I booked all four apartments recently for my fiftieth birthday celebration in NYC. 15 people from Australia and NZ in my group had the most memorable week in the East Village. Sudha and her team were professional, welcoming and responsive throughout, from time of booking through staggered arrival dates for different apartments etc, assisted with queries and even waved us off on our last day. Apartments were very clean and well fitted out. Neighbourhood opened us up to the local experience beautifully. Easy access from subway stations on a few lines close by so no problem getting around. Penthouse was divine and we spent many hours sharing stories of our day over a drink watching the sun go down before heading out to make the most of every minute. I love New York and will remember fondly for a very long time what a special time it was staying at East Village Apartments. It's a real find.
My wife and I, together with our daughter and son-in-law, had a wonderful two weeks at East Village Apartments, in the penthouse suite. We arrived late in the evening, to be greeted by the owner's representatiive who immediately made us welcome. The property was extremely well presented, warm and very secure. The location was very good with easy access to the subway, the Whole Foods Supermarket and many lovely restaurants, most of which were listed in the briefing folder left for guests, Peels (for brunch), Saxon & Parole, Beauty & Essex, Il Bucco to mention a few.
There is a facility for homeless nearby, and this was sometimes an issue, but nevertheless we would have no hesitation in recommending East Village Apartments.
We had two families in this lovely penthouse - 4 adults and 3 teens - and it fit us wonderfully. One teen stayed on the sofabed in the living room, so we just "lived around her" if she was still sleeping when we arose. It's a great spot - easy walk to lots of things to do and subways in a nice residential area. Sudha is an extremely hospitable host and very willing to share tips and ideas to help you with your stay. Shoba the housekeeper met us upon arrival and was there to clean when we left - also very helpful. Because it rained the whole time we were there we couldn't take advantage of the large deck, but it looked like it would have been fabulous on a sunny day or warm night. The master bedroom with queen is quite large and nicely connected to a fabulous bath. The second bedroom is nice size and has a reasonable size bathroom to itself. The third bedroom is just big enough for a double bed with a little walking space. Great living area and kitchen. All in all, a fabulous spot that we highly recommend and would return to!
