shopping and restaurants weren't that far away. We and our guests enjoyed everything this property offered. Our owner was amazing. She was there in a moment if we needed her, but always respectful of our privacy too. She had placed info notes in most of the rooms to guide us. Her efficiency made it so easy for us to settle in and enjoy our stay. I would recommend this lovely cottage to everyone. Marilyn D.
I lived here during the off season from around August to the following May. This house is so livable. I had everything I needed. I wondered what it would be like having the owner living next door. She turned out to be the best part of the whole experience. She NEVER bothered us. It was so nice having her next door. I had the brakes go out on my car and she offered to let me drive her car until mine was fixed. The house is immaculately clean and well decorated, just look at the pictures. If I ever needed anything the owner was right next door to help me out. I can't praise her or the place enough to do it or her justice. Ned
This home is kept in fantastic condition. Front siting area with rocking chairs are fabulous for morning coffee and newspaper. Living area is large with 2 full sofas and 2 reclining chairs. Kitchen is well stocked with pots, pan and many "other" items. Neighborhood is quiet with very limited traffic. Lake Erie can be seen from the front yard and is only 2 houses away. This rental home is in very good condition and Brenda is a super host. She will show you the home and disappear, but is 2 houses away and available at moments notice for chatting or to ask questions about the area. We brought 2 dogs, who really enjoyed the water at Geneva State Park (west side of swimming area) and at Arcola Creek Estuary. It was a nice place to relax for the week!
We rented this home for a last minute getaway to visit with some friend. Home was impeccably clean, very we'll kept and abundantly stocked. Very nice & quiet neighborhood but close to beaches & restaurants. Will definitely stay there again! Brenda was very sweet & nice! We would highly recommend renting this home!! Thank you for your hospitality Brenda!
In late June, 2014, we came to the Madison home to stay for 3 nights and 4 days. What a great time we had at the house and around the Lake Erie area. This home is well appointed and tastefully decorated. Very comfortable beds and furnishings as well. I loved the décor, the beautiful kitchen, and the sitting room where our 9 year old granddaughter chose to sleep. She loved the room so much, she took several pictures of it to help her remember her stay. Having such close access to the lake was so nice and the girls and Grandpa spent a lot of time there looking for unique rocks and stones to take home with them. We also traveled with our dog, Molly. She also loved walking along the edge of the lake, laying in the sand, and just lazily watching us and other beach-goers enjoy the lake and the beautiful weather. With Geneva-on-the-Lake being so close by, we also spent time there enjoying the beaches, playing at Adventure Land, enjoying ice cream at the Whip-N-Dip, and eating at the quaint diner we discovered called Mary's Place. The time went so quickly, we hated to leave when it was over. We would love to go back with friends or other family in the future. I would highly recommend a stay at Brenda's home. It is so clean and neatly organized, you felt as if you had cleaned it yourself!! If you are planning a trip to this area, give this house a try. Brenda is the owner and lives next door and is such a lovely and special person. You will immediately feel at home when you meet her and you will love her wonderful home.
