I live in Asheville, NC. I invented and own the company that manufactures InfoTubes and InfoBoxes, that attach to for sale signs. I do business with major retailers and I have been in business since 1988.
Tommi Crow purchased this house in 2005
I fell in love with Lake Keowee after a visit 20 years ago. It is the most pristine lake I have ever seen. Its teal blue waters and white sand beaches are so clear, that they can teach scuba diving here.
Lake Keowee is like being on many different lakes at the same time. The mid and south end of the lake are wide open, with forever vista's and sunset views. Traveling northward up the Lake, as elevation increases, the terrain becomes mountainous, with emerald green and cooler water temps, waterfalls, cliff jumping and with river like curves, bluffs and rock outcroppings.
The lake is very 'high' end. Just cruising and looking at the gorgeous mansions and homes is a joy in itself. Also, the 350 miles of shoreline ensure that you are never bored and something new is always around the corner.
To top it off, this natural beauty and serenity is also located near Seneca and Clemson where shopping, dining, movie theatres and nightclubs are plentiful.
Although Lake James and some of the lakes closer to Asheville are beautiful..none compare to Keowee. Added bonus..the prestigous Highlands of North Carolina and a dozen waterfalls are within minutes of the lake.
Lake Keowee offers the absolute best of everything and the natural beauty of the area is unsurpassed.
I loved this house the minute I saw it. The level, sandy shoreline and the privacy in a large, open cove were very unique to this area and this lake. Many homes on Keowee are located in the backwash area's or deadend coves with unsafe swimming conditions, low, murky water levels and are surrounded by other boat docks, houses, etc. In addition, many are always shaded and in the dark, or the lots are so steep I would have to debate how bad I wanted to go the the water or back to the house. Well, not this house. This home offered 2 acres of privacy, 505 feet of level sandy shoreline, sunset views and its own boat ramp.
The house itself has a great floorplan. It is an updated one-level ranch without stairs or steps. The master bedroom and the Jr master are located on opposite ends of the house, which is great for privacy and both have their own entrance.
The floor to ceiling windows allow the lake to come indoors and the water views are amazing from nearly every room in this house. It is warm, comfortable and it is laid out perfectly for guests with different idea's about what an ideal vacation is. If you want action, games, etc. there are perfect area's for that. If you would rather read, sunbath or take a nap...there is the ideal spot for that , too.
And, a Guest House??? How perfect is that? You can't find this anywhere else on Keowee. The guest house is completely self-sufficient and sits right on the water. It is cozy, comfortable and allows some guests a complete home of their own. I loved the fact that none of my guests would be stuck in a basement.
From the fruit orchard and western sunsets to the rock fireplace, I knew this home was the one for me the minute I saw it.
First visit to Lake Keowee and we had a great time!
We boated, swam, fished and ate!
We were all very comfortable in your accomodating Lakehouse and hope to Return!!
Four generations of family gathered for the long weekend. The house met all of our needs, with room to be together, or find a quiet place to read or nap.
The lake access is wonderful. A very gentle slope to the shore and dock. Lots of sun if you want it, and large shade trees if that is your desire.
The little kids loved being able to wade into the sandy bottom, or play at waters edge with the provided beach toys. We had one adult and her child both afraid of deep water. They were able to wade into the lake and go further in as they became comfortable, and enjoy the water. At the end of the weekend they were going off the end of the dock.
The owner was a delight to work with, and the boat rental company she recommended was as well.
We will be back!
Our family has been using this Lake and Guest House for our July 4th vacation for the past 4 years and look forward to 2016! This was our 2nd vacation rental home on Lake Keowee and other family members 3rd experience. Our experience with the owner, cleaning crew, neighbors and boat rental staff has been excellent. The lake house and guest house is a perfect set up for us and has everything we need. We have loved having the pool table in the evenings and access to fresh blueberries to pick! We have easy access to everything on the lake yet we are in a private cove for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. If you want to make unforgettable memories and have the best Lake Keowee experience ever...this is the place to stay!
There were three generations in our group, ranging in age from 70 to 20 months. The lakeside access was ideal, and the guest house was a great plus. Everyone had a ball...we had enough space for both naps and a milestone birthday party. The owner, and her cleaning staff, were wonderful. We are all already eager to return for another visit.
The house was well taken care of and if we did have any issues Tommi, the owner, was a pleasure to speak with. The boat ramp made putting our boat in and out so easy. The kids (ages 6 years-infant) LOVED the beach area (we would go here again for that reason alone - it was great!). There was plenty of space in the house and the area was quiet. The cove was calm enough for us to swim in, and close to other places (such as the Lighthouse, which Tommi recommended, and jump off rock). If you do choose to stay here though, please be kind to the guests staying after you and do not pick all the ripe fruit before you leave. That makes for some pretty bummed kids (and adults)!
This was a great vacation. Two families escaped from Charleston to the upstate the first week after school was out. The house was a perfect layout for us. The kids (ages 10-15) loved the independence of the guest house. It was a well stocked kitchen for cooking. We liked the open feel to the house and enjoyed having a pool table. It was easy for us to trailer a boat with us and use the put-in on the property as well as the dock. The location on the lake is very gook. Close to Seneca for groceries, restaurants and gas for the boat. The property is on a nice, quiet cove with a shallow slope to the water and was close to both of the restaurants on the lake. We especially enjoyed the Lighthouse cabana. We found close places to hike, mountain bike and play tennis, and it was also a convenient to Clemson. Just as importantly, it was very easy to work with the owner. Tommi was quite helpful and professional while we were planning out trip. She was always quick to respond to email and phone calls to answer questions on what to bring and what to take advantage of in the area. She even checked in with us during our stay to make sure we were having a good time. We would love to return and strongly recommend the property if you are looking at Lake Keowee.
This property was perfect for our family. Beautiful and very large property that accommodated two families. We shared the home with our dear friends from Charleston SC while we visited our kids who attend Clemson University. We attended the Clemson game and our kids and came over to stay with us. It felt just like home with a great view. We definitely will return next football season and likely this summer if available.
Everyone was extremely pleased.
