Best location in Kuhio Shores. Oceanfront - Thirty (30) feet from the ocean - rare and unique corner unit. Ceiling to floor windows across the entire front of the condominium face South at the OCEAN and then wrap-around and face West toward the SUNSET and the Ocean and Coast Line under a huge Palm tree.
Re-modeled. Upgraded bi-annually. King size beds in each bedroom, new bathroom vanity, pedestal sink. New living room furniture, new TV, new blue ray DVD.
The floors of the condominium are covered with imported one inch thick Spanish tiles except for the bedrooms which are wood. In the living room, view the ocean and sunset through ceiling to floor windows. The walls are mirrored where there are no windows so when you stand in the middle of the living room you are surrounded by views of the ocean. Each bedroom has a new king-size bed and a ceiling fan. The living room, dining area, and kitchen have beautiful wood ceilings and ceiling fans.
The kitchen (remodeled in November 2014) is fully stocked, including, a crock pot, rice maker, veggie steamer, food processor,
microwave, blender, coffee maker, glass pots, metal pots and extra cups, glasses and dishes. A CHEFS DELIGHT.

We purchased the condo in 1977 and it has been enjoyed and loved by four generations.
Over 30 years of family vacation fun has been a true delight for our family. The youngest member of the clan is my eighteen year old daughter who growing up in the mountains of Wyoming, an avid skier, learned to surf on Kauai. The condo has truly been paradise for our very large clan, we love it.
Kristin Ellingson purchased this condo in 1977
It is the best location of any condo complex in the Hawaiin Islands, we are surrounded by the beautiful Pacific Ocean on three sides and are the closest condos to the Ocean in Hawaii.
A DEEP DISCOUNTED CAR IS AVAILABLE THRU A MAJOR RENTAL CAR COMPANY.
The condo jets out the farthest to the ocean from the building getting you even closer to spectacular views to the east, south and west. Perfect for whale watching, spotting giant sea turtles, enjoying the surfers, and viewing amazing sunsets. The condo has wrap around glass, floor to ceiling windows in the dining area. New furniture as of October 2013 and a recently remodeled kitchen (November 2014) and bathroom.
Because of the wrap around windows, a great airflow thru the condo.
A great kitchen.
Tinted windows keep the heat out before it gets inside the condo
and allows no impediment of the spectacular views.
Positives: view, view, view (of course, with the big windows and the location right on the water)
Nicely stocked kitchen, comfortable seating in living room, dining corner and deck
Refreshing breezes with open windows and no need for air conditioning
Elevator (not all similar places seem to think that this is necessary)
All necessary equipment for enjoying a day at the beach
Modest suggestions: would be helpful to have a fan in the toilet room in the master bedroom; also would be helpful to have grab bars in the showers (senior citizens are always grateful for this kind of aid.)
We had a fabulous time at the best ocean view condo in Poipu. Unit 214 was very well appointed, beds very comfortable, and had beach chairs, beach towels and a cooler. We will be back and can't think of staying any place else. Kristin's Picks were very helpful.

From the initial contact through the final conversation, our stay was amazing. Kristen is very responsive to questions and provides great ideas and resources.
The condo is everything as advertised. It is clean and well equipped. The location is really the highlight. It is in a beautiful complex and provides incredible views. We fell asleep nightly to the ocean surf just steps away.
This condo is just west of Poipu but the pace is very laid back. It was easy to access everything we wanted to do and Koloa provided a quiet "small town" respite from living in a big city (Denver).
Kristen made everything quite easy. Her directions to the condo were accurate (we arrived after dark which can be a challenge on dark roads), access was exactly as she had told us and we were able to unwind quickly from our travel without any (negative) surprises. Our entire vacation was enjoyable, memorable and awesome.
I definitely would recommend this condo to friends (I already have) and we hope to return someday soon.
Our opinion is that this is the best condo unit anywhere in Hawaii.
We have stayed there several times since first staying there in the 90's.
The view is spectacular from the living room, kitchen, dining room, and balcony.
There is no reason to eat out because you already have the best seat on the island.
Day trips are nice but just going for walks are great too.
You can easily walk to the Poipu Beach resorts in one direction and to Spouting Horn in the other.
A ten minute walk gets you to a little shopping center where you can get great Kauai Pie ice cream at Lapperts.
If you just want to relax and enjoy the scenery without all of the "hoopla" then this is the place!
This was the second time that my family and I have stayed in this wonderful condo. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Kauai. The location is perfect, the condo is clean and comfortable, and for me, it is all about that wonderful view. This trip, we got to see whales, dolphins, lots of turtles, and hundreds of wild parrots who come to roost in the palm trees every evening. You can see the sunrise and sunset from this condo. And the "Green Flash", it isn't a myth and we have seen it several times right from the balcony. Kauai is a magical place and staying here makes it that much better. Thank you Kristin for sharing your condo with us.
Kuhio Shores is the only oceanfront condo in this quiet location, with pleasant residential areas to the east and west. We enjoyed daily walks past the Spouting Horn to the west and along the sea wall toward the Sheraton to the east. We watched sunrises and sunsets, turtles, and whales from the lanai. Adjacent Lawai Beach has good snorkeling. The Beach House next door is an upscale restaurant with fine cuisine, perfect for a farewell dinner. A lovely open air shopping center with lots of restaurants is in walking distance; the Wednesday Culinary Farmers Market there is not to be missed. Allerton and McBryde Gardens just up the road are well worth a tour. We have stayed in 2 other units at Kuhio Shores and rated them 5/5. This one gets a 3/5 primarily as it was not as well stocked, most notably lacking a cooler, which is a must for shopping & picnics, and binoculars for whale watching (fortunately we brought a pair but could have used another). It lacked the cheerful tropical decor we have come to expect, instead with mismatched but serviceable furniture. Window covering would have been nice to keep down the temperature while we were out. The front screen door lock was missing so we lost the cross breeze when we wanted the front door locked. However, cooling fans were provided in all rooms. The unit could use a deep cleaning under beds and furniture and in corners, noted when plugging in various lamps and clocks that were unplugged on arrival. The only kitchen sponge provided was half of a 3x5 one. Yes, it had been cut in half. Try cleaning a counter or doing dishes with that! The owner, Kristin, was easy to reach via email. When we had not received our damage deposit one month after departure, I emailed Kristin and had a response within the hour and a refund by the end of the day. An OK unit that could become 5/5 with some elbow grease and additional amenities.
The reef in front of the condo complex is inhabited by a colony of giant sea turtles that are quite playful and fun to snorkel with. 3 of the best surf breaks in Hawaii, PK's, Centers and Acid Drop are right in front of tne condo.
