Why jane altman chose Mount Pleasant
If you are looking to have an enjoyable stay, this is the place to be! Small town living brings an air of relaxation and friendly faces. Ice cream parlor, hunting and farming goods stores, outdoor farmers markets, oddity and antique shops, locally owned grocers with locally made goods, and best of all, homemade food available downstairs! This mansion started life as an early 1800s tavern. A tavern was defined as providing lodging, meeting room, bar, food. McCali Tavern is back to it's roots.... except it is much more glamorous! Come enjoy a home cooked meal, guitarist Fred, and a spacious suite to relax in.

Comfortable small town apartment
We rented a spacious second floor apartment in downtown Mt.Pleasant that is close to a park, restaurants, and a grocery store. Jane provided plenty of towels, pillows, and kitchen necessities. McCali Manor beats staying in a New Station motel.
Great location for lodging
There were 5 in our group in PA for a funeral in August 2016. We wanted to stay somewhere where we could all be together as a family. When this popped up on VRBO, I knew it was what we wanted. This little gem is in the middle of Mt Pleasant street square where you are able to walk to many excellent food choices. Our first night there they had a local band play in the sweet little gazebo, where of course we could walk to as well.
The 2 bedroom apartment was very spacious with all amenities needed for the stay. If you are lacking something you forgot, there is a dollar general 2 blocks away.
However, we were thrilled that there was a tavern onsite owned by the same owner, we were ready to have some good eats and drinks but being that we were there on Sunday, it was closed. I have to say that Jane (owner) was very accommodating offering to have any type beer or wine we requested in the fridge waiting for us when we arrived. I do want to return to try the restaurant next trip there.
Beautiful mountains are about a half hour away and you can hop on the turnpike and be in Pittsburgh in about 45 minutes all the while enjoying the convenient location with the simple little town atmosphere.
If you are in the area for a stay consider this over a hotel. Much better then a one room place to stay.
EZ access to Turnpike, Rt 70, 119, 66, and is on Rt 31 and 819. Minutes from Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, white water rafting, biking and hiking trails, lakes, caves, Frank Lloyd Wright Homes and many Wineries.
