This is a deceptively spacious 17th century cottage, full of character with heavy beams and bread oven, but offering all modern facilities. There are three double bedrooms and a twin. On the ground floor is a cosy lounge with wood-burning stove and a large farmhouse kitchen; on the first floor is a second sitting-room, a double bedroom and a shower bathroom. Upstairs on the second floor are two more double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, plus a second shower bathroom.
Outside is a patio with table and chairs and a small garden.

About Kath Gray
We are retired teachers who moved to France in 2003. We lived in the house next door to the cottage and rented out the cottage. When our son started his family, we decided to return to the UK. We sold the house but kept the cottage which we use for family holidays and rent out in the summer.
Kath Gray purchased this Cottage in 2003
Why Kath Gray chose Creuse
We loved this area on sight as it is so beautiful and peaceful. It reminded us of the parts of England we came from but more undeveloped and less populous. The lack of light pollution means the night skies are just magical.
What makes this Cottage unique
We fell in love with the age and character of the property. When you sit and look at the huge hearth, the old bread oven and the massive beams, you can almost imagine the people from 300 years ago living their simple lives. It is very atmospheric.

Within an hour's drive is a Wildlife park with wolves, a Maze, a Go-Ape centre, a brand new swimming-pool with slide in La Souterraine, museums, lakes with beaches and watersports, beautiful medieval villages and chateaux.
In summer, there are many Vide-greniers (similar to carboot sales), music festivals and pageants.
The countryside is ideal for hikers, cyclists, horseriders and birdwatchers, with many lakes for swimming and watersports.
