Quinta de Gozende affords stunning views over the Serra D’Arga and is situated on the outskirts of the quiet village of Vinhas but is only 4km from the bustling market town of Paredes de Coura. There is a small café/restaurant and a Roman Catholic church in the village. The house is surrounded by 6 acres of garden with mature trees, vines and has its own private swimming pool. The kitchen is fully equipped including a washing machine, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and oven. In the main house there are three bedrooms, one double with en-suite bathroom, a second double and one twin with a shared shower room. The remaining accommodation is in the barn with one double bedroom and one bunk room sleeping 4 and a shower room. The sitting room is large with an open fireplace and extends out onto the veranda, where most meals are eaten in the summer months. The maids will come once during the week to clean the house. There is also a gardener and pool specialist who come once a week.

Ideal for a family getaway holiday or for those that love walking. The house is near the Serra de Peneda National Park. Beaches can be reached within 40 minutes and there are plenty of towns to explore. Canoeing down the Rivers Lima, Coura and Minho are also great fun. There are many picturesque towns and villages to visit with markets and plenty of restaurants. Bicycles can be hired in Caminha.

We are an English family with close family ties to Portugal. We have three teenage children who all love coming to Portugal during their holidays.

Why Anna chose Viana do Castelo

We bought Quinta de Gozende in 2005 so that we could spend our holidays near our family and one day hope to retire here. The house and garden has been sympathetically restored and are perfect for families. The pool is safe and perfectly situated with total protection.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Our house is situated on a hill with no neighbours above us. We are well protected from all other properties. Quinta de Gozende is extremely private and peaceful.

cozy cottage

beautiful cottage with everything you need even in the winter . cozy ,clean and comfortable .

we arrived on a very wet and windy afternoon but were soon sat in front of a open fire with a hot drink . the bed was so comfortable , my partner slept through a brilliant thunder storm . would love to take the family next time .

Lovely House ideal for larger family group

This is a lovely house. We are a middle aged couple who rented this property for one week in June 2016. I should say first that the owner Anna and the housekeeper Sandra were fantastically helpful when our bag containing directions and sat-nav were lost by the airline. It’s too long a story to relate here, but they both went way further than expected to help us.

The house is well equipped with all we needed for our stay, everything was good quality and everything worked. There are a number of different areas in the ground to relax depending on the weather and the time of day. The pool area containing the barbecue is great, as is the pool itself.

The location is great as a starting point for visits to areas of interest from mountains to coastlines.

We did not see the interior of the converted barn, but we are sure that the house is more than suitable for a larger family group. We moved to a different location after our week here, but were sad that we had not booked this house for the whole fortnight.

If we decide to visit this area again, this would be the first house we would want to rent.

Great house in a beautiful location

We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay in July. The accommodation was perfect for us and we especially enjoyed the spacious outdoor areas with stunning views. The pool was a generous size and always warm. We enjoyed our breakfast and evening meals outside and we loved exploring Northern Portugal and into Spain from this base. All interactions with the home owner were helpful and we were provided with very thorough directions and local information and tips. We would thoroughly recommend this holiday home.

Lovely holiday

The accommodation is furnished to a very high standard and is very comfortable, the pool was excellent and is quite large for a holiday villa. We were also very impressed with the garden, which is large, well maintained, quiet and secluded. The property is located in a picturesque and peaceful area of North Portugal.

The owner was very responsive to any queries we had and also provided excellent and friendly local assistance.

One word: Wonderfull!

The house was Wonderfull! Everything was very clean, everything you need is available, you get a nice welcoming basket and communication is efficiant. We have travelled around at mayt places but this is certainly the best house we have ever had! Big and so nice garden, refreshing pool,... Would recommand it strongly!!!

Quinta de Gozende is situated in the Minho in a very small village, 7km from the Spanish border directly up the A3 motorway. It is 75 minutes drive from Porto airport. The motorway is well signposted from the airport and the house is less that 10 min from Jct 13.

Other than a rural café/restaurant there is nothing in the village of Vinhas but Paredes de Coura is only 4km away in which there are a couple of supermarkets and many local shops, restaurants and cafés.
